I'm not black but I am overwhelmed with pride and tears especially when the music starts and the entire choir sings. I feel connected to this rich culture. I feel Africa's entire history unfold before my very eyes. Lion King was always my favorite as a child. Thank you Tim Rice.
If you haven't seen the show.......you MUST. I saw it when I was a boy and it was the most amazing and beautiful thing I've ever seen. The colors, the story, the actors, the production, the music. Everything. GO SEE THIS PLAY. It's worth every penny.
***** Saw it with my sister in 2007 and I completely agree with you! I bought the tickets and I don't make much money so we sat at the top but the top can actually be great seats. The theater here is small so you can still see the people on stage and as the animals came from the audience we could see everything! This and Phantom Of The Opera are the two greatest shows I have ever seen!
This song usually gets people emotional because for many of us it was a part of our childhood. Seeing it in the theater the opening was like nothing most of us have ever seen or heard. It is a very powerful song.
Well.. I saw it finally in NYC and couldn't stop cryring. It was my childhood and no matter if you've seen the cartoon or not, this musical is a must. Totally amazed.
Can B happened to me as well when I first saw them in London's West End. I had no idea what to expect, I just heard it was awesome. And it blew my mind. Cried like a kid after this first song. Fucking magical.
+Can B For me, when i feel homesick i watch it so i feel like i"m somewhat home again. (i'm South African.) I feel like they just capture the wonder and magic you feel back home so well.
I saw this show on Broadway the first year it opened in 1997. My daughter bought the tickets for $25 each in the back of the theater. But let me tell you, they were the best seats in the house because your eye concentrated on the tops of their heads and the costumes came to life so much so that you never even noticed the people in them! And when the animals came down the aisle, you swore they were real! I cried also. It was truly a magical experience!!!! Absolutely the best Broadway musical ever!!!
I took my late son Omar to see this in 2005 in Melbourne. He passed on a year later. Still feel sad whenever I hear this song. Great performance. Thanks for sharing.
I saw Lion King on stage in San Francisco tonight, and I burst into tears during Circle of Life because it is SIMPLY STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! I love the universality that this represents, because no matter who you are, this shows us how we are all one human family.
i don’t think the audience understood how difficult this is for them to perform this well. this is absolutely amazing and even better in person. from my experience these people work very hard for this performance and they do amazing
At 82 years old I feel that beat of this beautiful music it makes me feel the motherland always been so very proud to be black and to know where I came from now I feel the beat and it makes me very happy
Fuck it, I am not afraid to admit ... I grew up watching the Lion King in cinema's when it first came out. Hell it might be the only movie I cry every time Mufasa dies, even as a grown man. About 10 years later I watched the musical in London, an incredible performance and the chills running down my spine when they sing the Circle of Life.
Kids these days watch Disney movies they think are cool, but they should watch the real classics like The Lion King, which is a million times better then the stuff they put out now.
Years later and still the same. I get goosebumps everything I hear the circle of life. I had also the chance to see the musical in London and that intro with all the animals coming from everywhere made me cry (I was not expecting that)
Just saw this on tour. A must see show. The cast, the dancing and the music was outstanding. 💖💖💖 The dancing and the animal resemblances by the performers again outstanding.
Song is one of the most deep Soul touching songs that tugs at your Heartstrings and warms up your soul. You can feel the tears wanting to come down but confused by the feeling of happiness. I saw this play three times and each and every time was absolutely amazing.
I have litterally seen all musicals in london for the past 10 years and the Lion King will always remain my number one of all time !!! nothing has come close to beating it! truly one of a kind amazing!!!!!
My wonderful children gave me the gift for my 60th this year to see the The Lion King and it didn't disappoint. In fact the best birthday present ever. Absolutely loved it. Want to watch it again. The cast were amazing.
I have many videos of this. Its beautiful, in any language. Tears and every joyful emotion is what this performance is all about. Nothing will move you more.🥰
This is so powerful and moving but what you may not know is this particular cast not only did this in English for the British and the American audiences they also did in completely in French for the audiences in France. I'm not sure if this cast does it in more languages but I just thought it was so amazing and beautiful to hear this in a different language from the very same cast. It was so moving I cried like a baby through the entire performance. From reading the comments here I see that it has moved many of you to tears as well. It's just such a loving song it makes you want to go out and hug everyone.
