I was back and forth on picking this Haslab up, and I ended up not getting it. After watching your review I’m actually very happy that I passed on it! The eye gimmick I find tacky, and I don’t like how they look no matter what position you had them in. I still find something off with the faceplates, and I don’t like how the hands came out. This is one of the few marvel figures I’m happy I passed on! Glad you like it, and hope anyone else who got it is happy with it!
I'm with Shartimus on this one. I got my Giant-Man in the mail a few days ago and I genuinely could not be any happier with it! It is such an amazing figure in person and it really is a dream come true for hardcore Marvel comic fans. When this was in the funding period, I remember a lot of people trying to argue that Giant-Man was an irrelevant C-lister and a wasted choice for a Haslab, but those people could not have been any more wrong. Giant-Man truly is a must-own for a classic Avengers display
Glad that you're diggin' it Shartimus. This is a grail for me since the character is one of my favorites. It definitely looks like it's going to be an awesome centerpiece to my Avengers collection.
I think this was the figure that ended Haslab. Hasbro clearly DIDN'T meet the goal in units and "fixed" the minimum on the last day. If this was really successful, we would see more Hasbro Legends Haslabs. Great for those who got it, but this was a Win for people who decided not to get it and those who did.
The eyes suck balls… the only ones that are straight on are the zombie ones…. Guess my Giant man is gonna have to go with those zombie eyes and look like he has been up for days playing Marvel based video games and drinking Red Bulls and smoking pot…. Oh well….
This figure is so awesome! Maybe I'm wrong but I think it would be cool to have a new version of Toy Biz size Giant-Man. Bigger than regular figure but not as giant as this HasLab.
So pumped I got this. I love it. Sad about the lack of Skrull head but it's all good. Also hoping a custom creator will make all-white eye plate available for zombie head, a la Kirkman Marvel Zombies.
Was only 150 backers short of the Skrull head…. Hasbro should have just thrown it in or reduced the price but nope they kept it at 200 bucks and no Skrull head but I guess they couldn’t accept a 30,000 dollar loss…. 🙄
Hey shartimus, you might want to get in contact with hasbro cause they did package the giant man with 2 sets of side eye parts, so you have to call them up to get a pair of front facing eyes.
Excellent review! I really liked how you went through every inch of the figure while commenting. Felt like I got the grand tour. I would have liked more time spent on the normal face plates as some look really creepy and/or evil with certain eyes. Your straight eyes didn't look "straight" enough to me. If I were you, I'd have asked for a replacement. Wonderful posing and great pics, but some highlighted how articulated eyes would have been better, specifically for looking up.
Thanks so much! I just disagree with the articulated eyes thing. As I have several hot toys and import figures with articulated eyes, centering those things is a big pain. Me just using the looking down eyes works really for me.
Just wanted to let people know Hasbro *will* be sending out replacement Giant Man eyes, but you have to email Pulse and confirm your order number, etc and they'll get you on the list for replacements to ship in Mid-December
I wouldn’t mind if they did an 18” Giant Man as a pre-order like Dragon Man. I’m hoping we see a lot of big characters like that we might not see otherwise. Goliath, Surtur, maybe an updated Fin Fang Foom. I don’t need or have the space for any more figures the size of the Haslabs but there are some characters I’d love to have that could benefit from an 18” or so figure. They could scale back on the articulation and detail from the Haslab slightly too
This is kinda off subject. But I wonder why no one ever poses Hank Pym with Tigra. They literally dated for awhile and they technically have a kid together. I say technically because it was a Skrull who got Tigra pregnant but the Skrull literally had 100% of Hank’s DNA and when he(the son) was blood tested the kid was Hank’s because the Skrull had Hank’s dna after she(because yes it was a female Skrull go figure lol) but she had Hank’s dna, memories, and abilities. And Hank and Tigra was dating at the time when she got pregnant. But Hank literally claims the son as his own child. But I wonder why that’s never brought up in comics or by people who know about it? But I just thought that I’d let people know because Jan and Hank have been divorced for like 50 years now in the comics lol. And last I know Jan was dating Ironman.
Looks good for the most part - not digging those eyes, though, especially the ones that look down - you should be able to see way more of the iris. Would have been nice if they were at least slightly adjustable.
