I did the Axis Flying upgrade/update/whatever for someone, but he hasn't tested it yet. Beefy as all hell for sure, but I assume the bigger motors and props take care of that. I've had my Aavata since October 2022 and still love it. I haven't done the RID firmware update at all, so I don't need a phone connected. I don't do FPV with mine, as I have my own freestyle quads for that.
Oh cool, yeh goes to 3.5 inch with the upgrade and flies better by all accounts. Not sure it's worth it now with the release of the avata 2. Thanks for watching
Thanks for the update Pav. I haven't yet made the jump to FPV but a drone with all the safety features and progression from sport to full manual and durability is an enticing proposition. It would suitable for me being a newbie to FPV and wanting to achieve cinematic flights. It will be interesting to see how the upgrades pan out. Hearing good things about the kit regarding power and reduced noise levels.
No worries my friend. Yeh it's exactly that tbh a great entry into getting fpv shots and durability of it will be important for you as probs you will crash a few times in the beginning. That will make a video on the upgrade as soon as I'm able to 👍
I finished it, but I kept getting a propulsion error and it wouldn't take off, I spend a good few days trying to sort this issue but had to give up on it as don't have time 😔
Id highly recommend this drone. I have the Motion 2 controller and it's a blast to just cruise around. Easy enough that everyone I've let try can fly it with no problem.
Heard that the 2nd avata will be coming out soon but I don't know when, you could always get this avata and then sell and buy the avata 2 in a few months but depends how patient you are
I haven't got the goggles 2 unfortunately other yeh I'd give that a go as well. It's it worth it to get the goggles 2 for that feature in your opinion?
Great video Pav ! Avata is a nice drone for flying on an empty field with not much winds but... I'm going to sell it as it really failed me on my last adventure to the Canary Islands, where I wouldn't be able to fly more often than not 😅 Sticing with FPV + GoPro Very well put together video 👏
Thanks for watching mate. Nah the avata for me has been for my indoor flights and flying in tight spaces, it's amazing for gaps. I agree with you tho it's not good for windy conditions. The DJI fpv for me would just be such a pain to carry around for travelling, too big and bulky. You'd be better off with a 5 inch drone which is much more portable and fly's really well in windy conditions 👍👌
Yes the upgrade didn't work out for me, I kept getting FC and esc errors after the install and I don't have time to figure it out at the moment. I'd say stick with the regular avata for now 👍
The DJI hd camera is not great at all so it would be a very early version like GoPro 4 or 5 but the o3 camera is definitely comparable to a hero 7 or maybe 8 so it's good but it's just more about tte lack of detail in the shadows of the o3 camera that I'm not a fan of
Very nice! I am looking forward to the Axis Flying Kit bc I am deciding wether I should buy it or not. It would cover the bad features like no power and noise but I have seen that the prop guards will get in your view. So please try it if it is worth it or not!
I've had a go at it but not been successful, keep getting errors on my FC in the goggles so trying to diagnose the issue but overall I'd have to say don't bother as it seems like a lot of hassle 😞
How confident would you feel with it over water? In terms of the yaw tumble. Trying to chase my brothers boat and get some cool fishing shots. I do it with my regular quad but I’ve lacked confidence in flying the avata over water because of that issue you mentioned.
Yeh I think I'd be pretty confident with it over water personally. Like I said not sure if it's the firmware update but I've been freestyling with it and it doesn't tumble anymore even trying to yaw as quickly as I can to try and make it tumble and it wouldn't like before.
Thanks a lot man, appreciate the compliment. Yeh a cheap avata is Def on the cards at the moment and yeh me too I'm excited to see what DJI can offer us next 😊
Two Avata batteries with a charger cost $280. I bought four batteries for my Mobula8 for $25. I paid about $400 for the drone (analog), a set of fat shark goggles and a Radiomaster Pocket. Everything new. If I spent $280, I could get 44 batteries. I can buy a DJI 03 Air unit for about $260. Even if I bought 44 batteries and the Air unit for this drone I would still be in it for about $950.
I'd say it's still worth buying especially if it's your first fpv drone. Can't go wrong. And if a new version comes out then sell this one and upgrade depending on if you feel like you want the new one, the upgrade may not be significant enough
@@pavguliani amazing thank you! I followed your suggestion and as you said is amazing for a begginger. Will see if the upgrade worth it. Maybe in a couple of years when the DJI Care expires.
I dont know about others but one of the things I love about the avata is the screaming noise coming out of it. Its so satisfying
Really is delightful, I hope the avata 2 is even screechier! 😂😂😂
@@pavguliani hahaa 😆

