No mention of the roster cuts? Like half the dang Ninja Turtles?!
leo and mikey in the first game, raph and donnie in the second. seems fair to me
@@blissfulstatic2563That's dumb logic... that's like saying it's okay to cut Wario in Smash if he was simply replaced with Waluigi... but it doesn't work like that.

genuinely a fun game lol, played it for shits and giggles but got really hooked. fun time.
It's unironically one of the most fun games I've played but it's also a buggy mess
@sirdumbo its a garbage trash game
i just heard about it today
the first one is so stupid
60$ without voice actor lol
most gacha game is free and fully voiced
My main thing that got rubbed wrong way was not have all characters from the first game
It is disappointing, but they did have to remake the game from the ground up, WITH the time constrictions they had. So, it's kind of to be expected that some characters had to be cut. But some definitely were on purpose, like Lincoln Loud, or Hugh Neutron.
Personally I still don’t understand how the main character of the show got cut but one of the side characters remained
@@onehappyboy3029 Well, if you weren't aware, one of the devs fought hard for Lucy to get into the first game, so I guess I understand that if you had to choose between Lincoln or Lucy, they'd choose Lucy.
@@mayhemmonkeylol I mean if they were allowed to pick I would 100% do the same..I'm just more so shocked they were given the choice
@@mayhemmonkeylol Thats understandable, but in my opinion i think they could choose better who to cut, as they basically cut almost half of the characters from the first game.
The movement in nasb2 is genuinely some of the most fun I’ve ever had in a platform fighter, like I’ve literally spent hours on road trips just playing level 9 CPU’s on random
Dan “dr disrespect” Schneider
Edit: I think I replied to the wrong comment
I'm sorry to hear that
Actually, it did really well financially. Sure, its not extremely popular, but it even got dlc and has its own loyal fanbase.
I bought the 2nd one and not the first. I'm glad it has a smaller community. Hence less toxicity, kinda like the Smash 64 scene. Anyways I think this game is very underrated. I think the big problem is as an indi team I understand not adding the "Everyone is Here" thing but keeping the original roster at least and adding more each game would have been nice. That's one of the problems I think... And just... It's Nick and not Cartoon Network 😅 That's what Multiverse is I guess it's the only competitive Cartoon Network (and more) Punch Time Explosion we'll ever get.
I feel NASB 2 is faster, less floaty and the Slime Meter is a really good *different* feature that no other Platform Fighter has and honestly the Slime Meter is what makes NASB now stand out over the other two Platform Fighters.
Would love to see an NSAB 3. But I don't know if it's going to happen :(
I really wanted Carl Wheezer but I'll settle for Mr. Krabs. Ember, SpongeBob, and Ren & Stimpy are a lot of fun too 🦀
I think the best thing to do is add a character from every single cartoon that popped off and iconic, the most from the 90's, early 2000's, and 2010's, and clearly a bigger roster. But add ALL the SpongeBob characters that have been in the first two games, add all 4 Turtles and Shredder, add all the Avatar characters that were in the first two games, add Jimmy Neutron, Carl Wheezer, and Hue Neutron, keep Helaga back and get rid of the Grandma (makes since the Grandma is a fighter actually, but still Helaga is cooler the Grandma and has an anger problem that makes since), add Reptar AND Chucky Chan, keep Nigel, keep Ren & Stimpy, add a different Monster or keep Oblina, keep Jenny, etc
But like add more from 90's like keep every at least 1 iconic character from each 90's cartoon added to the game, but I'd love to see Otto from Rocket Power instead of Jerald, Yackiti Yack, Blick from Cat Scratch, honestly stopped watching Cartoons a little close to the 2010's so I'm unfamiliar with some of those and onward but anyone can list more
@@pokeguitaristjake6300
The First Game & Second Game should have been in the same Game Engine
So it should be possible to link the two games together
On the DS there's a Dragon Ball Game that can link to an One Piece Game and allows Goku to fight against Luffy
So this isn't an Impossibility as it was done before
Then the only thing they would need to do is to add The Voice Lines of interactions between the characters of Both Games and that's it
Then they could even do a Third Game with even more New Characters and Less Old Characters (unless they want to Redo them like April O'Neil)
In the grand scheme of things, NASB2 hasn't made a dent in the market. It's a failure.
