    Using the slope tool is easy. You need to right click the height you want your slope to end at and then left click where you want your slope to start.

    to use the slope terrain tool, right click on the height level you want to slope to, then left click and hold at your starting point and drag to your desired height location

    to make it easier, what i do is under every new overpass, i sink a road 8.75m below the road that will become the over pass, once done at each overpass, i then use the level terrain tool to level the ground to the sunken short bits of roads to create the over passes, i then delete the small marker roads and then slope from one overpass to the next, that way you have minimum slopes when next to other infrastructure and buildings. just neat and really quick and generally have nice slopes too

    Single track routes cause back-ups and delays if you have traffic in both directions. Every train has to wait for trains moving in the opposite directions on the double ‘lane’ track for its opposite to pass before it can proceed.

    the angle of the turn from the cargo terminal is completely unrealistic and too sharp, you could have simply turned the terminal so that the exit track was facing the other way

  • @KLENDEY
    @KLENDEY 4 месяца назад +9

    I still don't understand why you made a u-turn by the cargo train terminal. You could just have made a straight line and connected it with the other train line coming from downtown. To be honest, you should have just deleted the cargo train terminal, as it only takes up space and is for no use.
    And you could also just have made a tunnel, then something that looks like a trench with overpasses.

    • @gawkthimm6030
      @gawkthimm6030 4 месяца назад

      I always have a line going past train and subway terminals, then "on-and-off ramps/rail" that connects the terminal to the "main line", so that there are no bottlenecks at any stations

    • @KLENDEY
      @KLENDEY 4 месяца назад

      @@gawkthimm6030 I know, but there was no need for a u turn or a trench

    • @gawkthimm6030

      my point was just, never have a line rail or subway connect directly into a terminal.

    • @KLENDEY
      @KLENDEY 4 месяца назад

      @@gawkthimm6030 Yeah you are right, but there is actually no use at all for that terminal now that there is a train line to the cargo ships. So it only takes up space and it looks unrealistic to have such a curvy train line.

    How come you haven't thought of a land reclamation project like most cities have done IRL?
    Especially in the harbor and industrial district area, it could also make your rail layout look better and more realistic, doesn't look real to me with the rails being steep on some slopes and so close to the sea below sea level in some trenches.
    I also think your small river through downtown, though nice, should be a trench.

    Using 41:04 for visual reference. The “Park Highway” ramp is completely unnecessary. Traffic heading to the harbor takes the “Ivy HWY” ramp and continues straight. Going across the bridge only requires taking Ivy, right in Magnolia, and another right to the bridge, not having to interfere with other taffies at all. Also, no vehicles need to cross he bridge to take the Park HWY on-ramp, it just loops around back to Magnolia St. You could remove the Park HWY ramp entirely with no negative and maybe even positive effects!

    Less trains and transit oriented episodes, more densifying and upgrading the urban fabric of the region episodes! I’m so invested in the growth of Bixton and Auburn, but we never get to see any real city changes other than freeway upgrades and adding sprawl. Just my two cents! Love the series tho

  • @joshgellock

    👎 This was somewhat of a frustrating video to watch. Carving the rail into the ground near the water? Doesn't seem like something that would really happen. The grades are kind of ridiculous. And the worst part? It doesn't feel like anything that was completed helped the situation. Sometimes it's better to just say this isn't working and needs to get redone completely. I also think adding a freight station elsewhere in the city would help too.
