With ALL tools, ALWAYS follow factory recommended procedures and ALWAYS follow proper safety procedures when using them. Хобби
I'm so thankful people make random videos like this
All my cutter and pliers are Tsunoda . ( side cutter, long noise, diagonal cutter, combination plier) Good value and all are very sharp edge and durable . The main company name is King TTC in Japan
The icon flush cuts are about the best tool they make.
Overkill for zip ties.
But finish nails and staples are cut easily instead of trying to pull
The spring loaded Doyle are best for zip ties
The non spring loaded Doyle for small wires
🤣 100% I loved how you said the ICON even copied SO with the stiff joint. I've never enjoyed that aspect on SO pliers.
Haha, yeah, they should be smooth if you’re paying that much!
Regarding the "takumi" section, for reference here is an English translation.
(Note: It doesn't say "takumi" in Japanese. Rather it says "hatsuke" meaning "blade adjustment". "takumi" means expert skill.)
Blade adjustment: A skilled craftsman hand-aligns the blades one by one with a file.
This is the most important process in determining the sharpness and cut of the blades.
It requires delicacy from a skilled craftsman not possible by a machine
to produce a sharp cut.
Icon for the win!
Had no idea flush cutters had such an extensive market. Neat.
Hello again Auto Bahn Dan
Thank you for another Great Video. Hey there Dad. Make those memories with the Kid's. You have no idea how important that will be later in life. I enjoyed the Video, maybe in next one you can include the kids. Again thank you
i really love the Tsunoda, i have the 5 inch and they even make a 4 inch version , but they're a bit too small imo, anyway, id be really awesome if they'd make it a catch nipper version, with either the finger thing or like their catch nipper with the silicone inserts. pretty cool the godhands! i heard about it but never seen one in a video yet! if you decide to keep going with flush cutters ,as a suggestion, could you try the Hozan, Fujiya, Victor, and Tronex? i never seen a review of neither
I might be able to get some more Fujiya stuff and they are also owners of Victor! I almost got Hozan and lindstrom for this video. Never heard of Tronex! I’ll see about a video when I finally get my 3rd 45 degree Knipex cutter!
I use the maroon Kleins. The handle is great.
Fujiya, Keiba, Engineer, Merry, Hozan and Lobster are some other plier brands made in Japan that I think are worth making another video comparison. Also, they’re a bit cheaper than Godhand. I believe Fujiya manufacturers Godhands (not really sure) but most of those brands have flush cutters meant for only plastic as well as other pliers to get the parts off the runners.
I use all of those brands for low voltage work and they’re still sharp. A lot of guys at work use Milwaukee cutters but they do not hold up as well. Love Tsunoda cutters, those are my EDC for work.
Cool video!
I’ve used a bunch of these since they get used everyday all day, had good luck with the crescent brand and use the knipex pretty much exclusively as they are the only ones to handle small wires without dulling. I wanted to try your deal there but I guess half of the world did to lol
Ah! Yes! I hate when that happens! Sometimes it helps switching to a different region on Amazon or eBay to find them!
I just got the Tsunoda 150s so well made
also have the Godhand. I bought it 8 years ago for 1:35 tank models.but upper jaws(thin jaws) Slightly bend Even i don't use it often.I don't even know when do I bends
I’ve looked at the stahlwille ones but never pulled the trigger.
ive been using these $2 flush cuts from menards its there store brand, and they are actually amazing, ive only used them for zip ties but they still work fantastic
Wish I had a Menards near me!
The tool shop ones?
@@feyrband yes they work very well, every once and a while the rivet starts to push apart ever so slightly so they dont cut as well, i stick em in the vise and clamp the rivet back down and it fixes it
Good vid Dan
hey cc, your videos are great :) maybe add the fujiya 90cs-125 made in japan!
If those Doyle’s were on sale I’d go with them 20-30% off
If you want to Thomas And Bets Has a tie rap gun it's around a $100 but it's meant for doing a lot more than just one at a time It will tighten and cut
If you're looking for high quality pliers swanstrom, Lindstrom, tronex, excelta. They're made for jewelry/electronics and they are ridiculously precise. They've each got 15- 50 different cutters at different angles. They only issue is that the price follows the quality. Top of the line ones can cost a couple hundred BUT if you're making precision cuts all the time...my favorite handles are the Lindstrom but I like my swanstrom a little better.
