- WWE reportedly promised The Rock a Wrestlemania 40 Main Event if he took a seat on the Board of Directors, which raises ONE HUGELY IMPORTANT QUESTION. WWE is also monitoring The Rock, and Cody Rhodes situation very closely on social media, where there is a possibility internally, this could all change, and turn into one huge "work". Dave Meltzer already believes it has reached that level with the "WE WANT CODY" hashtag trending all weekend on social media.

It was the plan. Rock came back at day one, said what he said. They set up multiple opponents for Reigns to face after Mania in the weeks prior to the rumble. Then Punk told Cody a bigger star was going to take his spot.

What do you mean no way they saw this coming? This literally happened 10 years ago with Daniel Bryan. Rock even said he turned down the match last year because the creative wasn't right and he wanted to do something different. We don't know what they're planning yet but I doubt they're gonna tell us everything this early when EC hasn't even happened yet.

Well, that's one positive out of this whole situation. I still think the whole thing is a big work and WM night 2 ends with Cody finishing the story.

I think it is most predictable mania. I am going to tell the matches and winners. 1. Cheating Monster Roman Reigns vs Asshole Rock, Cheating monster will retain somehow. 2. Best Wrestler in WWE Seth Rollins vs Cuck Cody. Cuck Cody wins due to WWE thinking anti-rock crowd to be pro cody crowd. 3. Japanese IO Sky v vs USA Bayley, of course USA wins 4. I was pissed. They had Cody win the rumble for the second year in a row, the 4th man to win in over 20 years, they also had Cody struggle the whole year of 2023 after losing at wrestlemania last year all for nothing and now he's getting screwed over again, they should build up Rock vs Roman for next years wrestlemania like they did with Cena vs Rock wrestlemania 28

“Losing” Lesnar is absolutely a blessing in disguise. Young Steiner is ready to go and has the makings of a star. Breakker vs Dom is a better match, with a better result for the future.
Losing Punk sucks but Drew is there and ready for good heel champion run. Priest still needs to cash in his money in the bank prize as well.
Ilja is ready for a call up to dethrone Gunther as the IC champ, we should be building towards that.
Allowing Dwayne’s ego to derail the Cody/Roman storyline is the only detriment heading into Mania, and boy is it a big one. Ruining that storyline would crush the entire show and lose all the positive momentum gained from everything else.
All that being said, I’ve been watching WWE for 35 years and I have zero faith in them to do what so obviously SHOULD be done.
I've done my research on this report and there was no evidence to back it up and I don't think this whole Rock/Roman/Cody situation is entirely a work.

Cody Rhodes' return to All Elite Wrestling is looking more of a guarantee as each day go by.
Yup. It's going to happen and AEW will slowly begin to be the promotion in the spotlight, as many will be turned off by the takeover of WWE by The Rock.
If they really go through with this, I wouldn't be surprised to see Cody jump ship again eventually. Idk about AEW overtaking WWE, but if there's anybody who can tank the upwards trajectory the company has been on the last few years, it's DeeWayne Johnson (Just look at his track record with DCEU).

Very similar to the DCEU & Warner Bros situation, Dwayne overplayed his hand and did not expect to see this amount of negative backslash.
WWE has tried to manipulate the situation by constantly editing and reposting the clip and the negative reactions continue to grow more and more.
The mere fact that Logan Paul, who theoretically is the #2 heel in the entire company has broken kayfabe and spoken out on this should tell you everything that you need to know.

Cody didn't hand over anything, Seth gave him a great argument, and Cody chose him. The Rock came in weeks be4 Royal Rumble telling everybody that he is challenging Roman for the head of the table. What's the problem that people really have. Cody also told everyone how he felt to Roman and the crowd.
Even if they try to "pivot" back to the original plan of Cody vs Roman, they've done irreparable damage to Cody, The Royal Rumble, Seth Rollins & the WHC and The Rock's reputation

I read reports that The Rock's daughter, Ava, had been getting death threats over the her father's situations. It's kinda messed up that she had nothing to do with it. I bet WWE are going to have to persuade The Rock to delay his match against Roman to another date if he doesn't want him and his family to get all the hate by fans.

Funny if the WWE goes ahead with Roman/Rock and the Philly Crowd sh!ts all over it. Although in fairness I remember Roman being involved in a lot of matches (including Wrestlemania Main Events) that the crowds sh!t all over. Am I the only one who remembers all that?
Something has always rubbed me wrong about the Rock never trust a guy that is too nice. From his prior history and the debacle with DC, what really did it for me was the whole asking for donations with Oprah for Hawaii and if know anything about Oprah she is an evil woman and this Cody this just confirmed it with his insane ego and “goals”.

You know if Rock really wants this match you'd think he'd just let Cody do what he has to do and finish his story and win the damn title then face Roman next year but no he wants it in Philly this year. Why if WrestleMania is going to be in the UK next year and Roman doesn't have the title, one it makes Rock's match with Roman look way more unpredictable. Two if WrestleMania is in the UK it's a massive milestone on all fronts for the company, WrestleMania, and whoever is on the card performing there, for The Rock having a WrestleMania match in the UK would a great milestone to add to his own resume. Three, last but not least Rock's reputation isn't going be hurt at all if he faces Roman then rather than now.

Honestly, I think the plan was Reigns vs Rock and Punk vs Rollins with CM Punk winning the rumble before he got hurt. They called an audible and had Cody win but needed to figure out how to have him go against Rollins vs finishing his story against Reigns which is why we got what we got for an explanation. A rushed shit show because of an injury. That's my best explanation to this mess.

Rock vs roman is my preferred match but I'll be happy either way. Cody's story isnt as fun for me as seeing rocks last mstch vs. His cousin. Cody is cool and all, but last year, i wasnt into cody vs. Roman. Oh well, im just greatful to watch wrestlemania, no matter what.
The only reason this doesn’t make sense from a storyline aspect is because Cody won the royal rumble( in what world does it make sense for Cody’s character to win the Rumble and not challenge Roman). If Cody didn’t win the Rumble I honestly wouldn’t care but Cody has a clear opportunity to finish his story here and see out his goal and he’s just taking a backseat. All they had to do was have Cody lose at the rumble if this was the plan

Oh I can see it JD, I was just thinking of this Sunday night that what if Roman takes Rock on night 1 wins and takes Cody night 2, losing to Cody only to have a promo saying he wasn’t at his best to Cody and wanting a rematch leading it up to a summer Slam main event.
