That comment from krosan was spot on. Also, there is so many substrategies one can use with phase alignement and different eq curves on each sub to create many scenarios. One can also apply different order filters to each sub, and each different order uses more or less time in crossover area thus messing with phase(time alignement aspect). Messing with this stuff gives a hands on learning experience that blew my mind ;). Because of the easy of setup with new filters one can experiment quickly and therefore learn much if thats your goal. There's a lot of parameters so having a basic strategy is crusial to get positive results when getting into DSP. I'm a cheapscate so I started with a 2Ch. Behringer amp with built in DSP and that got me hooked :). The results with multisub and DSP are tenfold better than changing an amp or dac in the bass.

I love Youthman's willingness to bring in other people to help improve his home theater. His confidence allows him to admit when someone else can do it better.

I’m very curious about MSO, waiting to see your video about it! 😉

This Multi Sub Optimizer (MSO) is a real deal. EQ with REW can optimize MLP, but MSO can help optimize multiple theater seats....it's bit of a learning curve, but MSO is incredible and compatible with MINIDSP......in my opinion must have for theaters with multiple seats..

MSO is the single best thing to happen to multi sub systems. Once you're able to use MSO (and there is an amazing tutorial by Jeff Mery on youtube) you can get near identical seat to seat consistency within a few listening positions. What will shock every first time user is how accurate the predicted results are and the actual measured results are... they're nearly 100% identical. It takes time to learn and to configure properly but once you get it down you will be in pure sonic bliss. (TAKE MEASUREMENTS IN REW WITH A TIMING REFERENCE ALWAYS OR YOU WON'T EVER GET ACCURATE RESULTS)

I'm curious if MSO would be able to mix sealed and ported subs together.

Joe here. Yes, it's possible, I've done it. Hopefully the ported sub plays lower than the sealed one. You just cut off the frequency where the port takes over so that it doesn't cancel out with the frequencies at the port tuning since those are out of phase.

@@DailyHiFi I've got an SB16 ultra that is 16-460, and awaiting a PSA EV1813 that says 16-150 but in room extension is 12-15. Waiting for it to arrive so I can take some REW measurements.

Does anyone have experience with the nois floor of the mini dsp 2x4 hd? I plan to build a subwoofer array with eight 15'' woofer (that already have a sensitivity of (more or les) 96 db @ 1w, 1m.)
Should I go for the mini dsp 4x10 hd, just for the balanced input/output. Couldn't find the signal to nois ratio for the mini dsp 2x4 hd
