    Can you tell me where I can get my hands on RED clutch and brake levers along with matching RED grips?
    I’ve been searching but no luck.

      You can get some unbranded aluminum ones on eBay or Amazon. It might be trickier to find name brand parts anodized red but I believe Pazzo and Rizoma make them. Any that say they fit the 400 should fit the 500.

      I went to the dealer that I bought the bike from and they were able to order it. Pickering Motorsports. But the supplier they use is bikepartscanada I believe. I've also seen them on eBay for about the same price from American companies.

    Dang, got the red ninja 500 with abs and got the lv corsa black edition a few days ago. It's pretty much a straight pipe. Wish I saw this a few weeks earlier lol. It's really loud with no db silencer but it does pop though.

      @philp7012  Месяц назад +3

      It should be okay. All the more reason for a tune. 20 percent more power for 250 bucks worth of software is awesome.

    • @demonstare1
      @demonstare1 24 дня назад

      @philp7012 any suggestions for a tune? I'll wait on one year probably for the factory warranty but then it's getting a tune for sure.

    • @philp7012
      @philp7012  24 дня назад +1

      @@demonstare1 there's a few that I know of, TST industries is highly recommend though. It sounds like the tune adds some power but just makes the engine run happier overall. The fact that they strangle this class of engine for emissions is ridiculous, they already do hybrid car mileage with less pollution. So hopefully the tune gives us the engine as it was supposed to be.

    beautiful bike...I just picked mine up...I also have the Icon Airform and can attest to the noise...at 60kms, I can't even hear the bike due to the amount of wind noise the helmet makes. Earplugs certainly do make a differnce. I found the helmet wants to rip my ears off, when taking it off even with the 3XL cheek pads. Did you find the same? A balaclava helps with that. I will definately look into this exhaust...especially at that price point, can't really go wrong with it. Good vid, thanks!

    • @philp7012
      @philp7012  12 дней назад

      @@DerekButler-b8g The helmet seems to put pressure right at the top of my forehead. It may not be my ideal head shape but unfortunately finding a helmet for my noggin isn't easy. Otherwise I like the helmet a lot.

    Are there any other differences to the 40th anniversary edition vs SE KRT than the paint scheme?
    I absolutely love it, as it reminds me of the 1st gen ZX9R / ZXR 750, but 40th isn't available here in Denmark.

    • @philp7012
      @philp7012  15 дней назад +2

      I've been wanting a bike again for a while now (sold my last one, an '84 GSX 250 ES in 2006), and the 500 SE looks like the perfect one for me.
      I have a rather expensive trip to Japan comming up this fall, so I'll wayt untill spring to get one. Unless Yamaha waves the wand and produces a miracle of an R5, I'm going to get the 500 SE KRT. :)
      Because of the absolutely insane taxes on privately registered road vehicles here in Denmark, the 500 SE currently costs the equivalent of 16,760 CAD, more than double the price in Canada... XD

    • @philp7012
      @philp7012  15 дней назад

      @@HepauDK I know you guys have absolutely crazy taxes up there but at least the country is in good shape! I can't say I really have any regrets with the bike. It's got decent power and is really fun. I'm mainly in this class because insurance in Canada for supersports is crazy. When my insurance becomes reasonable I'll be looking for a 1992 ZX7. I love my classic supersports.

    • @HepauDK
      @HepauDK 15 дней назад

      @@philp7012 Me too. Early 90's sport bikes looked really good. From the mid-90's they began to look a bit weird.
      If older Honda's weren't so hard to get parts for, I would have gotten a VFR 750 F (RC36). A friend of mine had an '87 VFR 750, and he had a VERY hard time finding a speedometer for it. And that was at least 10 years ago.
      My absolute dream bike would be an RC30 with full HRC kit though. And Ducati 916 as a close 2nd. :)

    Worried i will damage my bike without my silencer i habe the same exhaust on my 24 500 KRT SE and i love the sound so much without the DB killer I won't damage anything will i ? I know lean but nobody ever goes onto detail about it with this engine

    • @philp7012
      @philp7012  Месяц назад +1

      When I took my bike in for the first service the mechanic said that it shouldn't actually damage anything as the 02 sensors should prevent that but it likely won't be running optimally. I'm told these engines run super lean right out of the factory. He said a tune changes the bike completely. Something I might do over the winter.