@@dogg-paws You know nothing about the market
The oringinal did get a voice acting update
Ya but to little to late
@@EpikMamu it was to late they should’ve added it before releasing the game
@@Chillchildren999 that unfortunately wasnt the devs fault. in fact, they had to fight for a lot of things that were later added to the game....like voice acting...and costumes...and music licencing rights.... and more....
It did, but it was a bit too late and it only got a semi voice acting mod to last until the official drop, which in some cases was better or worse than the official voices. It depends on the voice clips in the mods, but it stuck to the original vas unlike the official which had to replace a few (like Danny for some reason was replaced in the first game, Aang was understandable due to age, Toph was replaced even though the va can still voice her, ect.) But yeah I bought the first game and the dlc I even I felt ripped off when the second game came out and I haven't had a chance to purchase the second game. It's added in characters I actually wanted in the first, but then removed characters I thought should have stayed. :/
@@egbert5871 *too little too late
NASB2 just landed on Game Pass. 🙂
I’ve been playing it not stop since I found this out, it’s a genuinely fun game
The game isnt dead. You can get your own servers for up to 100 people for free. The tournament scene is alive and well. And it was recently featured at major tournaments like conbo breaker. Dead games dont end up at combo breaker
Right. And I’m sure we’ll get a third NASB game in 2025.
@@benmalsky9834 take your sarcasm and shove it😂😂. Whether we get nasb 3 or not 2 is genuinely one of the better options on the market rn. Even if the series ends at 2 I'll be playing this game. It's just damn good.
@@drdepression4605 Yeah, it and MultiVersus are both doing the job of a Smash Bros alternative very well.

seeing invader zim pulping the fuck out of patrick was something i did not know i needed
The sad thing is, the second one actually slaps, it’s great fun and if you find it on sale I’d highly recommend it
Why is this so underrated
This is the same problem with every Nickelodeon game. Poor budget. Nickelodeon just wants to profit off fans of their propertes and know video games make money, they don't really care enough to give their dev teams the necessary funds to make a truly outstanding game even if the devs are capable of it. NASB is a good game. It just lacks the polish that make a game like that feel like it was a good investment. If Nickelodeon had more faith and gave them NASB2's budget the first time they likely would have seen better success
You aren’t aware how bad the studio they hired for it is huh?
Do you two even know which company that got license to make there games that also published 2 very interesting games that you probably already heard somewhere? (I'm talking about Big Rigs and Skull Island Rise of Kong)
@Jul-fu4yu They made Slap City they are qualified, and they made ASB2 they just needed that kind of money the first time
@@saha-7129I think they mean the publisher. GameMill is kind of infamous for getting somewhat decent licences and dumping out cheaply made shovelware-tier games. NASB is probably one of their better titles and that's only because Ludosity (the developers) did the best they could with what they were given.
GameMill is also to blame too
That's a lie, I still play this game 😭
The original did add more characters and voice acting. But I think the damage was sadly done due to people’s first impressions at launch.
Ngl I did not realize NASB, Multiversus and NASB2 where different games I thought Bugs Bunny could beat up Spongebob
I bought it and I regret nothing
Of course the Nickelodeon logo is a foot 💀 (Dan Schneider ahh logo)
NASB2 was definitely my game of the year last year. Shame it got so neglected
I wouldn’t say it was “neglected”, people talk about games in a weird way nowadays, like data is supposed to tell you everything about how a game is received. I remember the days when a game came out, it got good reviews, and that was it, they didn’t keep track of how many people were playing afterwards, it just came and went, they made DLC, then made the next game.
"neglected" they released uncle Iroh from TLAB and Rocksteady from TMNT, 4 big patch notes, and got into gamepass within the span of 3 months, the dev team is doing crazy work which is really what they should've done since the beginning
Me still playing All Star 2 and excitedly waiting for Iroh to drop
Its not fair, they got a small budget for the first one
I don’t understand why they could have waited to make it then?
@@po0kiex Nick probably didn't care.

I’m probably buying when it goes on sale 😅
If youre even kind of interested, the 2nd game is on sale on steam rn
They always say, first impressions are the most important
The sequel is so good in comparison lmao
atleast they didn't employ the best coder of the last two decades and then refuse to pay him like multiversus did.
Is this the sort of language people used when going from the original Super Smash Bros to Melee? It’s perfectly natural for a sequel to improve on the first one, and people will love it.
The difference with Smash Bros is that the original wasn’t really lacking anything (it feels outdated now, but that’s only because the sequels improved on it so much, back then there was basically nothing wrong with it), and Melee didn’t remove any content or characters from it.