As a South African, every time I watch this I get chills down my spin about how excellent we are as a nation and about the greatness of the gift of music that our continent has given to the world... we are blessed!!!
People of African descent are the most beautiful, soulful and gifted. I'm so grateful they share their talents with the whole world. You make our world so much more livable.
Superb show, thanks 4sharing This is another side of Africa not very diffused but that existe.!!! ...The african culture is there and it's absolutely positive to use these Great process to divulge the african culture all over the World.
The best musical I have ever participated in. Exciting, fun and very, very engaging. Although I am not a child, I confess that tears have appeared several times on my face. It has no age, no color, it is truly the circle of life, the life of each of us.
Actually, it's not "black", it's "brown", so, your're a bit farther from black. ☺ Much respect for the brown people, although I am a white one. Peace! ☺
I’ve seen Lion King with my son when he was 6yr. He then witnessed the emotional moment when he was 25. He cried again at this opening. He’s now a dad to his own simba. Hopefully,,, me, my son and grandson will see this fabulous production in about 5 years xxx
I used to watch Lion King every single day as a child, so it means a lot to me and my family, and I went to see it with my mum and grandma about two years ago, and my mum was in tears within thirty seconds and we were both crying by the end of it. It really is amazing.
So we can all agree that if aliens come to us and say they will destroy us all unless we have something beautiful to contribute, We will take them to see The Lion King. Why you ask? Well if this isn't good enough then nothing will convince them!
I am Asian, but I love this movie and like these as Tarzan etc. I love Africans and the special connection they have with the nature and animals just make me wanna travel there and hug loins and have fun with the people who are so close with it.
@@ImadFouad well not this particular one because they were here as guests to perform the song, but if you would like to find one just google it on youtube lion king full show. :)
I play this song everyday in my life I truly feel the apart of the circle of life the young lady's voice is just out of this world and when I see the young man portray The Lion King that strong beautiful face and how he adheres to the crowd to come with him it is just so beautiful yes young man you are The Lion King and I'm so proud of a whole cast of this beautiful beautiful play it makes me happy
This is still to this day the most incredible play I have EVER seen and that's coming from someone who's seen wicked 4 times. The casting is absolutely phenomenal and their voices are so natural and beautiful. And no...I'm not crying my eyes are just watering.
My wife and I hhe souad an amazing game watching experience at a small game lodge in the southern Kruger NP last September.... We were so fortunate to see so much game.... but..... the experience of seeing and listening to The Lion King is one of my life's most memorable moments...... I am a 67 year old guy who never knows what will bring the emotions crashing down..... let me tell you, the first 30 seconds of Circle of Life had me in floods of tears ... If you haven't seen it - do it while you can - it will be with you for ever..... !!
No matter how many times I see this, or what language it happens to be in, it ALWAYS makes tears literally stream down my face! I feel so many emotions at once. It's purely a thing of beauty.
The most extraordinary song ever that brings me to tears every time I watch the Broadway actors sing it, no matter where it plays or here on the amazing Utube!!!! Love Utube & thank-you for bringing this to us!♥️
Disney will never be able to do this again with any other animated motion picture. Certain things are so majestic and Grand that it can only be done ONCE! Lion King is more than a masterpiece
It saddens me that I can only hit the 'Like' button once....I have watched this performance at least 100 times, and still can't get enough ( I get teary-eyed every time) I mean, the Giraffes & Gazelles... are you kidding me?!!1 SO profoundly beautiful, I can hardly stand it!!💞💕
Amen 🙏🏽 it’s spiritual. Always will be a beautiful song 🎵 African heritage is beautiful n the sounds of Africa. The lion king 👑 is the best for all to see n it’s n enjoyment to witness. 🙏🏽🙌🏼👏🏽👏🏽🤗
My God, this is so beautiful - hits you in the soul. This is a Disney Broadway production - my son was Scar in the Disney Junior Lion King. Such a beautiful joy to see them. They work so hard, and to see the fruit of their rehearsals is intense.
Each time I saw the production, I was on the edge of my seat .. overwhelmed! I felt as though many in the audience were at a tea party. This never ever gets old or routine. The greatest production ever. It could run for all time.
I have seen this show twice and both times this opening was so stunning and unexpected, even the second time - bird suddenly flying over your head, an elephant walking down the aisle beside you, more and more and more just coming up and that music! - I could not keep myself from crying. It is the most amazing piece of theatre I have ever seen,
