having the steady grip is another great reason why i purchased the Yuneec 4k quadcopter! it's great to have when running around filming kids or sports events. i wish DJI has this feature too but oh wells...
+Luke Thompson true, but the yuneec grip comes with the quad and uses the camera from the quad. the osmo is a totally separate device. I see your point, but the two aren't really comparable.
awesome to know I can run it on alkaline batteries !! will still order rechargable for future , thanks for the videos, just got the Typhoon 4k last week
Hi andy, i really want to get the steady grip, i was thinking of using it for concerts and dance battles where they play loud music, i was wondering how well the microphone works on the 4k cam? is there a mic level setting? can you do a mic review? i know its on drones its not important cause all you hear is the motors but when its hand held like that, it should pick up better audio???
did you connect with drone using 2k or 5k wireless, or did you use a cable ? Where did you get the app ? It looked like you was controlling it with your smart phone ? You said us standard 4 AA batteries ? My steady grip says on the battery cover to use " Rechargeable NIMH AA Batteries ONLY ! What would happen if I used standard AA batteries. Also did you use the cable to plug into the steady grip to the back of the camera because those three slide on prongs didn't work with the drone either.
Very p(f)unny - great videos Andy. And hey, as long as it's a free addition, it is a nice extra. Plus the stability factor is super as well as the easy camera adjustments. I'll see you in the air :))
I've never been able to use my steady grip :( Anytime i click the in-app options it says "building..." only to give me a network error and disconnect the cgo3 wifi connection. If i access the camera it does this as well after a short black screen. Have not found a fix yet
Hello, I have a CGO3 camera and need to know the part number of the steady grip for my 4K camera and gimbal. Not sure all steady grip are compatible with the new 4k cam/GB. Thanks
which one would you prefer to own the yuneec 500+ or the dji phantom pro ?.... I know it depends on what u wan them for. but I'm asking what would you prefer to own personally?
Hey Andy. I watched your video at an RC show and heard you ask a question about the new SteadyGrip with the chargeable batteries but was not clear on what the answer was. Do you happen to know if it will be available soon and whether we can retrofit or with a trade in I wonder? With your contacts, you might already know the answer.........Cheers
+Steven Davidson Hi Steven, while no firm date was provided, I'm to understand that the new products Yuneec introduced at InterDrone are expected to ship in November. I was told the current Steady Grip models are not retrofittable and the new model is basically, a new model. On a related note, I just posted my first look at the DJI OSMO and I'm curious what others think of this handheld stabilizer. videosbyandy.com/dji-osmo-unboxing/
Great video btw, Question: will this work with the cgo3+. I've been hearing yes and no"s. Second question: I've heard that that there is a lipo battery mod, any insights on this?
Gadget Guru, I just got a Yuneec q500 4k a couple month ago and I've beee playing with it. I would like to ask you. Does your camera make a lot of noise? So basically while using the steadygrip and the camera to record video while holding it in my hand. if I turn on the audio in the settings. So basicaly i'm recording audio as well as I'm filming. It picks up the noise from the camera. I just heard hissing sound from the camera motors I guess. I was wondering if yours does the same thing. ?
Abel Casanova The two aren't comparable. The Yuneec uses the camera right off of the Quadcopter, while the Osmo comes with its own camera and costs an additional 500-600 dollars. IMO the Osmo is a waste of money.
Thank you very much for the great presentation video, I also congratulate you in every way! May you have more pleasant days and weekends in strength, health and peace, of course, just like that for everyone! Good luck! 😀👌📸👍🍀👁️☀️👆
Hi..can you say what's the name of the app your using..I have a android phone..love your videos by the way. The Q500 + is my absolute favorite drone. I just can't seem to like anything else...lol.
Hi Andy...I have the full Typhoon Q500 4K. What I have just learned and confirmed is that I can use my steady grip to hold my iPhone 6+, but I do not use the gimble mount with the cam mounted. I use it to let my clients see what I am shooting without them looking over my shoulder. They can hold my phone by the steady grip and they don't have to touch the cam and its screen thus taking the chance that they will over ride some settings. Its great. You can use an iPad as well. Just thought you'd like to know this.
@@TheGadgetGuru You answered me so quickly, it's unfortunate that you never answered them way back when you published the video. Thank you for responding.
Thank you for this! 1- it appears the lense is slightly fisheyed is this accurate? 2- Are there filters for the camera or atleast exposure settings in the app?
Yep! sure does. The camera can record audio (although not the best mic) and you can toggle the microphone on the camera itself via the Q500 Quadcopter or the Steadygrip
+hayabusacustoms This will happen when your battery gets low. This thing is a battery eating machine. 8 AA batteries might get you 10-15 minutes. There's a mod I'm going to do to ours to put a 1000mAh LiPo battery in it. I'm not a fan of having to keep 16 AA batteries recharged. Not sure if this is what was causing your issue but I singled it out after a couple of times trying to get more than 10-15 minutes of recording time. Hope that helps.
+hayabusacustoms Here's the mod I'm going to do. It'll get more run time with this setup apparently. Here's hoping! yuneec-forum.com/threads/how-to-simple-lipo-upgrade-for-the-steadygrip-tripple-run-time.554/

