There is a mod to make icing bags and another bakery item function the same as the icing machine I used that mod to actually use it Also I think it’s life by you that showed how in their game it’s easy to make an item function as another item easily which means coding wise it’s probably not too hard, meaning idk why the Sims never did this

I wish traits like vegetarian and lactose intolerant were part of a secondary traits system or in the rewards store. I never use those traits because I rather use one of the three slots for something else

YES. I want retextured furniture, windows, kitchen cabinets, EVERYTHING. Seems like they retextured a basic couch in base game years ago but they only added two colors to that retexture and they’re not even neutral colors 😢 It would be a dream come true. Also, if they refreshed Dine Out to where you can actually run a restaurant and not just talk to the customers. I’d like to cook food and deliver it to the tables too. Not just hire random people when I don’t even have enough money to pay them for the day 😂

The cupcake machine is so iconic. I used to build really run down and overgrown cabins and I’d always have a sort of messy dump area in the back with the cupcake machine overgrown with plants like it was a relic from the start of the sims ahahah
Would have been great and realistic if they updated the cupcakes to not only be made in the oven, but to have them function for birthday parties to age up.
This would be awesome, at my first ever big birthday party with friends as a kid I had a cupcakes-cake and it'd be neat to do that for my sim kiddos too.
gelatin is actually extracted from animals, so it isn't vegetarian! they wrongly marked it as vegetarian-safe before and this update fixes that (alongside fixing other items both wrongfully marked vegetarian safe, and ones that are vegetarian but weren't marked as such)
I just hope they move cakes to the bake interaction because I’m am so tired of having to remember I have to “cook” a cake and clicking the wrong interaction first 😭
I also wish they had more of a variety for the cakes (minus the winter forest one). We should get red velvet, carrot, snickerdoodle, tiramisu, and more. Maybe a tres leches too. Its boring to only have choco and vanilla.
@@ashm003 There is currently chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, blue confetti, matcha, zombie, hamburger , honey, cheesecake and that's excluding the wedding pack cakes. I feel like tiramisu is somewhere in the game too.
What's sad is that people will say that now and then if it doesn't work to fix it or if it comes back in the future, people will act like they never fixed it this time and that it's been a problem for years and years. I say that because this isn't the first time they've fixed it/made an attempt to fix it. This is the second or third time around of this.

I think they don't want Sims to lose recipes when installing packs. So for example the base game doesn't have a separate Baking skill, so cakes are under Cooking. If install (I think) Get to Work, the Baking skill comes with it. So if Get to Work also moved the cakes to Baking, then a sim who had previously made cakes using Cooking would "forget" how to make cakes until they trained up Baking.
I would really have liked it if they updated what foods are considered healthy. Right now I think it’s only garden salad and fruit salad. So if we want the Health Food Nut Lifestyle those two are the only ones that count towards getting it. I just feel like there should be more healthy foods in the game than two or three
I share the same memory of manually making ice cream but with my grandma in the countryside, she is now 100 years old. We will cherish those moments forever. I'm lucky to still have her at 32 🥰

I am an avid CAS simmer and the missing VFX was so annoying! I love seeing all the different reactions to certain traits but then it wouldnt play and I would be like wth?? Im so happy they updated it, and the new UI for cooking is AMAZING!! I wish it was here before I made both of my sims become Celeb Chefs w/ lvl 10 Cooking and Gourmet Cooking... it wouldve been much easier to select all the food when I wanted them to eat specific dishes!
I remember when I first got get famous, and a fan of my sim sent a package in the mail of cupcakes. Up until that point, i didn’t even know there were cupcakes in the game! I then tried the oven, fridge etc trying to figure out how to bake them for myself. Never did I imagine I needed that massive machine to make them 🤣 I feel like I’ll actually bake them now they are free!
I learned how to build basements just for the cupcake machine...it became the mysterious place "mom" disappeared to and came back with all kinds of treats for her family...
Since the cupcake machine will be invalid due to recent update, I think updating the cupcake machine to allow it to make bigger batches than a regular oven would be nice, probably so to sell it in a bigger batch on the upcoming cooking pack.