This is one of the 50 best songs ever created. I watched the movie at the cinema in 1994 and cried multiple times... i then bought the soundtrack and played it over and over and over... and cannot but find piece within myself whenever I do.
I saw the live performance twice in LA. and once in San Francisco in the early 2000's. We all went for my daughters Sweet 16 birthday...A giraffe and a huge elephant actually walked down the isles from the back of the theatre to the stage. It took our breath away all 3 times...The giraffe would bow over the audience and the faces of the children were priceless! I still get chills!! LOVE Rafiki. She's the original one here!! My daughter is now 33 and she still talks about her wonderful experience!!
I was a large muscular man in my earlier days who was given a dire health forecast in my late 40's. So what would any good Canadian Guy do ... he calls his Suisse girlfriend and says lets go to Africa. I had previously worked in Kenya and had many contacts including an old Canadian University mate, the current business manager of a large Masai Tribe. We traveled to Kenya and Tanzania where we lived with a Masai family / Tribe. The Tribes Warriors adopted me (the comparison is laughable). We explored the Cradle of Life. We walked and slept in the Great Rift. We explored the Serengeti and Masa Mara. We drank bad water and threw up for days. This one trip truly changed my life for ever. I have lived 4 years past my forecasted death and I believe this African Exposure may just be the cause. What a wonderful experience!
Wow! What an amazing performance. There is this choir from the Philippines called Philippine Madrigal Singers. They won the European Grand Prix for choral singing twice and their Circle of Life song is equally magnificent as this one. Thanks for sharing your gift of music.
I loved this broadway show and movie! I got to see it about a year ago and while watching it brought back many memories and I actually forgot I was watching actors all I could see was the animals. It was worth every penny!
First musical I ever saw which made me fall in love with all musicals. I saw it when I was just 5 years old with my grandfather who sadly passed away earlier this year so every time I see something about the lion king it brings back so many wonderful memories
We also saw this at the Pantages Theater when it first came to Los Angeles! I agree with you, and I’m so thankful for those memories! I remember seeing a preview for the play on TV, maybe on the televised Tony Awards and waking up my husband and telling him “we’re going to see it when it plays in California”! Spectacular!
I feel like the life performance of the song is much better. Probably because it show it's African vibe in some parts of the song. I never felt so proud to be African. But lets remember one of the biggest message of this song. No matter who you are, where you are from, what you look or sound like, we are all connected in the circle of life.
the african culture is amazing- especially the tribal culture- observe very carefully- u learn so much- this new era has destroyed its natural beauty- and that breaks my heart-
I saw this in Cincinnati Ohio earlier this year. I had been wanting to see this show for as long as I can remember and like everyone has been saying, I couldn't stop crying tears of joy during this song. (Call me soft or make fun of me, I'm not ashamed)
+Matthew Steele I'm finally getting to see this in June, and I know I'm going to cry right away too. There's no shame in being emotional when a childhood dream comes to fruition.
BEAUTIFUL!!! u cld feel the praises being sung...u dont have to speak the language to understand what is going on...just amazing and uplifting...thank you!
This song means so much to me that I can't help crying. The Lion King has a special place in my heart forever.
Same here. it is so deep. cant believe I am in the middle of the circle of life. Just cant believe it
How quickly time passes...I had just arrived on this planet..not so long ago...and wont take it too long while I will be departing.
+Asadullah Khan I feel the same. But We still have the chance to be the best we can. I'm sure that now you know how to enjoy your life more than ever.
Yes. but feeling of being non existent is heart tearing ☺
+Asadullah Khan 😦😦 better don't go so deep in this matter or we'll be sad. Let's only be thankful for living till today. Everyday.🙌
I'm not black but I am overwhelmed with pride and tears especially when the music starts and the entire choir sings. I feel connected to this rich culture. I feel Africa's entire history unfold before my very eyes. Lion King was always my favorite as a child. Thank you Tim Rice.
Music touches us all and Africa roots leads to everyone, this is such a beautiful song and I’m thankful I had this as a kid too
Yeah even tho I’m black many of know nothing about our culture or ancestry cuz if slavery but I felt so connected to this
You don’t have to be a certain race to appreciate other cultures…. Just human.
Beautifully put...
Amazing it’s so beautiful and spectacular seeing their dresses and listening to their powerful voices 😊❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉

