  • Progressive Insurance ‪@progressive‬ told us our bent and broken frame on our ‪@GrandDesignRVTV‬ Grand Design Solitude fifth wheel camper cannot be towed. So, they arranged for it to be hauled away.
But was it dangerous the way it was done? Were we right to be there when it was towed away?
    How sketchy was it?

I’m Ssooo happy that things worked out for you with Progressive Alice and Larry. We had Progressive for our Airstream. When we first got insured the rep asked what is its value, I said $20,000 so they used that to calculate my premium. I thought that was the value if it got totaled. When I got the policy it stated replacement value would be $3,000 I called them and they said they asked the value so they can charge me accordingly but if I wanted the replacement value it would be a different premium. So they recalculated a higher premium and the new policy showed replacement value $20,000. Fast forward 4-5 years later and my premium went through the roof for 2024 I called to see what is going on and to my surprise they had gone back to a replacement value of $3,000. I got so frustrated I canceled and I only have the insurance while I tow with my truck. I’ll have to revisit this when I’m not so upset 😡

      Joe,
Wow. So sorry to read you went through this.
It could be a problem with your agent - our first Progressive policy was pure luck - they didn’t know much about RV insurance.
We aren’t sponsored or paid by Progressive- just an opinion.
“Let cooler heads prevail” and perhaps contact an RV insurance agent that specializes in RV insurance.
Good luck. Hope it works out,

Hi you guys.. I have not watched EVERY video but enough to understand what an ordeal you have been through. First let me say you have reignited my wanting to get a drone! I grew up in a camping family.. starting in 1968 with a pickup cap on Dad's new truck with an elevated bed and the floor of the truck for my brother and I to sleep in sleeping bags. In order we next had a pop-up, then a small travel trailer, then a 1977 Cobra class C - which had I refurbished many years later which continued my camping fever. After a couple of years using that camper, I purchased a 24 ft travel trailer. A couple of years later a 36 ft Hornet - the year Keystone bought that company. Again after a couple of years purchased a 36 ft Fleetwood Pace Arrow. This was my dream RV and enjoyed it several years. Well life happens, the economy went crazy and fuel and insurance became outrageous and work became too much to deal with so it was sold. Now fast forward to retiring soon and likely looking to getting back into the camping scene. Thank you for your Progressive story. I personally have been insured with them in the last few years and last year a lady backed into my car and Progressive was absolutely fantastic to work with! So good luck with your new chapter, I look forward to following you for new ideas and places to visit!!

      Rand, glad you found us.
We tented, then travel trailer, then Class B and now our second fiver.
I know what you mean about having to sell. Sorry about that.
But we are excited for you and your new adventures.
BTW - Larry used to build his own drones and race. The recent test he took for certification was intense. But he loves droning and I love the footage - so do viewers.
You have a few videos to catch up on 😉
Our RUclips community tab is more current and may show places we haven’t had time to publish videos about.

I'm not sure what exactly caused them to roll. My guess is the truck wasn't large enough (not enough weight) to hitch the truck which was a 3500. It was a steep hill right off the road with just a little dirt to the side. So perhaps he parked his tow truck in a precarious spot? Thank you for your first comment.
But I’m confused - how is this click bait? Almost all the other comments agree that this was sketchy? They actually used our same word
Perhaps your definition of click bait is different?
