Disney's DuckTales 2 (NES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

- Опубликовано: 20 фев 2016
- A playthrough of Capcom's 1993 NES game, Disney's DuckTales 2.
Played through on the normal difficulty level, best ending shown.
This is another quality Capcom platformer, and another one that will cost you an arm and a leg to play with an original authentic cartridge. It's not quite as "magical" (for lack of a better word) as the original DuckTales game, but given that it does offer some fair improvements on the core game mechanics, it's certainly worth the time it takes to experience it.
There was also an excellent Game Boy version of this game that came out around the same time, and I think it tends to be the far more common version between the two. If you really want to play it on authentic hardware and don't want to fork over hundreds for a beat up cartridge, the Game Boy provides a reasonable alternative. Go figure!

I never played DuckTales as a kid, so I played and beat both of them recently as an adult. I gotta say, the second game was much more enjoyable.
This was a brilliant game,loved this as a kid☺
I'm happy to see this complete play-through video. I had this soft too but I think I couldn't see the last scene. Finding the pieces of the map was difficult for me in childhood.
A good follow-up to the original. It's not got quite the same magic to it, but at its core, it's more of the same great gameplay and presentation that Capcom was always known for.
+NintendoComplete For the longest time I didn't even know this game existed.
+Kain Yusanagi That's because this was released late in the NES lifecycle and this game, alongside Chip & Dale Rescue Rangers 2, are two of the rarest games for the system's library.
Spike Riley
funny thing: I used to own C&D RR2 and played the crap out of it. This game just was a total ghost here, where I live, by comparison.
***** I see. The Game Boy version is more common the NES version, since the handheld still went strong. As for Rescue Rangers 2, I can never find a copy for below $100.
+Kain Yusanagi Nobody paid attention to it in the States, but the GB version of it sold really well. The GB was way more popular than the NES at this point though
I always regretted never getting to play this as a kid when it came out. I was already on to the snes and these late gen nes games were more low print and hard to aquire. Same thing happened to me with Chip and Dale 2 and all the late Taito stuff like Panic Restaurant and Little Samson.
Don’t worry, you can now play it on the Disney afternoon collection on the PS4 or PC
I spent hours as a kid to complete. the game to then spend hours to listen to the endgame jingle on loop. Aw the memories
Look at Launchpad trying to get himself into the will.
EDIT: Goddamn, Scrooge is suddenly EVERYONE'S uncle.
To be fair, I personally wouldn’t mind having that feathered old codger as an uncle.
Or at least, an uncle/grandfatherly type figure. :D
@@Phantom.Gaming64 And a bit Genghis Khan-ish as well.
it was my favorite game due its hidden secrets . thanks for posting.
I prefer my secrets non-hidden. 😆
@@8-bitBishop why
Why oh way didn't Wayforward combine both Ducktales into their game while the world still had Alan Young?
because they didn't 'need' to
My oldest son used to watch that show on WDRB, WDKY and WBNA, the first Disney animated cartoon produced exclusively for first-run syndication, when he was 3; today, over 30 years later, DuckTales continues to set the standard for other Disney animated series such as Phineas & Ferb, Kim Possible, TaleSpin, Gargoyles and House of Mouse, among others!
Damn this is nostaligic. Maybe I should try playing it again, now that I know english lol
you all prolly dont care but does any of you know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account?
I was stupid forgot my account password. I would appreciate any assistance you can give me
@Jake Alvin Instablaster :)
@Malik Gordon thanks for your reply. I got to the site on google and I'm trying it out now.
Seems to take a while so I will reply here later with my results.
@Malik Gordon it did the trick and I now got access to my account again. Im so happy:D
Thanks so much you really help me out!
@Jake Alvin happy to help =)
Capcom scores another Disney hit with DuckTales 2. Following up on their other entries into this field, DuckTales 2 gives you control over the required Disney character in another contest against nasties in a Mega Man-style universe. The action has a nice pace and the graphics are rendered well for an 8-Bitter. DuckTales 2 is a great example that 16-Bit graphics and high Meg counts are not necessary for a great game. The gameplay is filled with techniques, some old and some new. There are plenty of mysteries to solve and hidden levels to find. The graphics are cute, sound is bearable, and the game play is excellent. And who said 3rd-party companies should makes games that justify holding on to your NES anyway? DuckTales 2 is one of those fun games with innovative techniques, cute graphics, and surprisingly fitting music. Just when you throught the NES was dead, leave it to Capcom to revive it once more!
Music is fantastic and You're very good PLAYAH!
I think I remember seeing a walkthrough for this game in Nintendo Power when I was a kid. So many memories.
Did you know?
Glomgold said the word "shit" after he lost to Uncle Scrooge in the japanese version
gdzie ?
It was noticeable that Japanese children of that time used to get used to the rudeness of video games in the old days and they continued to play quietly or started laughing
He should have said I WILL BE BACK after D/T-1000 got destroyed.