The first dang note of this dang song... DAYUM. Right in the feels.

Can B Same as you ! I didn't care my brothers were like 'Sister stop, you're lame' this is my childhood and meant so much to me :')
+Can B For me, when i feel homesick i watch it so i feel like i"m somewhat home again. (i'm South African.) I feel like they just capture the wonder and magic you feel back home so well.

What triggers my emotion is when the music changes and the animals walk onto the stage and come down through the audience.
I took my late son Omar to see this in 2005 in Melbourne. He passed on a year later. Still feel sad whenever I hear this song. Great performance. Thanks for sharing.
Andrew Susay It's wonderful that you could share this joy together! I'm sure he always treasured the experience, as should you!!!
Sorry for your loss. May his soul Rest In Peace.I too was just thinking how my son loved this show also and passed two years ago.

I watch this as a proud Zulu, it simply warms my heart..

I'm Rafiki totally harmless lol
BROWN.DONUT youre lucky
I know what you mean! :)
I hope you take no offence to this but why would the heart of a Zulu be warmed by something set in a part of Africa that speaks primarily Swahili?
At 82 years old I feel that beat of this beautiful music it makes me feel the motherland always been so very proud to be black and to know where I came from now I feel the beat and it makes me very happy
The opening, especially at 0:55, always gives me goosebumps and never fails to make me smile

My brain just can't even. It's hard to comprehend the awesomeness that is this performance.

Alright now. I am hoping one day to see that musical in person.😊
I see lots of smiles, in the audience. Look for the positive and you'll find it. Magnificent performance!
I’m 35 and I Love The Lion King, will always be my favorite Disney movie ever!!
Now I’m 41 😢

Chills, goosebumps, tears and joy all at once. Its amazing how music touches the soul!
Wow! What an amazing performance. There is this choir from the Philippines called Philippine Madrigal Singers. They won the European Grand Prix for choral singing twice and their Circle of Life song is equally magnificent as this one. Thanks for sharing your gift of music.
Wo! my rich culture and language portrayed so well on this play. I missed home even more.
I loved this broadway show and movie! I got to see it about a year ago and while watching it brought back many memories and I actually forgot I was watching actors all I could see was the animals. It was worth every penny!
Just saw this live last week. It was amazing and they got a standing ovation at the end!
Always got chills whenever I watched this. Lion King will always be my fave Disney films
This song always makes me emotional. I love it.
First musical I ever saw which made me fall in love with all musicals. I saw it when I was just 5 years old with my grandfather who sadly passed away earlier this year so every time I see something about the lion king it brings back so many wonderful memories
I saw this at the Pantages theatre in L.A. It was so breathtaking, so spectacular. I will never forget it as long as I live.
This is so amazing. I'm afraid if I ever saw this live I'd get all emotional and wouldn't be able to behave myself. Highly beautiful performance
.
Way better singer than anyone out there but doesn't get recognized because she still has her soul
Would give my right arm to have seen this live. Beautiful and moving. Tears of joy, right in the feels!
My late son took me to see the lion king live awe inspiring amazing one of the best memories of my life
the african culture is amazing- especially the tribal culture- observe very carefully- u learn so much- this new era has destroyed its natural beauty- and that breaks my heart-
Say it and say it again
Africa will always remain in my heart. Africa is home to all. Africa is home to life. Africa is splendid. Africa is beautiful.
I saw this in Cincinnati Ohio earlier this year. I had been wanting to see this show for as long as I can remember and like everyone has been saying, I couldn't stop crying tears of joy during this song. (Call me soft or make fun of me, I'm not ashamed)
Don't worry, I feel the same way!
+Matthew Steele I'm finally getting to see this in June, and I know I'm going to cry right away too. There's no shame in being emotional when a childhood dream comes to fruition.
+Matthew Steele I saw this in NYC with front row seats on the end, I almost cried. I was sitting on the end closest to the most used aisle!
Everyone who doesn't cry during this song is either a robot or has no heart.
Thats for sure.
I dont know why i cries while watching this. I admire the pasion and the artistry of the performers.
