For tip 3 I’m so glad I’m not the only one that thought this was better. My fireteam was kinda stubborn on game plan and always struggled on the third sword bc they didn’t want to do that.
Great video. On the first encounter it can be helpful to increase brightness in game and/or on your monitor/tv. It makes it easier to find the preserve plates and see holes.

Just wanted to say that for The Abyss you can actually just throw a tangle at the next lantern and grapple and you will skip all of the obstacles. I think the only lantern it doesn't work for is the one that is up a hill, but it will still take you far enough to avoid most of the obstacles... Just don't hole in one like I did 3 times in a row

Nice! It’s a great strat. An even easier one now is to just pick the chalice back up, enlighten 3-4 people, then dunk the chalice and kill the sword bearers!
for the first encounter, u can place one person super fly directly to the end (jump up at the begining and fly left, end up infront of bridge), the enemy will spawn at the end so rest of the people dun have to deal with enemy, thats the easiest way we found XD
W for using sunshot. it's so goated this season. i was using it day 1 with verity's and tof healing nades and just wasn't able to die from like 99% of things in the raid. i had 10k kills by the end of the two raids and i guarantee that like 70% of those kills were sunshot kills lmao
In 3rd encounter radar tells you everything you need. In towers jump to the top and if the red bar is lighter toward you the wizard is on bottom. If its lighter away from you wizard is on top. You can have all call outs before 2 people get enlightened.
Ill say this for crota. A titan with Phoenix cradle during crota final stand is amazing. Its a sunspot for the whole team which gives restoration. So if a well breaks, sunspot is still up cause crota cant break sunspots
Another tip for Crota: Heavy > Super > Heavy > spam light attacks until the sword disappears is the optimal way to break his shield. With just the tractor cannon debuff you can very consistently get his shield below half health with one sword

If you're not numbering yourselves for order of chalice grab.... you're doing it wrong. It should never be "who can take the chalice?". Its should always be "2 take, 3 take, 4 take, etc". Literally more efficient with less words. The abyss encounters clear check is depositing in every deposit point and has nothing to do with enlightening. Stay together as a group and just deal with 10X weighted darkness because it's supremely faster. Obviously it will take time and practice to learn the route and avoid the holes but stopping for enlighten literally triples the length of the encounter. Current best in slot dmg for Ir Yut dmg is leviathan's breath with catalyst for raw ammo and hitscan. Rocket's and izzy are technically better raw dps but with her irregular movement and tendency to hide levi's breath is great for staggering her with a div. Have hunters run star eaters with marksman goldie and the 1 phase is in the bag. Your hunter can also run gathering storm if they don't miss but these damage options are hit scan with no travel time so missing rockets/supers won't happen. Lastly, when Crota goes down to a knee for dps phase have the well place it in the air on his back. You will still gain the benefits of the well and his sword slam has a much smaller chance to break it. And for the love of god don't use falling guillotine for sword damage anymore. After all the nerfs it's one of the worst swords to use on top of mysteriously bad ammo econ. After extensive testing there are two options. Lament for consistent high damage and good ammo economy and gold tusk if your a hunter (relentless strike, whirlwind, 3 light 1 heavy attack). Bequest is technically higher dps than everything but surrounded is extremely difficult to proc and the moment it's gone your dps tanks. So there you go, you're welcome.
We spent 2 hours at the first encounter yesterday. Because we had one of those jackass speed runners on our team.... I had to leave before we even finished it. But I did get the Necro on sunday but still it sucks wasting 2 hours cause of someone who wants to be a speed runner
Most deaths in The Abyss are to people struggling with spatial awareness of the swinging pendulums and getting too much weight from getting knocked around and not the people going too fast. People who typically speed forward are just as capable at backtracking to assist a teammate and are often the first ones to go back for a revive. Also, best Crota sword damage is light, heavy, super, light, light and allows you to have your other sword wielder mess up part of their attack and still break the shield. Also, you don't need to squad rush Crota for DPS with everyone and the kitchen sink and is actually far worse in most cases. Better to send your tractor person out first to boop and bait an attack making it an easy open for your shield breakers to go in and not have the dude flail around and reduce the chances of him moving and dodging an attack by accident. Otherwise, very nice vid.
Also because someone is frustrated with first time experience with this raid and the community, doesn't mean you should suggest to not "pug". God I had to actually look that up. I guarantee that dude will go into the raid in a week or so and have drastically different experiences (as I hope I do too). You keep doing you and LFG will be kinder soon. Don't let negative suggestions dictate your life my man.
For bridge, isn’t it easier if #2 just takes the chalice to players 3,4,5,6 and then after 6, 2 takes chalice over with 1 for first sword kill. This way the only person rotating is #2 and totems are never threatened
The totems are never threatened. The swordbearer spawns after the 2nd person enlightens, so they can grab the sword without having multiple swordbearers spawn. The people on the outside plates can either send one person to middle to swap, or just have one person hold each player while their partner passes the relic. There is always at least 1 person on every plate
I pray for all of us that went into lfg for this easy ass raid again 😂 because holy shit was it a tough experience finding people with common sense, wasn't an asshole, being dedicated, or having time to attempt the raid in the first place. Got the clear, but the emblem wasn't appealing so I took my baby and went to slay some red bars. (It's still not as good as we want it to be, but damn is it enjoyable to kill some red bars and was decently effective vs majors. Maybe if you reload and have the perk active after any kill will make it feel better and would be more like the D1 variant)

You don't have to be a mega chad player to run a raid, and they are such a fun experience. Consider going to his Twitch stream and watching, and maybe joining in a raid. You don't need all the biggest, baddest exotic weapons; world drops will work just fine.
Abyss is the worst in lfg everyone running with grapples and eager edge always make the encounter so much slower cause they cause so many wipes. Any run iv done when you take it 1 lamp at a time iv got through first try hahah
Not really a huge tip or trick but if you’re getting overwhelmed by Crota or his wizards, you can hide where you would preserve the chalice in the bottom back where the ogres spawn.
My team played a bit slower but safer : ONLY GET ENLIGHTENED WHEN NEEDED . Since taking chalice from other while not full didn't trigger any cooldown , you can played safe by getting 2 players keep taking chalice from each other until needed then get 1 for enlightened . It's mostly used for enc 2 and sometimes 1 because people may get enlightened unintentionally and can't take chalice anymore which may cause chaos in callouts . May not need this when you are used to the raid and timing but some new team can try i supposed .
I had trouble seeing them too when I was on scout duty. It just looked like a giant red dot. Idk if it's a PlayStation thing or I'm blind too but when I do the raid tomorrow I'll be looking closer. I just need ppl to stay dedicated and not leave after 5 minutes
I haven't seen tractor actually increase the shield damage. Without it, and perfect combo, I've been doing about 99K, and I've never seen it go higher. Are we sure it matters? I will say, the only runs with a tractor were LFG, and they weren't the best squads, so maybe the buff just wasn't there
@@AboveDestiny I'm guessing the debuff only lasts a second or two. Very possible the tractor guy in our squad only hit him once and possibly too early. I'll try it out again tonight with my own clan. For background, I've got well over 400 D1 Crota kills, and while the combo is a little different here, I hit my combos more often than not...but certainly not every time. Anyone who says they never miss just hasn't done it much, lol. Crota loves to dance around.

I did the same thing with the bridge for my first clear! Then just blind the sword bearer knights that spawn up there and push ‘em off the map.

Pretty much the same with what we did, the heavy or light span doesn’t really matter at the end since shield easily breaks in two swords!
