I have started this project after view several others. I like eliminating the sleeves but have found a problem if you have more on top. After cutting the angle from the arm opening to the top collar the bust line can create a major gap in the arm opening area. The only way to get this to lay flat is to add a dart for the bust.

An additional step I did measure the skirt top and then match the attached circle to that to top without pleats or gathering. Since I took in the side seams I got rid of the row of buttons down the front on the attached piece. No gaps.
Did you do any adjusting to the collar? I find oversize men's shirts often are 17 or even 18" at the neck. Your neck seems to fit well.
