I have a great collection of retro 60's stuff including art, Murano glass, MCM and countless other stuff plus I am a well travelled decent guy with three adorable grandchildren yet can't seem to find any one to share my passion. Good luck to Emily for finding someone who is just as crazy as she is.
From Emily twirling in her beautiful dress to all the rooms decorated in Mid-Century style made for an absolutely delightful tour. Emily is charming and mid-century sweet with a gorgeous smile throughout the tour. Thank you so much for inviting us to your Mid-Century home. Emily keep twirling and smiling!
The lighting is spectacular in every room. Amazing furniture too. I feel they are being swamped with all the brica brac. It must take her ages switching everything off at night. A fun house and love the owner.
How amazing is this collection! But it's not all about the collection, is it? It's about the truly incredible presentation of it all. Everything looks so perfectly arranged and visually balanced [both in colour & layout]. The whole place is a work of art and those wonderful words "behold the glory" are well deserved and most relevant. You may be interested to know that I recognise some of those items from my childhood in the UK. Well done to you two for creating and sharing such an incredible themed home and a big thank you to Charles for creating and sharing this lovely video.
Oh myyyy! Sooo much to love! It is indeed a residential mid century museum with the best decor and furnishings ever! Thanks to the owners for sharing, Emily for twirling, and our effervescent host Charles Phoenix for the narration and fascination! How much did we just Love THIS? I KNOW!
What a fabulous tour!!! I love that ebullient Emily and so-handsome Fernando seem as though they stepped right out of the 1950s. What an absolutely STUNNING collection! Of course, Charles Phoenix (the One and Only!) never fails to AMAZE and AMUSE with his knowledge, humor and enthusiasm as he takes us along with him!
Emily I grew up during this time. My dad was an art director. At one point my parents sold my dad's Cadillac and bought a Chevy Impala, turquoise blue. We also had a Corvair and when I was younger my mom had a tomato red Metropolitan convertible. You would love love love our house and neighborhood. Gorgeous George lived there. He drove a purple Cadillac convertible.❤❤❤❤❤❤
OMGGGG this is the BEST midcentury home I have seen here on RUclips. They have the most amazing collection of midcentury pieces I have ever seen. The house is so well decorated. So many pieces that I have never seen before too. I love here dress, she is an adorable flash from the past 🙂The couches and lamps were my favorite I think but its hard to pick with so many amazing things. I would LOVEEEE to live in that house and wake up to all of that LOL , Thanks for this tour 🤩🥰👍
I don't know if it's because I'm getting older but I'm developing a new appreciation for mid-century & this house & furnishings are amazing! The couch & chairs reminds me of the brown set we had growing up, the folks got it when they first got married in 67, sure they looked nice but they were the scratchiest things... You didn't sit on it with just shorts, you always had something between you & that upholstery!
This is the best that I've ever seen. So much ...so beautiful. This house should be in a magazine. Or maybe they should make a book of their home. I would buy it!
Wow!!!! Dear Charles, I was not familiar with this mid century theme. Thank you for your channel!! The cars, the beautiful homes, and the amazing people are a delight to watch! Your personality and style is wonderful. I wish you continued success!!
What FUN it must have been (and still is) to fit out that house with all the amazing authentic decor! Wonderful tour, Charles!! Great job! I get such a restful feeling from the vibe of the house. This tour of a happy, active Mid Century home does my heart good, especially after watching a guy who films abandoned houses slated for demolition in Canada. I am thankful Ethan is documenting the disappearing history for cultural historians of the future. - just wish there was salvage effort there. I have seen gorgeous completely original bathrooms & kitchens with their pink, turquoise, green, yellow, mint, lilac & deep purple toilets, tubs, sinks, & accoutrements with original wallpaper doomed for destruction and my mind recoils in knowing no one is going to salvage it. In many the MCM stair railings, solid wood cabinets & paneling are fantastic and the perfect MC lighting fixtures remain condemned to death, as well . Then I come to this kind of video & feel vindicated, that plenty of us exist who love & value this history. I'll bet Emily & Fernando's vintage clothing wardrobe is equally spectacular!!
You two made my day! Took me back to my childhood growing up in San Diego. I remember a few of these items in our house and Aunts and Grama's house. So much fun - the twirling in a pretty dress - such fun times. Thank you for sharing! Love it ALL!
Thanks Charles. Amazing home. This woman is lovely, and I appreciated her willingness to share--and twirl. I've seen things here that I didn't know existed. I would have liked to hear more from the husband as he seems like a good man, and I'd like to learn what he can share.
I recognize the period-specific style in some of the kitchenware and tableware from my late grandparents' house in Finland. Considering the post-war conditions they were not wealthy and they didn't have full sets of anything, but single items of 50s design brought a nice, small touch of luxury into their otherwise modest home.
And that’s what a lot of folks refuse to comprehend in regards to this specific era. Other than the short lifespan of the Deco era, Life was For the most part pretty drab and depressing until postwar. Fortunately, we finally reached a Time when our surroundings were actually designed to uplift our spirits, make us smile, and look forward to what the future had in store which would in turn, Give us (to despite how some people may feel) incentive to accomplish other great Achievements Shortly after. There are many reasons why people should still consider this to be one of the most important eras In history.🚀✨🚀✨🚀
How marvellous, what a pad! Wow I thought I was the best thing made in the 50's but Charles you are showing me another side of life with the cars and now this wonderful woman and her collections!
I'm not a person of words, but this house is out of this world! I'm digging it, as Isaac Hayes would say! Atomic Ranch Magazine needs to feature this home.
I remember several pieces like this young Lady’s in different Family members homes in the olden days. Beautiful Home It’s amazing what this young couple were able to get their hands on. TUFS
Emily has my brain twirling and I’m now drunk on vintage and grinning from ear to ear. It’s a lighting showcase, I want all of them! I’ve OD’d and dizzy from all the curated fabulousness! I’ve got to go sleep this off now. Thanks for the trip.
Thos is one beautiful house. She would have loved the stove top and wall oven my parents had years ago. They were like a pale pink. Absolutely beautiful appliances. Back in 1974 while visiting Disneyland, my family and I stayed at The Inn of Tomorrow on Katella Ave which was a Stoval motel that used a lot of Googie futuristic style. Their was the Inn of Tomorrow, The Galaxy Inn, The Space Age Lodge and Cosmic Inn. It was a Mid Century Masterpiece. The lobby for me at my young age was breathtaking. The grounds also included topiary trees shaped like animals. If you walk into the hotel now, you can still see some of the old styling cues within the lobby. You just have to know what to look for, because most people wouldn't realize it without the back story.
Love this! Emily and her husband living their passion and creating a masterpiece! Watching this was so much fun. Whenever I’m feeling down I’m going to watch this!
Charles, PLEASE DO AUDIO BOOKS. You have the most melodic voice EVAR! 😍 I hope to get to see one of your Americana specials if you go across the country (I'm currently in Texas but moving back to Wisconsin shortly - and so much of what you talk about, I GREW UP WITH!) Emily's home is ASTOUNDING! Everything is fantastical, the FURNITURE(!!!), the lamps, the sunburst clocks, but I GASPED OUT LOUD AT HER PURSE COLLECTION, OMG!!! Thank you for the tour Charles, and Emily...your house is DIVINE!
Wakefield is Kohinoor, not sculptura. Crazy collection of mid century kitsch. Weather spheres are Peter Pepper Products. I had one of those trees and the branches were several different colors. Emily is so fun, thanks for the tour!!
Her vibe is so cheerful, feminine, inviting, but still quirky and individual. Very cool lady.
what a happy time full of hope and optimism.
Absolutely amazing! It's a mid-century museum.
Absolutely love this place. Such a time capsule, but I wouldn't want to dust it.
I have a great collection of retro 60's stuff including art, Murano glass, MCM and countless other stuff plus I am a well travelled decent guy with three adorable grandchildren yet can't seem to find any one to share my passion.
Good luck to Emily for finding someone who is just as crazy as she is.
Emily's husband Fernando is also passionately into MCM. Fernando made an appearance at the end of the video.
Where are you located? I have mutant lamps, George’s Briard barware and mcm galore. Nobody near me in NH appreciates it 🙄 lol
The hostess completes the vibe with her outfit and knowledge of everything there. I feel like I went to MCM school now.
From Emily twirling in her beautiful dress to all the rooms decorated in Mid-Century style made for an absolutely delightful tour. Emily is charming and mid-century sweet
with a gorgeous smile throughout the tour. Thank you so much for inviting us to your Mid-Century home. Emily keep twirling and smiling!
MY MOUTH WILL BE DROPPED FOR ANOTHER 10 YEARS !!! AMAZING

