    Trading Suzuki wouldn't improve this offense unless they're putting Soto out in RF. An we all know that isn't happening. Plenty of other trade candidates not named Suzuki.
    They've got 24 blown saves and a 58% save percentage. The Brewers for comparison have a 73% save percentage. If they had say a 70% save percentage they'd be in the top wildcard spot above the Padres and only a couple games behind the Brewers for the division. That's with how bad the offense was in May/June as well. Maybe next year they'll get it figured out in April instead of June 30th.

    Random aside - I received my 2025 season ticket invoice last week. My seats are in the Terrace Reserve Preferred section (200s). My total price per seat last year, including tax but excluding service fee, was $4,347. My total price per seat for 2025 is $4,533. On its face, this doesn't seem TOO bad - it equates to a ~4% increase in price compared to 2024. However, when you factor in the fact that there are two fewer home games at Wrigley this year due to the Japan series (and there is no information on if season ticket holders will have an opportunity to purchase tickets for that series), the price per game actually is going up ~7%.
    A ~7% price increase for a team that (yet again) didn't make the playoffs seems a bit steep in my opinion.

    • @Youngstomata
      @Youngstomata 2 дня назад

      Could a small factor be based on schedule? If they play a lot of “top tier” teams those games usually yield higher ticket prices

    In this way….he crowds the plate and tries to pull ball out front. Rizzo would go the other way at times. He may of been more willing to do that considering the shift rules in his prime. He works counts and is

      @TheLearningCatalystCoach 3 дня назад +1

      He'll be there by 2026, or possibly mid/late 2025(Cam Smith is destroying the minors already). Otherwise, who are the superstars you're getting?
      -Jose Ramirez?(Not likely moving and he's getting old to give more big $)
      -Matt Chapman? (Aging, not amazing hitter, defense still great but fading)
      -Austin Riley? Is that really a dramatic improvement offensively and defensively, consistently?
      -Machado? Not worth the money or lazy running and aging.
      What superstar 3B are there these days? It's not the loaded position it used to be.
      With the market of actual elite 3B, the Cubs are MUCH better riding a pretty good Parades until Cam Smith is ready, and investing/trading 2025 for 1) elite closer 2) Starter 3) Catcher 4) a high level bat (OF and let Bellinger walk or trade Happ?)...trading Hoerner is becoming a high possibility and smart move.

    The Cubs need another catcher. Amaya gotta go. I'd keep the other dude. They need to learn how to hit and also hit with runners on. They take WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUY too many strikes in hitter's counts. Suzuki is the worst. So a new hitting philosophy means a new coach. They need a manager who starts ordering his batters to swing in a hitter's counts. Flash the signal to the 3b coach. It's a 2-0 count with runners on 1st and 2nd and nobody out. SWING. They need 8th and 9th inning pitching help. All they have to do is swing the bat. Put the ball in play. PCA needs to learn how to run the bases. But he's a star and needs to hit leadoff. I would get rid of Isaac at 3rd and bring up some AAA talent, as he's ready. I would not trade Nico. So, they need another starting pitcher, a closer, a catcher,. a 3rd baseman and as a team? Swing at 2-0, swing at the first pitch fastball down the middle. Trade Suzuki. He strikes out too much. He is hitting in the .270s. He'd be a .300 hitter if he wasn't so timid and meek. Belli is staying and can play RF. And get something for J Wicks.

    Good grief Olbur. Stick to baseball. You’re absolutely clueless and I do mean CLUELESS ABOUT THE NFL.
    “5 yard penalty just cost you 3 points”
    Here’s a free lesson, Olbur.
    Down.
    Distance.
    Time.
    You can’t sit there and say after the fact , that a 5 yard penalty cost you 3 points. That’s ridiculous.
    EVERYTHING Hou did or was going to do was always predicated on DOWN. DISTANCE. AND TIME.
    A 5 yard penalty was mute. And it’s disingenuous to say otherwise.
    Stick to baseball. I know you use Twitter to try to show off how smart you are but the NFL is over your head.