Wow! Just wow! This is my favourite game for Nintendo Entertainment System. I learned a lot from this video even though I have played this for more than 15 years.
From this video I found out hidden paths in Niagara Falls, Bermuda Triangle and in Scotland! I never knew that you had to by the last piece of the map! I always wondered what’s the point with the found map parts... AlsoI never knew that hidden level in the basement of the Castle! Wow!
I noticed few things you missed on some levels:
Niagara Falls
1:18 Under these brick-tiles are hidden gems after you get the power adapter from Gyro.
3:33 There a is hidden gem on that same platform where that treasure chest is!
3:40 Hidden gem in the corner under rope
Bermuda Triangle
7:21 Hidden gems next to most right wall as high you can jump on that crate
9:27 Hidden gem in the left corner
Egypt:
22:07 Hidden gems found by falling down by the wall
Watching this video I remember my childhood.....thanks for that
I've been playing the original game with my daughter recently. Although I think the music of the original is better, I'm really impressed with the graphics here. I wish I had picked this up when I was buying up old NES games from 1999 - 2006.
Hi! Three years late here. What do you mean by 'original'?
@@sranug DuckTales. This is the sequel.
@@ezehogan That's what I thought.
@@sranug He's right though, about the music. There are a few good tunes, like the Scotland theme, but overall the music is lackluster.
I never knew some of these secrets you've shown. Excellent work. I beat this as a kid, but never a hundred percent apparently. Still, I like the basic ending better. It shows Scrooge as a better person if you think about it. After beating the castle, scrooge immediately tries to save webby. Collecting all of the map however, causes Scrooge to go after one more treasure before trying to save Webby.
Since i am the long lasting disney fan
I like to watch games in youtube
The music is so good!
To be honest if this game had better music it could have gotten the popularity boost to get remade, like the moon theme did
The Scotland theme was good, but yeah the music overall sucks.
Final theme right before the last boss is amazing.
Masterpiece!
It took me a month to discover everything when i was little 🤣 now i searched this video on youtube to remember everything
Amo este juego
Thanks for posting.
Had no idea this existed. Might have to try it out someday.
Great graphics.
When I can I will play this game ☺️
Incredible graphics
It was really nice game for those times 💯
buen vídeo me ayudaste mucho!!!
superb execution
I remember this games since 1990
I paid $30 for this, and $30 for Chip N Dale 2 at the same long closed local retro game shop in my area (Play N Trade still survives though), both are carts only, but in excellent condition thankfully. Mind you this was about 6-7 years ago, when copies of both were still over $100. Same place netted me NES Bonk's Adventure for $20. I think the guy sold them cheap to me, because he knew I had a passion for the games....nah he had them marked $30 a pop (and 20 for BA), and my crazy, but lucky ass stumbled in at the right time for all 3 of them. I got the Disney titles at the same time, BA would come about 2 months later. He later on got a copy of Little Samson, but he wouldn't sell it locally, he made $190 on Ebay (I at least offered him $75 for a cart only, but no go).
Bloodreign1 I have been handed my fathers video game store in the late 90s after his passing.
The store eventually closed, I kept the games and dvds which were new at the time.
I have almost every nes title now, we are only missing Bomberman 2 and Megaman 5. I had no idea they were worth this much until I got the itch to play them again.
@@lordcrumb108 Bomberman 2 can be had for far cheaper with the Japanese version, I paid I believe around $17 for a Famicom cart of it within the last year. Mega Man 5 used to sell for cheap, I can't remember what I paid for a copy, might've been $15. I found it at a Play N Trade that is long gone, and was about 20-25 miles from my house. I called them ahead to see if they had one, as at the time I was picking up Mega Man classic series games (Mega Man 1 would come last for me, a friend gave me their old copy), and I called them to see if they had any Mega Man games that I didn't have (I already had 2, 3, and 6 at that time, 5, then 4, then 1 came after, then the Gameboy versions of 4 and 5, got the first 3 in order). I was in luck, they had 5.
That shop had lots of harder to get goodies, but compared to the Play N Trade, and Game Over stores in my area, this guy loved overcharging for stuff even then, his prices higher than Ebay at the time. I did score Mega Turrican for free at that same shop (it and the Genesis version of Wolverine Adamantium Rage wasn't in their system, the worker who gave me Mega Turrican offered the Wolverine game to me, I turned that one down as I knew how bad it is), and that game costs a small fortune for the Genesis now.
I beat this game on the NES and Gameboy. It was almost as fun as the original Duck Tales.
I think this is the only game ever i finished. Friends called me failgamer but this one game im proud of!
The first one was awesome but the second was also a pretty nice one
@33:34 i was disgusted at how webby was kidnapped at same time they completed the map, and they chose to get the treasure instead of rescuing webby first. I mean, god knows what the pirates are doing to her.
Pretty cool when strooge beats a master boss he get their weapon!
I find this game to be easier than the first one
Wish it had memorable stage songs like the previous game
The Scotland theme is pretty good.