Aaw I was really hoping the lag for the cooking menu if you have high cooking skill would be fixed with this update, that was pretty much the sole reason I quit my 100 baby challenge because it got so annoying cooking for everyone when you had to wait forever to open the menu 😂

Yay, I've updated my game while watching. I've barely played with the cupcake machine. I like to play in the apartments and tiny homes so there definitely wasn't any space for that. I was waiting for the recipe UI update so much, it makes me so happy that it's finally here! And the bug fixes for plants & bees are very welcome since I love being a Sim farmer. It's so anticlimactic when a tree reverts into a seed out of the blue. I don't know if I'll store the photos in the boxes and the family inventory though - they've fixed it before already and it keeps breaking. Oh, and you could put the microwaves into the inventory before in the University pack but it worked only with the cheapest ones for some reason and now the more expensive ones are listed too! If everything works as it should that's a good update for sure.
I never have used the cupcake machine so for me this is a first exploring the cupcakes 😂 i recently thought about a kit for cats. I know this could be another my first pet stuff gate but i thought about baskets with cushions or little cat tents and some cartons, because we all know that cats prefer the box from a toy rather than the toy itself😂 and wall mounted cat trees, like modules you can place on the wall in a specific distance so the cats can jump from one to another. With bridges and ropes. I think that could be cool. Anyway. Love you simsie ❤
When LilSimsie said you can drag small appliances, I didn't think about dragging an item with a mouse, I pictured a Sim dragging a microwave around town by its cord. And I thought, why would they have them transport it like that. Why not carry it? 😂

You need not bid complete farewell to the cupcake machine--you still can't bake the factory-specific baking recipes from Get to Work without it. So now it's a pro baking tool!

So from what I understand the cupcake machine turns into a donut machine cause donuts will still stay exclusive to the machine but also makes sense so as to not make its existence now completely useless
i recently had a sim own a "bakery" (retail store where i just sold baked goods) and all those things were always there, in case anyone else rarely uses the baking skill. i think it was my first time seeing that there was quiche in game
I’ve been complaining that other sims have stopped calling me. even my sims mom or sibling when my sim moves out never calls me to come over and to go out or anything. I’ve also been having issues with sims showing up to my ACTIVE CAREER LOTS like the science lab to ask me to be their best friend or to move in and getting married. super annoying EDIT: as someone who uses cooking, gardening, baking, and the cupcake machine in almost every save, this update was HUGE.
There's a mod that lets you use the cakes from my wedding stories as a birthday cake- the cupcake cake for that is great. It's also just great for a fancier birthday party. I feel like that should be an easy change for them to make since someone already figured it out

I can remove the cupcake machine from my Sims basement. And I have a Sim who is vegetarian and she ate meat. Silly girl now she won't be doing that again so I love the new cooking UI. It'll make every Simmer's life so much easier when cooking. Nice work EA and thank you so much.
Now to just get a small microscope, and unlike the small telescope it gives us the prints. (Which I understand but still annoying.) Edit1: Another reason they did the small appliances is because you'll otherwise need SO MUCH COUNTER SPACE. They need an appliance shelf or something, but I guess this also kinda works but I don't want to have to constantly drag an item in and out of the inventory... Edit2: So a lot of things were coded wrong, which is why Sims who were vegetarian or lactose intolerant would grab them. You could even see it in the code if you ever dived into it.
New stuff pack idea- Photography stuff pack that gives us a complete overall of the photo system, a bunch new poses and filters, a photographer/model career and really nice BB and specifically landscaping items to make really cool settings for photos. This would FINALLY let us take family photos of an entire household and let us higher photographers for parties.
Kayla, I’m watching back today’s stream and you talking about snap and the babies reminded me of exactly how my childhood cat was when we brought home a kitten. She was 14 at the time. The kitten just wanted to be her best friend and would come and lay right up against her whenever possible. At first, Mimi would hiss and swat, but eventually, she just begrudgingly let the kitten lay up against her. She was always tense, but she tolerated it lol
Does anyone else have the bug where when hiring a mixologist they never go behind the bar and DO THEIR JOB?! I noticed it more recently but I feel like it's been happening every once in a while for years. They should fix that next!
It's cool that more of the appliances can be put in your inventory because I would love to use the popcorn and ice cream machine more but they take up too much space and I don't wanna have to go in and out of build mode every time I want popcorn or ice cream. Also, I'm glad to know I'm not crazy and that gardening has been broken since Seasons for others too, most people say Cottage Living but it hasn't worked for me since I got Seasons during it's release.

