You gotta work on your "umm"s, it's a bad habit for presenting that's better to break early on. If you need to pause a moment when talking to just do it, don't need to fill the silence.
So I currently have an AM aluminum barrel but I like to run a tracer. I've noticed it will mess with the accuracy/ bb flight with the tracer on. Will a non recoiling outer barrel help fix that?
Cowcow barrels have not been available for the past 2 years. I thought about putting a cowcow one into the mix, I just didn't want to put something that you can't get into the comparison. I did not do aip because I don't have any.
What's wrong with TM plastic barrel? It should be compatible with Airsoft Masterpiece slides. I wouldn't advise people that outer barrel is the first thing to upgrade. TM hi capa is excellent out of the box. Run it stock until something breaks and then upgrade it. First upgrade your slide (usually the slide breaks first), with the slide change the recoil spring (heavier slide needs stiffer spring). You can run it like that until nozle breaks then replace the nozle. Thats all if you want budget hi capa that is still working. But rarely anyone stops here. List goes on and on until you have 700-1000e worh of hi capa and you are broke :D
The stock barrels have been trash the last 2 years, they have plummeted in quality. The new airsoft masterpiece slides are designed specifically to not work with stock barrels. A metal barrel is the best upgrade as it allows you to put a tracer on, as well as offsetting the recoil of the plastic slide to basically nothing. As you also seem to be uninformed, the barrels have been the first piece breaking ever since their quality dropped a couple years ago.
@@Wyhaq My outer barrel broke in two pieces, I think that outer barrel is even made by glueing that two pieces in factory but the glue is not strong enough. Nothing that epoxy couldn’t fix. It was minor issue nothing unfixable. Don’t know about newer hi capas, mine is 2.5 years old and I am still using the plastic outer barrel.
had a question what woulkd a good outer be for my slide my 5.1 is a sleeper build and I was looking at LA capa customs tornado threaded ob or the airsoft master piece I just need one to install a tracer only thing that is stock internally is the inner barrel
I know these barrels are for Hi-capa 5.1s and are called "bull barrels" in the real steel world. Because of how it gets thicker towards the front. I'm guessing these are not compatible for slides meant for 1911 style slides? The ones that uses barrel bushings. Can you point me to a manufacturer that sells 1911-spec outer barrels that also has these spirals/fluted designs? I've looked at AIP, Cowcow, RA-tech, 5KU, AM, etc. but they only sell these bull barrel types. Last resort is I'd have to modify the front of the 1911 slide to accommodate the bull barrel types.
If it's a Tokyo Marui spec 1911, it's compatible. Marui 1911 and Hi-Capa are fully interchangeable in the upper. If you want to use the hicapa barrel, you need to also use hicapa guide rod and guide plug. You don't need to modify the slide of a marui spec 1911 to accommodate these barrels.
@@Wyhaq I see, I was on the fence as I've read that WE/AW 1911s and hi-capas aren't 100% marui spec. And the 5ku TM-spec compensator I bought wasn't flush with my 1911. I'm gonna look at what my local airsoft shops have . Thanks for answering! Your videos are gonna be useful when I do get a hi-capa.
I like them better than the 5ku barrels, they are basically the same exact design, but done in steel with a nicer finish. AM is higher quality, but far more expensive. I think the steel lancer barrels are like 70 ish dollars on line in america, no having to ship from hong kong. They are the best like "cheap" barrel

Ìm struggling to find what barrels to use with masterpiece slides. I was using a outer barrel however it would randomly get locked up onto the masterpiece slide. Someone said I had to use fixed outer barrels.
Almost all aftermarket outer barrels are "fixed", you should not have an issue accidentally getting a dropping barrel. I recommend you just get an airsoft masterpiece outer barrel, but there are many other good options.
Are all outer barrels compatible with every hi capa because I have a valken hi capa and I want a threaded tip barrel but the outer barrel they have is black and this one is a bronze one and I’d like to keep that kind of color
I generally do not like the 5ku barrels. Ive used them in the past, and didn't experience any problems. I just prefer the fit and finish of other brands. 5ku doesn't have good quality control. I'd get rid of your 5ku barrel and buy an airsoft masterpiece or laylax barrel if you are experiencing problems
Would you happen to know if the airsoft masterpiece barrels are compatible with the WE Tech Hi Capas? I'm in need of a new outer barrel for mine but I'm just concerned about the small differences in design between the stock barrel and the aftermarket ones, specifically the cutouts where the barrel square are. I'm just trying to do some research before I drop over $130 on a outer barrel
www.evike.com/products/28513/ if you are american, there is a link to WE barrel. I have basically no experience with WE hicapas and zero experience with upgrading/replacing parts in them, so any other input from me would not be valuable
Hey. I’m looking to get an airsoft masterpiece barrel so I can attach a mock suppressor on it, hiding a very long inner barrel. This would give me more FPS/accuracy, as the inner barrel would be twice as long as most HI CAPAs out there. Is this a good idea? If so, do you recommend any mock suppressors?
I would recommend you get a laylax barrel instead of the airsoft masterpiece for that specific application. It's called: nineball Hi-Capa 5.1 non recoil 2way outer barrel. The benefit of this barrel is that is is basically screwed into the hopup chamber and prevents any sort of barrel drag/wobble. For a suppressor, get something that is aluminum and lightweight.
I'm thinking about getting another barrel. I have a aluminum K5U. I think that is who made it. It came from elites hooting centre. It was his brand, but I think K5U OEMed it. It has a lot of movement for a "fixed" barrel. The ones I see near me that are threaded are AIP stainless steel barrels. The AM barrels in stock are aluminum, think I much rather have steel though. Saw the Lancer barrels that are steel, just don't know how much I trust them.
I know this is old but a tip for my 5ku barrel that I have. Wrap teflon around your inner barrel to snug up the fit for the outer barrel. You don't need to go too crazy, just enough so it's a nice snug fit without slop. Then you tighten up the grub screws till they're really tight. It might take a little work adjusting the two screws to get to the point where your barrel and hop up unit fit nicely in your slide without the outer barrel grabbing onto the slide (say, if you tighten one screw a ton before tightening up the other, the outer barrel will be shifted upwards and grab the top of the slide) once you get it dialed in, really tighten down on them. The way I did it, the grub screws left marks on the hop up unit that makes it easier for the screws to locate on next time you have to take it apart and put it back together.
hey man, just wondering have u tried the 5ku 5.1 barrel (the smooth one) i just need a black smooth barrel for my hi capa without it being too expensive, max i would spend is 50 usd, can u help me?
same thing as the fluted one. It'll work but I definitely recommend you save up and go with something better. generally you are going to be closer to $80 for a decent outer barrel
The ones with the set screws are garbage for me. I bought a 5ku one for my first out barrel and after a couple hundred ones it flew off. The screws dug into my Hopup and moved all the way off the hop up
Yes, that happened to me a few years ago when I used one for the first time. You gotta drill out a little cavity on the hop up for the set so crews to rest in and also loctite them.
Thats what I did to but I changed it when I got a new hop up not a fan of putting holes into stuff I buy but it worked after that. I just found after a bit is that they are cheaply made compared to some of the other barrels

What can you recommend best outer barrel as of now? Brand and model pls. Thanks
Great comparison!
Which one have a higher accuracy rate the aluminum or steel outer barrel type?
Are these the barrels you used in the Tokyo marui 5.1 hi capa metal slide vid?
Does the airsoft masterpiece barrels work with the stock TM slide? I want to add a tracer but dont really want a new slide atm
Thx for the guideline!
isn't the 5ku also stainless steel?
It's definitely possible. I'm only aware of the aluminum ones though