Mid Century mind....BLOWN! Thanks Charles!
My brain just exploded watching this … so cool this was lovingly collected over time via thrift and flea markets! 💖✨
I love her spins, cute.❤
It's a little too much together, but every piece is wonderful. Kitchy for sure.
Her husband is so cute and so humble and helping her and her collection
She’s sitting on an amazing fortune. I’m totally geeking out love love love

Very nice , amazing! Brings back being 4 years old in the late fifties!
Beautiful home filled with treasures. I would love to someday have just 1 room like this. Thank you for the tour.
Wow! What a place, I love it! I wish I could find just one atomic item. Thank you Charles for this awesome video. I know!

I don't think I've ever seen a purple toilet! That would be something else!! I'm curious about the bathrooms in this featured house.
She is really committed to the mcm era
This is a mind blowing collection of fabulous mid century everything!!
Seeing this house made me so happy as well and has made my day, thank you so much for sharing this treasure.

Amazing place! And that dress is fabulous😊
Lamps looked modern from the 1940s on up. I'm glad she brought the wonderful 50s and 60s back. Thank you.

Eye candy! THANK YOU!
I'm speechless (and that is rare rare rare). I would love to see a tour of your house and car collection if you have one. Happy holidays from Michigan

Mid Century Period not my cup of tea, but this collection is AWESOME. EPIC examples. Hats off to the collector(s).
I'm not a person of words, but this house is out of this world! I'm digging it, as Isaac Hayes would say! Atomic Ranch Magazine needs to feature this home.