my ranch hand would only work one day and for a lot of the day, he wasnt working but would play with and steal my toddler's toys. and the plants have been turning back into dirt piles for me for AGES. i hate loading into my save where i had a gorgeous fully grown gardena and then boom its all gone
i never forgot abt the cupcake machine, i've been making fun of it since day 1. however, i have never once placed it in a build simply because it never occurs to me and i have no idea where the heck it is in the buy menu. is it in kitchen section? hobbies???? who knows certainly not me.
I don't think we've gotten this substantial of a base game update from anything other than a expansion before which is interesting, and opens up the possibility for more stuff packs that also require a base game update like this.

I am so happy about them fixing skill level, appliance quality, and mood affecting the food quality. It would always frustrate me when my level one cooking skill sim would make excellent Mac and cheese. So glad that’s fixed and adds some realism back
My none-vampire Sims going straight for that one plate of vampire food in the fridge while there would have been plenty other options for them to choose from, almost feels like normal sim behaviour at this point. They did it in the Sims3, they do it now, it's almost as if sims like to get miserable from eating.

The "Bake Pastries" option on the cupcake machine still has some locked recipes. Doughnuts, croissants, macaroons etc.

I never have used the cupcake machine so for me this is a first exploring the cupcakes 😂 i recently thought about a kit for cats. I know this could be another my first pet stuff gate but i thought about baskets with cushions or little cat tents and some cartons, because we all know that cats prefer the box from a toy rather than the toy itself😂 and wall mounted cat trees, like modules you can place on the wall in a specific distance so the cats can jump from one to another. With bridges and ropes. I think that could be cool. Anyway. Love you simsie ❤

When LilSimsie said you can drag small appliances, I didn't think about dragging an item with a mouse, I pictured a Sim dragging a microwave around town by its cord. And I thought, why would they have them transport it like that. Why not carry it? 😂
I’ve used the cupcake machine ONCE, so this is kinda exciting now.
I had two in a house once as filler, I think at some point I forgot those were actual usable items and not just junk lol.
Very excited about all the things in this update! Not very excited about the fact that I just updated my game and reinstalled mods last night...and will now have to do that all over again😂
You need not bid complete farewell to the cupcake machine--you still can't bake the factory-specific baking recipes from Get to Work without it. So now it's a pro baking tool!
I love that update! I know this cupcake mashine exist but I never used it (not once!), great that we finally will have a chance to make cupcakes in the oven :)
Yesterday I started a new game and got my cooking, gourmet cooking and baking to 10 in prep for Thursday!
i play with gardens a lot so it's sooo exciting that the plants will finally (supposedly) stop glitching out
So from what I understand the cupcake machine turns into a donut machine cause donuts will still stay exclusive to the machine but also makes sense so as to not make its existence now completely useless
i recently had a sim own a "bakery" (retail store where i just sold baked goods) and all those things were always there, in case anyone else rarely uses the baking skill. i think it was my first time seeing that there was quiche in game
I’ve been complaining that other sims have stopped calling me. even my sims mom or sibling when my sim moves out never calls me to come over and to go out or anything. I’ve also been having issues with sims showing up to my ACTIVE CAREER LOTS like the science lab to ask me to be their best friend or to move in and getting married. super annoying
EDIT: as someone who uses cooking, gardening, baking, and the cupcake machine in almost every save, this update was HUGE.
I hope one day we can use cupcakes on birthdays to age up in lieu of a cake
There's a mod that lets you use the cakes from my wedding stories as a birthday cake- the cupcake cake for that is great. It's also just great for a fancier birthday party. I feel like that should be an easy change for them to make since someone already figured it out

I was confused about baking vs cooking, then I remembered that baking is a skill added to get to work and cooking is base game.
I can remove the cupcake machine from my Sims basement. And I have a Sim who is vegetarian and she ate meat. Silly girl now she won't be doing that again so I love the new cooking UI. It'll make every Simmer's life so much easier when cooking. Nice work EA and thank you so much.