Well except for the Board the Platforms minigame, but I don’t think anyone’s playing Smash Bros for Board the Platforms.
@@DaSheepKiller But in my opinion, NASB never lacked anything. It’s all good.
@@DaSheepKiller I am allowed to think that this is the same as Smash Bros. where the original is good but the sequel is better.
@@benmalsky9834 in that regard, they’re definitely the same. Also some people are just biased towards other platform fighters, mainly Smash Bros.
That and a lot of fan favorite characters were cut
Rip Leo and Mikey
I didnt even know this existed until today, im actually dissapointed that i didnt find out about this sooner, as a big Invader Zim fan i really love how they did him there
They actually did have voice acting added to nasb 1, bout a year after it's release, and they also added items too similar to smash
I really don't get why studios with popular IPs often don't make high budget videogames. Many people would love to play a Triple A Avatar, Ben 10 or Gravity Falls videogame, but they don't make them for some reason
true
Unpopular Opinion: I like the first NASB over the second one. Certain characters got to be in it, characters that I preferred in the game over those who debuted in the second game, and it felt more Nickelodeon.
I just like to call it Garfield super smash bros rbh
It's crazy how he really thinks the game died out solely because of the flaws of the first one. I know many, many people who were holding out their hope for the second game, myself included. Yes, the features were flawed, but a platform fighting game heavily relies on the game modes and characters. If you don't have fun game modes to spice things up, people won't wanna play the game. If you don't have good OR fun characters, people won't wanna play the game. And if you HAD good players, yet decided to cut them in a sequel, people will STOP playing your game.
Cutting characters like Toph, Sandy, Shredder, Leonardo, etc. was the major downfall, as it interferes with one of the two major aspects of a fighting game; the characters. Even if they HAD to cut characters, they should've thought more about it, or look at the popularity of certain characters. I remember when I played online and almost EVERYONE played Toph and Shredder. Other characters should've stayed, but I think it's cutting those two specifically that made this game drop in ratings.
Moral of the story: first impressions matter
To be fair, Multiversus being a free to play is anything but a good thing.
The roster cuts were the weirdest to me, Lincoln Loud, Oblina, Leo & Mikey, CatDog, Powder Toast Man, Sandy, Toph, Helga, Shredder, & Hugh Neutron were all part of the roster in the first but cut for the second, my main question is just, why? The roster of 2 isn’t even that big so bringing back all of the 1 roster & adding the new characters would’ve made a lot of sense, but they just chose not to (plus it’s weird to me that Hey Arnold, the titular character from his show, is not the series rep in either game)
Yeah, im a A!RM fan and im really disappointed that they cut Oblina from the sequel, justice for her >:c .
fun thing in the original is that if you backslam as reptar onto tommy's ball, your game crashes!
I have played both extensively but basically only stick to NASB1 now. Game just feels so fluid and even if servers are dead running games with friends is peak
Nick 2 having only two turtles was insane
I actually really like this game whenever my friend comes over to my house we just play this
The first game was only 40 dollars. The new one is 60 but 80 if you count dlc and skins. The biggest problem with the sequel and what I think killed it, is they spit on the face of the small fan base it did have by getting rid of literally half the original roster. Most of the fan favorites aren't in the game anymore. The roster is the same size as first one but it feels less because there's 10+ characters missing from the first game.
i’m still blown away by the fact that it even got a sequel 2 YEARS after the first one. like why?? just update the game you’ve already made
Lesson: Don't release your game half-assed!
I think the voice actor thing was because at the current time the Voice actors for the Older characters like Korra and Danny and Ect where all busy or retired
The game was $50 for nick all-stars brawl
I'm going to be real. I didn't even know there was a sequel until i watched this video.
Funny enough, now they have a collaboration between one of their biggest IP (spongebob) and the videogame called Brawl stars.
