Warren is one of the most talented guys in rock music today both on guitar as well as vocally. And let's not forget he wrote Soulshine with the ABB. I saw him touring with the Allman's many times back in the day and he always impressed. Whether playing lead, acoustic or playing slide he could trade licks with Dickey, Derek Trucks, or whoever else was on the stage. At times he had to cover Greg's vocals when Greg wasn't in the best of health. When the Dead needed assistance I saw Warren tour with them. Warren Haynes is an absolutely amazing musician and vocalist.Listen to him cover Neil Young's Cortez the Killer with DMB, awesome.I was pretty much blown away listening to him covering all this Pink Floyd material here. The man can absolutely do it all. When he comes to a town near you, GO SEE HIM. You will not be disappointed.

I respect for him was always high but the way he was able to play like Gilmour without sounding like Gilmour is exceptional. He did same thing playing Duane's classiv parts without copying yet making fans happy.

Warren Haynes, Gov’t Mule, Dark Side Of The Mule Deliver 6-Hour Red Rocks Super Show! September 14th, Warren Haynes made his huge return to the legendary Red Rocks Amphitheatre with a three-set, six-plus-hour super show. Each set featured a version of Warren Haynes mastery, opening up with a rare solo acoustic set, followed by a set from Gov’t Mule, and closing with their highly acclaimed “Dark Side of the Mule” tribute to Pink Floyd set.

To call it bad ass is totally shorting it. I saw pink Floyd in 87. Warren was better at Floyd than Floyd. Hands down. So got my money's worth. Every show should be this long

@glenholmgren1218 you got that spot on. WH is so underrated for what he can do with that guitar in his hands. Very few are able to smoke it to the ground like he does so incredibly well, and he makes it look so easy, and so cool at the same time.

Sorry to say but i do not agree with most of the comments. I have been listening to Floyd for over 50 years and although this line up is pretty good they are not a patch on The Australian Pink Floyd show or Brit floyd. Have a listen to them and you will hear a version that is far better than this. The vocals on The Great Gig In The Sky were so off par and there was more screeching than controlled vocals it made me cringe. I know everyone has different uptakes on music but i would not pay to see this line-up.

I dont want to see a nameless cover band do a note for note rendition. I want to see a slide god's interpretation of it. I want to see Phish mid90s Quadrophenia (Who). Or seeing Dream Theater cover Floyd, Deep Purple, Iron Maiden albums.
I'm a fan of Haynes, Mule, ABB... seeing them play another style of music I like is the big thrill.
Imagining Haynes playing some Dire Straits or ACDC album is what I want, not an exact reproduction.
I was in high school in mid 70s and played the music for decades and in no way, shape or form did I expect to hear an imitation. And I've seen DSOM album cover dozens of time.
If that's what you expect, then you will always be disappointed because it doesn't sound the same. And probably have missed the point of performing live music.
This was a 6hr concert. 2hr Haynes solo. 2hrs Govt Mule. 2hrs Dark Side album. Not a nostalgia act.

do the Australian Pink Floyd and red Pink Floyd live and breathe and practice Pink Floyd daily. this was just a side project the mule wanted to do and thank God they did. trying to compare this to bands that practice this everyday for years is kind of apples and oranges. you're telling me you would not pay to go see the show. obviously there's only one show you would pay to go see and that Pink Floyd but thank God to the rest of us that the mule is out there and kicking ass. I doubt they practiced it 10 times and completion before they went on tour. they're just such great musicians that they sound wonderful at whatever they do. Warren stays so busy it's a stress to think they did it 10 times before touring it true masters of thier craft. I feel sorry for you sir you seem like the type that is looking for the negative instead of listening to how good this show and picking out the positive. I've seen the Australian Pink Floyd show in New York City and thought it was kind of lacking myself. but it was still a good show. I'm sure the mule won't miss you. enjoy your Pink Floyd cover bands
