I had a Black and Decker drill that someone gave me for Christmas. I kept it in my truck for years. It was great and I wasn’t happy when it finally quit me.
The contractor working on my house uses all DeWalt and they obviously use them way harder than we would. I know a couple of other contractors who use them as well.
I’m cheap so when I needed a cordless reciprocal saw about 15 years ago I looked at Milwaukee but ended up buying a full Craftsman set for the same price. The original batteries didn’t last long but I was able to upgrade them at Christmas a couple years later when they had sales on a tool with a battery.
After over ten years of use I finally started losing those batteries but I just went to the jungle and bought several more pretty cheap.
I’ve been so happy with them that I recently started buying the new Craftsman because they had a couple of new tools that I needed. I bought a bulb digger they had, made an extension for the auger, and used it to tunnel under my sidewalk. I got the little hand vacuum as well.

Craftsman’s tools are the bomb; bout all my wrenches & socket sets. I never have used any of the cordless stuff. Prob all brands are pretty good actually. Whatever brand you go with, you have to stay with that brand because of the batteries.

Nice collection you've gotten. Bought a corded Dewalt Hammer drill years ago for some concrete work I did. Only dewalt tool I've owned but worked great for me. When I went cordless I went Ryobi just because I had a Ryobi weed eater for a few years and it worked great. That pruning saw is something I could definitely use. Battery powered works great for what Iittle I need the tool for. Steve

Cordless is so nice. Yeah, you sorta get roped in to a certain brand by the batteries but likely all brands work well now.