I liked it very much, I have some critics though. The articulation cuts specially the ones in the elbows are very bad, they should have been sculpted to look like bent elbows and the shoulder's may be a bit small. Other than that it looks very good to me, without having him in hand ofc. Unfortunately I missed out on this figure because I was having some financial problems at the time it was announced. The truth is I had to distance myself from action figures altogether so I wouldn't be tempted or allow the FOMO to hit me hard so I didn't even knew it was going to be released through Haslab crowdfunding. I don't know if the Giant-Man was available on the European Haslab but the other two giant figures where not. I'm a very big AF collector and a big ML collector but I don't own a single giant ML figure and that is very sad. The Haslab crowdfunding made me miss on the first two (because they where only released in the USA and the UK) and now I had to miss the third one due to money issues at the time of it's crowdfund so crowdfund is not something I love specially when 110.1 million dollars companies like Hasbro are the ones doing them. The aftermarket prices on these figures is astronomical, specially if you add the international shipping and import taxes (the regular price point is already way bigger in EU) so unless I find one that I can get for a reasonable price point I wont ever own any of these giant ML action figures. Thanks for the review Shartimus.
Is this Giant-Man going to be released for the collectors who didn't get to back him, or will he forever be a lost piece to some of our collections? Keep up the awesome work, Shartimus! 👽✊️
I have an 18 inch Spider-Man figure from the 2nd Sam Raimi movie and I haven't been able to think of anything to customize him into. Maybe he could be your 18 inch Giant Man.
That's the problem with reviews like yours, I'm sorry, but you saying "whatever" over the Skrull head after being only short a lil over 100 backers sends a message to Hasbro team, like it's okay. Even after Ryan Ting clearly stated that the tiers were included with the base price. So Hasbro is making tiers "hostage" for more $ to get something that's already included with the base price. They even said themselves that if it was just 30 mins more, it would have "unlocked." That's why I'm sure at least 10-20% of the people canceled their 2nd Giant Man for a GM VS. GM Skrull display. If Hasbro were smart, they should have included it as a "surprise" for their costumers. If they had done that, I guarantee you, it would have put a shine of light on Hasbro, like "Okay, maybe they actually do care" as their motto says, "fans come first." Don't get me wring it's a nice and amazing figur, but come on, not Haslab worthy, as you can see with the X-MEN 97 Sentinel proves otherwise.
Great review! It's a totally cool figure. Speaking of Goliath, I was looking for your review on the Marvel Legends, What If... Goliath figure. It doesn't look like you did one. I know the wave sucks but the Goliath figure is the exception. I think it's awesome!
I'm really bummed I missed out on this one. He looks super good. I would really like to see someone post a side by side with the 18" toybiz movie Spidey. Still love my Galactus. But not having Giant Man or Sentinel, I feel like I screwed up.
How are you not stressing the joints in the fingers? I just opened it and upon realizing I wasn’t bending the fingers I was bending the pegs of the joints themselves, I’m too scared to mess with his hands. Because the middle fingers have stress discoloration on the joints now.
Annoying… I like him I really do but he’s always sounded so unenthusiastic and the way he talks about a figure and justifies why it sucks sounds so egotistical. He will defend his opinion on all of us being suckers but more times than not he’s in the minority regardless of the figure is good or bad Not to mention because he thinks he’s a god at sculpting and customizing he can tear into things as if his mediocre stuff is any better… clearly he’s not that great which is why his work hasn’t been picked up by any companies.
It’s so odd in my opinion that hasbro made this figure look so different than other marvel legends, but at the same time so similar (and not in a good way). The face is toooo realistic compared to other legends, the texture on the suit is really nice but weird when you put it next to normal comic figures that almost never get any texture on them and the paint is really good while the regular figures don’t get any shading. In addition, I feel like if you pay 200$ or more, you should get better articulation/ better articulation set up with a ball joint at the lower torso.
Is everyone else not getting forward facing eyes? Looks like alot of us are only getting downard facing eyes and two left looking eyes. There's also the Zombie eyes which are fine.
Awe shartimus don’t b a chump and accept those eyes botch, you better raise some hell and demand a replacement, I’m getting mine Monday and if my eyes are botched you best believe I’ll contact hasbro to fix the issue, these figures are too damn expensive to accept their screwup

It’s crazy to think that TOYBIZ used to put details like this on ALL of their figures
And it was for a cheaper price.
Shame they went defunct
@@venomfan2020 It is unfortunate. Now we have people who gaslight themselves into thinking Hasbro is doing great with the line.

A 1/4 scale MCU Ant-Man could have been used in the Marvel Legends line as a MCU Giant Man…. Missed opportunity on Neca’s part.
maybe my favorite thumbnail ever!
