Fun fact when I was at sdcc this past summer I went to the hasbro panel and at the end they gave away a few of their new ML out for free and I snagged this guy! He was the only one and I got him pretty early so that was a fun experience!
I wanted this but it literally costs $100 after tax in my country (Canada) no way im payin this much unless it goes on sale. Hasbro pricing people out of their products as normal..
I think a problem with collecting in general right now is that lots of reviews online are moreso just showcases of figures. The intentions of the videos isn't to be critical or deconstruct a figure, its closer to an unboxing. Which is fine, obviously, if people want to just show off their figures and share them online without being super critical its up to them. Its just a different kind of video and it still gets called a review, where in reality issues with the figure only get brought up if they're extreme and the thing is literally falling apart out the box. Just my two cents. Again, not throwing any shade at any particular kind of video, I think its just a discrepancy with the vocabulary in thumbnails and stuff, where critical reviews get mixed up and taken in the same light as more laid back unboxings and that leads to a lot of the community being overly forgiving of product flaws in expensive figs Anyways great vid as always, fair and gives reasoning for any gripes you have
I'll throw shade, Shartimusprime's so-called "reviews" are just product showcases. But yeah, I agree with you. And because of those types of "reviews," people just think real reviews are just hate campaigns
@chewymew It's honestly most of the toy "review" community. Dan Who, MCU Collector, Robo, Unparalleled, etc. Look, no shade to these guys as people, but they clearly have no idea what makes a good action figure. Flaws in pricing, in paint, in sculpt, they're all either ignored or excused by these guys on a personal basis. And they're fine to like figures in spite of their flaws. But they don't engage with these products with objective, critical lenses. It's a problem in just about every community. In the LEGO space, you've got the same yes men excusing poor product for insane prices, and just like in that community, I've taken to only a few more fair sources of information (shout out to Jangbricks. Just a beacon of fair and balanced critique).
Oh, I'll throw shade. Don't call it a review if it's a just a showcase where you're trying to get/retain free stuff from the companies. It's why I stopped watching anything shartmius ever puts out.

I think when I am able to find one, I'm going to split and bulk out the torso and repaint it. That's the one major thing I noticed, it looks good, but it's not nearly as broad as it should be. Plus a more detailed paint job across the figure won't hurt.
It's overpriced and undersized. For $60 it should have lights and sounds, we should be able to fit an Ironman inside. For 80 - 90, it should include an ironman that fits inside. That's my take on it. I ultimately skipped this 1 because I owned the Marvel Select version 2x for the cost of this guy. The select version was painted better and almost just as articulated.
the fact that it has sculpted finger articulation and it isn't functional is so stupid

Speaking of expensive figures, do you plan to review the Jean Grey and Pheonix Force set? Jean looks nice. I just wish there was a way to get her without the huge fire chicken.
I didn't hear or read of any plastic paint shortages experienced by toy manufacturers. Hasbro must have laid off their painters with the last lay-offs. Should Hasbro continue to demonstrate their lack of effort with these Marvel action figures, I wouldn't be surprised if they lose their Marvel license.
Glad you said that about the Sentinels more so they seem upscaled from the two pack with the Haslab proper Sentinel hands... and its cell shaded when 97 figures aren't but VHS ones are
Question of the day: I feel the price is a bit much. The torso swivel is ugly as all hell and that swirly plastic. The limited arm range also bugs me. I still really wanted a Hulkbuster that wasn’t that old rider figure, or mcu themed. I’ve seen this guy painted up and customized lately and absolutely love how it looks. I am surprised as hell you didn’t cover the detail or work they put into what’s beneath his chest armor. That alone makes me want to paint it up, and maybe keep the shell off to have it look like Stark is doing maintenance or working on this armor on my display.
Lol fair enough! Alright, also surprised there wasn’t an installation part of it. I heard it’s a pain to pop them on and was looking forward to your take on that experience.
The company knows people will still buy their products despite putting less efforts, if some sections of a figure are not matching, people will still buy it, if a metallic character has crappy marbelling, people will still buy it, if Tobey Maguire looks like a dad doing a bad cosplay, people will still buy it. If the people dont care, neither will the company.
I got this since the Selects isn't available & I was able to get this for $15 off. I do agree that it should have been cheaper but that's Hasbro for ya.
It's decent for Legends but the fact that you can get two of the select hulkbusters for the same price as this (you could back in the day, anyway) just lets you know it's really not that worth it. The whole counterpoint to this figure and it's price is that Select figure.
60 USD for almost any Hasbro product is insane. For that same price I can get an SHF with way more accesories and posability. Maybe I would pay that money to get a very very well done vehicle.
They already had the mold for venompool because they used it as a BAF. I believe this one is new (which makes their choices for the shape of it even more head scratching).
I get what you mean with to expencive but still worth owning. On a different note, please review that Deadpool & Wolverine yellow suit Wolverine. I'm so looking forward to that. I appologize in advance, but you're gonna go nuts over it and I, for one, am going to love your rant on that janky piece of crap 😅
@@AnthonysCustoms yes, the yellow suit Wolverine with the sleeves on the costume. I've seen a review about it, that guy was fanboying out of his mind and all I could think was:"can't wait to see Anthony rip this janky thing a new one." 😃

