- Tour of our home in Palm Springs, California in the Seven Lakes community of Mid-Century Modern homes by architect Richard Harrison. Home of artist Chase Langford and Steve Ziel. We bought the home, which is a condominium, has an astounding view looking across two fairways, a lake and to a panorama of mountains topping 11,000 feet. For more info: chaselangford.com. Chase Langford's paintings have been widely shown at one-person and group exhibitions in Los Angeles, New York City, Washington DC, Montreal, Palo Alto, Las Vegas, Long Beach, Napa Valley, Seattle, Dallas, Toronto and Palm Springs and included many corporate/public collections (often site specific commissions) such as Long Beach Musuem of Art, Keck School of Medicine at USC, Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, Star City in Sydney, Australia, Royal Caribbean Cruises, Monique Lhuillier, Inc., Caesar’s Palace, Dykema Grossett LLP, Sidley Austin LLP, Cohen & Lord, Meacham Oppenheimer, Inc., UBS, Nordstrom and Park Hyatt Aviara. He is in private collections in North America, Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, and Australia. Also in the private collections of Magic Johnson and the Saudi Royal Family.

The table and chairs are called tulip furniture. They were designed by Eero Saarinen, who designed Dulles airport in Washington, the TWA terminal at JFK airport in New York, and the arch in St. Louis. Needless to say, tulip furniture has been duplicated by other designers and manufacturers since the 1950s, when they first came out. Today, the tables are still popular; the chairs, not so for safety reasons.
What a lovely home. Don’t worry about the magnesium. It won’t start on fire until 750 degree F. You are a great artist. You guys have done a great job with the decorating and furniture selection.

What a stunning home. Particularly loved the highly flammable magnesium sculpture. I'm doing a show called Mid Century Modern at the Palm Springs Cultural Center, Nov 4 and cannot wait to take in all the beautiful architecture.

What a delightful tour. Beautiful home with wonderful light and your paintings set it off perfectly. It’s always a joy to see the collected art in an artist’s home, most everything has a personal connection. I’ll have to check to see if you’ve shown a tour of your LA home. With this heat we are having in SoCal lately, I need to find some of that cactus that sets off your desert home so beautifully.

We've really enjoyed your mid-century home tours and your home studio videos. We're mid-century fans too and in the process of building out a space at our home for painting so your studio tips are a great help. We live just down the street from where JJ McVicker's home and studio were when he was living (Stillwater, OK) and on the other side of us was Doel Reed's home and studio. (He also had one in Taos.) Hopefully, we'll get our space setup soon and get paint on canvas to the sounds of some good jazz! (Art Pepper)

How did i miss you! Oh my favorite artist and your home tour. The landscaping is perfection, and i am qualified to state this have worked with Sir Allen Haskell Horticulturists. Nice house and I like the art especially your work Chase. Oddly enough I was a bit surprised by the gray interirors, rugs, upholestry and walls. I don't recall the gray interiors in the 50's and 60's . Colors and beige, plus wood paneling and redwood ceiling sheathing and beams were the norm. Look at the 50's and 60's lamps in your bedrooms for color ideas. I realize though updating to 21st century standards is common with "gray" used extensively as the new neutral. In our 70's remodeled courtyard house in Texas we have stayed away from the gray palette that we see in virtually every remodeled home around us.
Yes indeed. I'm not trying recreate MCM, just inspired by it. A lot of the neutral tones allow the artwork to pop.

I love 7 Lakes CC and this home. However, the video got too quickly into details and objects. Architecture is always hard to show on camera. It should have started by walking straight to the glass wall and the view which is the wow factor - 7 Lakes has the best views - and then shown a return long shot from the other side of the fairway so we could see the whole house. If allowed, a drone shot would give us more wow and our bearings. Then do the details.
that's all very good advice.