You demonstrated the pull function of the Tsunoda flush cuts wrong, you are supposed to grab the tail of the tie flush against the head as if you were ready to cut then roll the cutters to get a lot of leverage to tighten the tie.
That could be a wrong way depending on the job you’re doing
Them blue ones on the left are epic been using them for about 5 years and still kickn but the biggest prob why alpt of tolls break is the are using the wrong tool for the job and then break it and grip
Yeah, it’s always when you’re in a hurry and those are the first to grab! Then you get tempted to use them on something they’re not made to be used with! Lol
They now have a micro flush cutter 'nipex as well.😆
The gripping jaws behind the pivot of the Tsumodas might be for squeezing the head of the zip tie so you can open it up without cutting it.
When squeezing a zip tie, you do that so you don’t destroy what you’re dismantling and you might damage what you’re dismantling with the end of the cutters nearby like that. It’s a possibility, but you gotta be careful.. a good set of pliers might be more handy..
Are you in to Gunpla? Godhands are the crown jewel of cutters for Gunpla hobbyists.
Wish I had the time! I definitely can see them working perfect on those!
ahh the god hand the difference between the 2, is that the blue one has a more "finer" (read thin) cutting edge. the good thing is that the red handled one is "cheaper" and mostly gets the job done, but if you want to simply cut plastic like a knife through soft butter the blue handled one and the lighter red one (if you are a lefty) is simply the "best" thing is because the cutting edge is SO THIN this cutter has to be "babied" also the red handled one can also be found in the form of the Wave single sided cutter if not mistaken its also an ODM manufactured God Hand
blade Geometry wise the red handled one has a more traditional side cutter profile so if you need to cut in some weird space they are the better option as the wide point of the SPN-120 will not fit in some spaces
Thanks for the info! 🙌
Damn, those icon brand are a blatant snap on copy. Even got the handle color and texture are right.
Likely made in the same factory, even.
did i miss the part where you used tsunoda?
Looks like I used them at 9:40
The red one everyone recommends snapped and one of the blades shot right at my eye. Good thing I had protection on.
This is why trying to save money on tools just isn’t worth it. I want the best period.
the ICON?
😎⚒️😎⚒️😎
I don't really care about the plastic cutters and for the small one especially compared to the $100 knipex I'd like to see and would have thought you'd go with like the Klein ones that are avaliable in store at my The Home Depot for like $12 made in America I think and then I want to try Milwaukie has some for like $15 but I haven't seen them in store
It just so happens bro I just order that Japanese cutter 3 hours go than see your video 😁
Oh! Haha! Nice!🔥🔥 you will definitely enjoy it!
@@AutobahnDan I love the 125 version, but the 150mm version always has problems with the build quality. The first order used, the second order jaws cannot be fully engaged, and the third order jaws are misaligned. The fourth order used
@@willy_9361 wow! Used stuff from Amazon?😳
@@AutobahnDan yea I order 4 pair of 150mm version from Amazon and all ways problems,I really like the feeling of 150mm in my hand, I am hesitating whether to continue to order from different sellers Until i get a good jaw
@@willy_9361 yeah, you got to be careful on Amazon
For a moment there, I had assumed you were a -fellow- weeaboo.
If anyone wants the knipex you can order them from Home Depot for $66 instead of $102.
I love Knipex!
👍🏻🍻🍺🐶 If you want some of the good ones your pay form some of the hobby companies make up beneath makeup you can go to gundam planet and they have a pair for sale The Japanese Model companies have some beautiful ones but you pay for them You take care
KONAMAN!!🍻🍻 yeah, there is quite a few out there! There’s knock off of the God hands as well!
LOL GODHANDS
People don't just use these to cut zip ties.
Dude repeats himself way to much
Those Doyle’s are junk
I can appreciate details when it applies to a review, but honestly you turned a 10 minute max review into a rambling babbling 30 minute life story. Disliked.
That’s the way I roll!!! if you don’t like it, don’t watch!!😉👍👍
Is your name Karen by chance? What a whiner!