I have the Marvel Select version and as I have seen from the different reviews, I don't think this figure is worth the price they're asking. Aside from the size and articulation, Marvel Select has actually a better aesthetic than this one. It has better paint and shelf presence. I would only get this Hulkbuster if it goes on sale.😅
Big head and tiny shoulders is Marvel Legend's signature mold style isn't it? LOL This thing's big and cheap looking, especially the marbled plastic parts. ZD Toys has already made real metallic looking Iron Man for years, at a lower pricepoint. The ZD Red Snapper coming out is only $30, half the price and about the same size, with metallic paint all over.
We all care to some degree or another. The consumer has been backed into a corner it’s not a fun position to be in but it leaves you with few options I assume many collectors who were loyal to Hasbro for years at a time would have to be oblivious or just rich to not either move on to mafex and start putting their collections in the secondary market
If it's going to be $60 it needs to have A LOT of accessories, it needs to be a NEW mold not a repaint ( unless it makes sense) and maybe a vehicle.( If a single figure)
It definitely feels like a slightly larger build-a-figure without having to buy a wave of figures you dont really want. So i'm cool with that. Looks great next to the Extremis Iron Man too
I was lucky enough to find this figure at target during a promotion for a 10 off of 40 or a 20 off of 70. I grabbed this figure and a random spiderman. Haven’t opened it yet and it’s been a few weeks.
Found him at Target yesterday, and even with the 25% off coupon I just couldn't do it. If he was that Adi Granov art on the back would have been easy, I'd pay double probably, but $60 is way too much for that floppy guy with few accessories to boot.
Found one at my local target, didn't know the price and was gonna get him until I saw it was $60. The price is insane and thought it'd be the $40. Also the swirly on the stomach sucks, that was a big turn off and normally I don't care about it
I really dislike the price that it has (should be at most $45), and while I know the Select is the more affordable version in addition to the beautiful paint, I kind of wish there were alternate hands and probably an option to display Tony's head with better movement for the Hulkbuster headplate. Also those Sentinels should be around the $125-150 price range. Maybe slightly lower
This is $90 CAD, and it just looks meh. If it goes on sale I might consider it for a more comic looking one. Its just gonna be tough to compare it the Threezero MCU Hulkbuster, which is amazing
to me this should be $35. Maybe some would say that is way too cheap, but just the regular ML figures shouldn't be more than $20. They have almost no accessories, minimal paint, crap articulation, and poor proportioning. It just isn't work the price, but people keep shelling out money for them, so why would hasbro change?
This would've been good at $45. But that new Phoenix is $50 msrp so there's no chance in hell this will be less than that.