Edit1: Another reason they did the small appliances is because you'll otherwise need SO MUCH COUNTER SPACE. They need an appliance shelf or something, but I guess this also kinda works but I don't want to have to constantly drag an item in and out of the inventory...
Edit2: So a lot of things were coded wrong, which is why Sims who were vegetarian or lactose intolerant would grab them. You could even see it in the code if you ever dived into it.
my family still uses the hand crank ice cream maker and it makes the best ice cream lol. 😋 so glad they’re updating this stuff!
New stuff pack idea- Photography stuff pack that gives us a complete overall of the photo system, a bunch new poses and filters, a photographer/model career and really nice BB and specifically landscaping items to make really cool settings for photos. This would FINALLY let us take family photos of an entire household and let us higher photographers for parties.
So the moschino stuff pack? I don’t think you can a photo take more than 3ish sims but it’s better than nothing unless it’s a candid shot
Now, all we need is one small 'neighborly' microscope.
I used to put the cupcake machine in every build as a pantry because I didn't have any packs and could never make one look nice lol
They should've added a search bar for the cooking menu and also improve the lag it takes when opening up that menu..
Kayla, I’m watching back today’s stream and you talking about snap and the babies reminded me of exactly how my childhood cat was when we brought home a kitten. She was 14 at the time. The kitten just wanted to be her best friend and would come and lay right up against her whenever possible. At first, Mimi would hiss and swat, but eventually, she just begrudgingly let the kitten lay up against her. She was always tense, but she tolerated it lol

It's so nice to be able to sort through the cooking stuff. I just wish they could find a way to sort the cooking and baking skills better.
Does anyone else have the bug where when hiring a mixologist they never go behind the bar and DO THEIR JOB?! I noticed it more recently but I feel like it's been happening every once in a while for years. They should fix that next!

It's cool that more of the appliances can be put in your inventory because I would love to use the popcorn and ice cream machine more but they take up too much space and I don't wanna have to go in and out of build mode every time I want popcorn or ice cream. Also, I'm glad to know I'm not crazy and that gardening has been broken since Seasons for others too, most people say Cottage Living but it hasn't worked for me since I got Seasons during it's release.
I hope the getting invites fixes, I’ve never gotten any of the pop ups such as the money one if you get married or the one where Kyle wants to come over. I was excited for those and never experienced it 😢

my ranch hand would only work one day and for a lot of the day, he wasnt working but would play with and steal my toddler's toys. and the plants have been turning back into dirt piles for me for AGES. i hate loading into my save where i had a gorgeous fully grown gardena and then boom its all gone
i never forgot abt the cupcake machine, i've been making fun of it since day 1. however, i have never once placed it in a build simply because it never occurs to me and i have no idea where the heck it is in the buy menu. is it in kitchen section? hobbies???? who knows certainly not me.

I don't think we've gotten this substantial of a base game update from anything other than a expansion before which is interesting, and opens up the possibility for more stuff packs that also require a base game update like this.

Please let it fix the cooking menu lag. I don't even own every single pack and I've had the game crash 3 times already because I just opened the cooking menu. It's even worse if you have simple living on. EDIT: WELL, NEVERMIND EA.

wait im sad that they did not free the get to work donuts and stuff from the cupcake machine...those bake items were always there (as a girl who went through orange gen with no cupcake machine, i know all the oven baked goods pretty well)
I am so happy about them fixing skill level, appliance quality, and mood affecting the food quality. It would always frustrate me when my level one cooking skill sim would make excellent Mac and cheese. So glad that’s fixed and adds some realism back
My none-vampire Sims going straight for that one plate of vampire food in the fridge while there would have been plenty other options for them to choose from, almost feels like normal sim behaviour at this point. They did it in the Sims3, they do it now, it's almost as if sims like to get miserable from eating.