Imagine just making a good game the first time and then adding all the stuff you should’ve added before release in free updates, what a crazy concept
Since Paramount hasnt been doing too well financially as of right now. Its been difficult to think about nasb 2. And since the game was on xbox game pass, it had been given a decent impact. Just waiting for it to be available for ps plus members too. A nice idea that I hope to see in the future is the 3rd installment becoming an upgrade from Nickelodeon all star brawl 3 to either Paramount all star brawl or Paramount Super or Superstar Brawl. Big library of franchises from Paramount and 3rd party too
I genuinely loved the first NASB. Sure it was glitchy, had no voice acting for a long time, and had zero online players, but for playing locally with friends on a couch it was still dumb fun
I liked the PS2 brawl with Ratchet and Clank
Game wasn't 60 dollars, it was 50, but yeah I'd say even 30 was probably too much for that first game
Played the first one a bit, didn't even know a second one came out
Imagine if it was cancelled, that'd suck honestly if it never existed
Man, after seeing Gamemill get roasted after Quest for Balance and Rise of Kong is surreal
The problem is the usual: The devs look at Competitive Smash Melee and think they solely defines a platform fighter. But in actuality, most people play casually and want an item mode. Heck, you release in this era, you gotta also have a story-mode.
Dan Schneider should be the final boss in the game, and he does 2x damage on underage characters.
Sad because the game was actually pretty good
I remember playing this as a Flash game on the Nick website like a decade ago. I spent like hours in it. My favorite was Plankton, who's mindcontrolling a big fish.
That was a completely different game.
@@Bubbabyte99 really? What was it called. I haven't played it in ages.
@@senny- Nickelodeon Super Brawl. Honestly, I see why you got confused, considering they both have "Nickelodeon" and "Brawl" in the title.
Oh you forgot the worst offenses: NO ACTUAL MOVE OR COMBO LIST AND IF I REMEMBER CORRECTLY NO PAUSE MENU AS A WHOLE
Also RIP to Martin Mual who played a character in Danny phantom
I literally only started Nick all star brawl 2 because it came out on gamepass and frankly it’s more fun to play than multiversus, especially if you don’t have time to grind out the battlepass every season for the cooler items, heck putting a character as a premium battlepass reward even if it’s the first reward is kinda scummy when you do the math to realize there’s no guarantee you’ll be able to afford the battlepass with the free rewards
NASB3 better combine both rosters, otherwise that's gonna be a huge bummer.
don't worry, multiversus also died, tried to resurrect, and instead just died again.
nick just straight let all the developers go without pay
Nickelodeon all star brawl 2 should have character interactions before the fight just like in mortal kombat

It's REALLY fun, ngl. It's on xbox gamepass rn and I believe also on sale currently, so uf you're even the slightest bit interested, i'd say it's worth a try!
Being one game in then CUTTING CHARACTERS in only the SECOND game is fucking disgusting.
On top of that, the NS version of NASB2 is lagy af sometimes. They still have yet to fix it.
I bought both games and enjoyed the little time I spent with them. The first game was like a beta version of the second, essentially NASB1 walked so that NASB2 could run. The thing that ruined NASB2 for me was the significantly cut down roster. Some cuts were so egregious (Toph for example) it almost convinced me not to purchase the second game. That and the devs were not very transparent on who was cut initially.
If the game had it's full roster and more support I'd have spent more than a week playing it. The slime mechanic is really cool and fun, but my favorite character and reason for buying the first game being gone pretty much killed all motivation for me to care.
I'm just waiting for a sale of the physical copy. That's what I did for the first game.
And one of those people who didn’t buy Nickelodeon all star brawl is me
I knew that theyre will be a 2nd game but I just heard from your video that it's actually released by now 😅
using steam player graph is exactly what made people on youtube think the first one flopped, when it actually made stupid money, and the reason the second game got greenlit.
its freaky as hell how a seemingly dead game is actually successful, but someone's got to be buying all those copies.
I brought the second one the day it came out and played it for literally 2 hours and NEVER touched it again. Haven’t even downloaded it since either 😂
The game was published by GameMill, who have released what some consider some of the worst games ever, such as Avatar The Last Airbender Quest for Balance, The Walking Dead: Destinies, and Big Rigs: Over the Road Racing.
Battle for volcano island was the dope
It didn’t fail how many copies were sold
public reception.
fighting games are a hard genre to get people into and keep playing, so the negatives presented with the first game burned people from checkingout the second.
I literally was just on the EShop yesterday and saw the first one 75% off and i messaged my friend like "ayy yo?!?" And he said something shocking: "oh yeah that makes sense cause the second one came out already"
When i tell you, i was flabbergasted my dudes. I hadnt heard of the sequel AT ALL. We heard about all the disappointments in the first one that we didnt even bother buying it at the time and thus i completely removed the entire game out of my mind.
And no Tim Curry recordings for Nigel. Not even old show recordings