Honestly ,im looking at my Titan heroes ' kids toy ' that cost like $12 and it has a more detailed sculpt than this ,but i have always liked the mcu hulkbuster over the comic one . All that stupid chest pieces and stuff is just an uneccessary justification to charge a ridiculous price nobody needed that
I think its way overpriced and when 1st saw it thought looked pretty lazy the BAF Hulkbuster looked so much better but had to buy whole wave to get him should have rerelesed that figure for 60 with some updates possibly but thats just my opinion😅 awesome video Anthony always enjoy your reviews👍👍
I like the swirly plastic IF it makes sense. It doesn't look great on most armor and non-mystical or non-cosmic characters. That unpainted gold right next to painted gold... yeesh.
For Tony Stark to comfortable be in a Hulkbuster suit, it has to be at least 11' tall. This figure should've been around 11.5" or so, seeing as their 1/12th scale has gradually moved to around 1/11th scale for no good reason. And NO, it is definitely NOT doable.
$60 is expensive for figures. In all honesty, I would have bought this figure as a Hulk fan but I think the high price and it not being my preferred model kept me out. If this was the Modular type of Hulkbuster which actually fought the Hulk, I would have still bought it and think it's worth the price since it's not everyday you would get a Hulkbuster figure.
At $60 this thing is pretty overpriced imo. The different golds on him are pretty annoying. The milky/pearlescent gold on areas like his abs versus the sharper, metallic golds on his shoulders and face shouldn't be a thing at this price. For this price, you'd expect way better paint details throughout. I still like the figure but the Select looks somewhat more vibrant, especially with the gorgeous metallic red all over it.
I don't mind the swirly, I even like it sometimes, but I agree it's overpriced. It's also like the biggest missed opportunity that they have never released a mcu version. They keep doing these crap mcu figures no one wants, eternal eternals everywhere. This thing was in at least 2 of the damn movies, and it's design was about perfect. You're giving us the thanos doppleganger wannabes. They do this overpriced cartoon looking stuff. It's got good accents, but it just looks jank and cheap. Pretty sure I got that big dumb Detroit Steel figure for half this just after it's release. 7, is fair if not a bit generous.
Super nice figure but way overpriced. I kinda prefer the sculpt on this one over the Select, but for $30, almost the same amount of articulation and waaaaay more paint... the Marvel Select is a better figure, imo. I can't wait to see your Giant-Man review. Dunno if it's the photos I've watched but the plastic has a very cheap look.
To me, too expensive but still worth owning means the figure is still good, but the price is too steep. A figure that isn't worth owning is a shit figure that you probably wouldn't want if it was free.
Man I love big figures but Hasbro always drops the ball on them and gets lazy. Especially on their articulation. Like who does he have a big ugly swivel cut. If they're gonna price them high then it should be reflected with good articulation that works and looks seamless for the most part.
Just bought a Chinese knockoff Hulkbuster for like 15 bucks off Temu that has way better paint and more detail than this guy It's sad when a $15 knockoff is way better than a $60 Marvel Legends
Definitely overpriced! It is a cool looking fig, something I certainly want to add to the rest of my Ironman collection. But I'll be waiting for some type of discount or sale. And to all the Hadbro loyalist, they are dicking customers over, simple as that. There is zero excuse for a multimillion dollar toy company to cut many corners on a very popular IP. Great review sir 👍 Cheers 🍻
At this rate it’s harder and harder to defend hasbro. Damn it’s really sad to see from a colllectors standpoint how much the quality has just fallen. Damn you hasbro. Not even mad anymore just straight up disappointed.
Too expensive, you lot would buy something a quarter that size if it said “Mafex” on the box and it would be twice the price and fall apart if you dared try and pose it. Also do you understand the concept of forced perspective in a 2D picture. Of a comic book character?!
Fun fact when I was at sdcc this past summer I went to the hasbro panel and at the end they gave away a few of their new ML out for free and I snagged this guy! He was the only one and I got him pretty early so that was a fun experience!

If you compare this and the marvel select which is half the price and has more detail, it’s crazy to me how this wasn’t $20 cheaper
It will be in a few months ;) lol. It doesn't look as cheap here but yeah not even close to £60

Meanwhile Hasbro just had another round of layoffs…
Super nice figure but way overpriced.
I kinda prefer the sculpt on this one over the Select, but for $30, almost the same amount of articulation and waaaaay more paint... the Marvel Select is a better figure, imo.
I can't wait to see your Giant-Man review. Dunno if it's the photos I've watched but the plastic has a very cheap look.
It'll be here soon
I gree with you with the price and quality. Another good example are their Transformers.
The Select is better.
Just bought a Chinese knockoff Hulkbuster for like 15 bucks off Temu that has way better paint and more detail than this guy
It's sad when a $15 knockoff is way better than a $60 Marvel Legends
I didnt get it i alteady have the select one forma $20..this should not be no more than $30
Too expensive, you lot would buy something a quarter that size if it said “Mafex” on the box and it would be twice the price and fall apart if you dared try and pose it.
Also do you understand the concept of forced perspective in a 2D picture. Of a comic book character?!