Hell, that's not even a problem to me, just carry the quadcopter, and start filming.

It still looked kinda shaky? NOt that stabled compared to other folks videos with the same set up. User Error?

thanks for another great video.
Is the closeness you get with the hand grip in 1080 120fps the same when its attached to the q500?

Cgo
Is there still a way to get the app for this gimbal?
Hi, why is CGO3 cam not detected on the smartphone? I have tried on several phones and none of them can detect this camera on the wifi network !!!
Did you figure it out ??? I have the same problem

That's correct! But, they need to keep the iPhone close to you so that you can see the framing of the camera!
he means while he's flying with the st10+
I wish the Gadget Guru would take a moment and answer the questions that were asked about the app!!
I would love to, but please understand that this video was produced seven years ago and I simply don't have the answers to your questions.
@@TheGadgetGuru You answered me so quickly, it's unfortunate that you never answered them way back when you published the video. Thank you for responding.

There is a small selection of filters available for the cgo3 camera. 3 I think
Does this thing have a tripod mount (1/2-20 hole)
I noticed you never talked about the pitch controller. I have one and can't get it to work.
Hit mode
This may be a stupid question (I'm mostly just curious) but is there any way for the camera to receive/record audio?
Yep! sure does. The camera can record audio (although not the best mic) and you can toggle the microphone on the camera itself via the Q500 Quadcopter or the Steadygrip
Is it good for
Making short video music clips ? Would you recommend or something else ?
Hi Andy, what type of audio wireless you used on your DSLR camera? Brand, etc. Thank you
On this video I used a wireless model from Azden that includes two body packs that operate with a single transceiver that mounts on the camera.
Oh thanks.. great.
Is the audio taken from the cellphone? my audio on the cgo3 is horrible?
Do you have a link for the app sir?
I have the same one but how to u charge it it . I plugged it in and it has to stay on I order for the charger to blink red
hey Andy what app are u using for your iPhone to connect to the steady grip
Greetings, my cell phone camera does not detect the drone , which type of cell devo purchase to avoid this problem ?
It needs to be a phone that can handle 5.8ghz wifi. some older models only support 2.4ghz.
Thank you for the great video!
I understand you can shoot in 4K on steady grip, but with CGO app the resolution setting only goes to 720p. Why is that?
My apologies. I mean the "RTSP Resolution" setting. Link: file:///Users/user/Desktop/IMG_3524.PNG
Is it possible to have sound from it?
does the gimbal system turn side to side as well as up and down
Hi. how did the battery last. I hear that battery is quite bad
does anyone recommend using this as a camcorder. like maybe for videoing child's baseball, football, etc
Hi Andy. I just received mine. Is the cam supposed to make noises when is on?
Yes
any way to use an external mic?
Q500 4k camera+SteadyGrip buy link?

Temmie gaming and memes you need 8 batteries
How do you know the password to connect the camera to the phone?
Disappointing. Our smart phones won't connect to steady grip. We see your ph connected so what phone do you have or what other phones work please?
Thanks Andy
Nice place
very mecánic movements
good
It doesn't work with the Iphone 6s
I want to be in my car. No WiFi there!
Hello sr
No WiFi now what?
It's junk I turn mine on gets going then hit records then looses connection
+hayabusacustoms That doesn't sound good. Is it still within the warranty period? If so, Yuneec has a good reputation in taking care of its customers.
+hayabusacustoms This will happen when your battery gets low. This thing is a battery eating machine. 8 AA batteries might get you 10-15 minutes.