Launchpad never called Mr. McD, "Uncle Scrooge"...
36:50イルミナティヴァージョンのアヒル君登場!
What tf are Huey, Webby and Bubba doing just hanging out in a cave by themselves?! And then Uncle Scrooge just leaves them there to collect diamonds.
Talk about irresponsible parenting
Me encanta jugar este juego, y como nueve la colita es lo más de tierno💕
A question, which is the recommended first level to chose, and the last one, as well? Been playing this on "Disney Afternoon Collection" (Steam) and having a ball. Got one more map piece to get.
Awesome
Would any pirates be crazy/brave enough to give robbing ships a try in the Bermuda Triangle ? The weather conditions there are super harsh !
Scrooge McDuck's Total Money:
$10,107,000 (1st Game)
$7,108,000 (2nd Game)
$17,215,000 (All Together)
💰
The best game ever!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
This should of been included in the remaster of part 1.
I like how everyone calls Scrooge "Uncle Scrooge" in this version
Me too
Yeah, all NPCs call him "Uncle Scrooge", related to him or not, in this game--I guess the dialogue translators must've gotten lazy.
@DBoy
They had no choice
In the original japanese version "ojisan" is both "uncle" and "middle aged man"
Only in the English version it seems. In the German version Launchpad and Gyro adress to him as Mister Mc Duck.
@@aU2times It is relatively common to refer to an older man who is a family friend as uncle. Ojiisan and uncle have similar connotations.
@@NintendoComplete Maybe, but I don't think those two consider Scrooge a family friend. I think its more fitting for those two to say Mr McDuck, they also adress him like this in the cartoon show.
@@aU2times I gotcha, and I agree :) I was just thinking about reasons for why they translated it that way.
They should remaster this one too
I wished they Remastered this game to go with the First One…
I prefer this to the first one. I never played either as a kid........and now Im an old f*** I find the first one hard/frustrating to play, this one is a lot easier for my faded reflexes.
ALL BOSSES
10:58, 18:03, 26:23, 32:13/35:32 ( TWICE ), 36:35 ( Final Boss )
I finished the game several times when i was a kid, but never get complete treasure map
Hayatımda oynadığım en güzel ateri oyunu
Why do all the good characters call him Uncle Scrooge in this game?
Probably the fault of the localization team.
Ojisan Arigatou okosaimas! XD
i never knew was a second ducktales game
5:34 I would've never guessed to hit the wall with the cane lol. Dewey's advice sucks lol
Probably why they left him there. I notice he wasn't at the end with Huey, Louie & Webby.
@@maskedmallard537 hilarious lol
oooof, first time seeing ducktales 2 EVER.....it seems like the music took a pretty big hit, because i dont hear any true bangers like ducktales 1.
this game is still extremely playable today, it's such a bummer that so many cool IPs had such terrible terrible games, barely playable then and not worth playing today.
❤😢
I like the beta game on retrogames
There was a sequel?
Not to this one unfortunately. There are only the 2, and the remake of the first DuckTales from a few years back
Wait this game exists?
How did you climb on another rope?
As you're jumping to it hold up
Super Mario 4 Jugadores music
13:26 anytime I try to do that I just keep bouncing off it and it doesn't break.
There's an upgrade for the pogo stick you need to find before you can break it.
@@NintendoComplete How is that possible to do that?
12:18 Where do I know that head thing from?
Easter Island statues?
@@dandycliff2 Yes!!! Thats it......thank you Cliff :)

All this is gone
Cornelius Raibon born October 31 1985 Halloween birthday boy Nintendo boy decepticon duck boy
ok
14:31 Ah, I see. The clue is right there, below & color-coded!
35:41 Just like in _Ghouls & Ghosts!_
The ending is just stupid, why ungle dagobert had to loose all his treasures on his ship? That’s pretty sad.
You wanna go home?
Yes - A
No - B
34:22 that's not complete.. ;) you don't get that crate -.-
As far as I know, there a 2 possible ways through the secret level, you would get this one on the other route by choosing the upward way shortly after the start of the level. I wonder if someone managed to create a map of this confusing level. I always feel the need to collect all the treasures I see, so having one would be helpful.
Graphics look about the same as the first Duck Tales, but the stage ideas are less interesting (the first one had some AWESOME ideas like Transylvania and the Moon...these stages are just blah), and the music is really dull.
Glomgold scrooge mcduck stick
I wish I had this, but theres like 6 copys
I played the japanese version and wonder what is 1-3, 3-2, 4-1, 2-4 mean. now i have the answer 😒
A game that scrooge McDuck himself buy and play
Efsane oyun elinde olan satan varsa bana ulaşsın
Que juego mas choto me cargaba
fucking secret numbers? how can a chinese play it through?
I dunno, I think they intended English speakers as the primary audience for this version. Was the NES even sold in China when this came out?
Meh, it's not even half as good as the original.
I did not know there was a sequel !
The best game ever!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