Wow such a nice comment mate thanks has made my day! :) gonna keep working hard and maybe one day can get there 😁. Cheers for watching

I am actually coming around to getting one. I really liked both reviews thanks Pav.
AHH amazing yeh I'd definitely recommend it. Thanks for watching 🙏
What are your thoughts about 3.5 with AXISFLYING kit, did you finished it? 🧐
I finished it, but I kept getting a propulsion error and it wouldn't take off, I spend a good few days trying to sort this issue but had to give up on it as don't have time 😔
7:13, its not, although i have only tried it with 2s batteries and never had an issue and saved a lot of time
I tried it once and got fire so I'm sure I didn't do it right and never tried it again haha
Id highly recommend this drone. I have the Motion 2 controller and it's a blast to just cruise around. Easy enough that everyone I've let try can fly it with no problem.
Yeh exactly. I've never actually tried the motion controller but would like to give it a go one day for the ease of use.
Awesome video. I'm an impatient person but i heard rumors that the avata 2 might come out this year. Should i wait or purchase the 1st gen avata?
111% wait im also gonna #wait 🎩

@pavguliani thanks for the response. I decided I'm going to wait for the avata 2. Just practicing on simulators at the moment.
Have you tried using the head tracking feature? You can change camera angle just by looking and still stay on your flight path.....
I haven't got the goggles 2 unfortunately other yeh I'd give that a go as well. It's it worth it to get the goggles 2 for that feature in your opinion?
It only works with motion controller, so unfortunately not.@@pavguliani

Any update concerning the more powerful and less noisy avata yet ?
I’m struggling to choose btw the normal and the other

Which version of gopro would you compare to the dji HD camera, and which would you compare to the dji 03 camera

Grwat video man, excited to see either Avata 2 or Avata mini whatever comes next. My pick up a cheap avata in the mean while

great timing i just ordered an avata a few hours ago
Oh cool, yeh you won't regret it, very good value for money
@thehoodiestore I want this to be true, but my wallet is getting nervous.
Haha same! @@DonnK-rc4im
Yes but need to use axisflying frame
Yeh I will give it a try for sure
Still they have no intention of fixing that yaw bug which makes the Avata unusable.
I think it's been fixed in a firmware update or at least it's less sensitive than it was
@@pavgulianiYes they made the Avata react slower to yaw commands strictly avoiding a proper fix so people still have the same problem.

Yeh this is true, looks like you got a good deal, I just wouldn't want to be carrying around that many batteries
Yeah analog vs digital, right…
I have an idea…EAR PLUGS! 😂
Do DJI make ear plugs as well??
You'll have to give earplugs to the people that have to experience the sound of a DJI Avada flying past them
i need to get one
They are good and quite cheap now!
It’s sooo loud I can hear it 500 feet away from my apartment complex in the woods. Sport mode you can hear it in the next county lol
Haha I know man it's painful but I think I got used to it. 😅
Nice Review! I agree!!!
Thanks Keson!
I love this drone in manual
Yeh it's a great drone 😁
Thanks
No problem :)
you talk alot about your drone job, how did you get started, i wanted to start myself using regular drones.
You mean how did I start to get work with my drones?
How about buying instead of waiting for the next iteration? DJI is not fulfilling any more combos from now on and will sell only product in-stock.

8 months? I have the avata for almost one and a half year now, it has been out longer then that😂
Yeh but I've had mine for 8 months hence the title of this video 👍👍
@@pavguliani ohh that makes sense
I mean, was it ever?
It was
Is the rc2 controller I got with my mini 4 pro compatible with the avata?
No that won't be compatible with the avata I'm afraid.
That shriek reminds me of the new Russian fighter jets!
Hahaha yeh it's up there for sure
