I'm so glad I found you! The past year I've lost my Dad and step Dad and asked for dress shirts. Now I have the confidence to cut and create something with those shirts. Thank you!
You have an awesome talent and genius designs. The one thing I definitely want to point out is, I appreciate you still wearing garments you said you've had for a long time. Thanks for not being shallow.
You have so many good ideas. This did remind me of a WWII sewing book I used to have, where they also used men's shirts to make dresses and children's clothes.
God, you are a creative genius... so inspirational, girl! I too like men's clothes; mostly because of the quantity of fabric, the quality of the sewing, and the structured appearance but on the other hand I also like looking pretty, which is where your particular genius really kicks in.
Yesss! men's dress shirts are my favorite thing to upcycle. I have made some cuties out of men's shirts. So, thank you for all the good ideas and inspiration.
Im watching your video now on my tv - wow!! You have mad skills! I have a sewing machine but have no idea how to use it. You inspired me to take lessons
I am please, I came across your video. I have been revamping my clothes, children clothes, jewelry everything and turning them into something else. I L💖VE SEWING & RE-CREATING EVERYTHING that has no more use👸🏾👼🏾☺🤗
I cant wait for Next Top Upcycler either! I have my pity parties about how I can't find programming that I like. Next Top Upcycler is my fix!! It stops my pity party and puts a smile on my face and glee in my heart. Thank YOU, Angelina!! You're an angel!
Wow! So great to find someone who is working with the basic shirt structure and not turning them into kids' clothes! I love your style - LOVE the one with the French cuffs, but so many of these are good and I can wear them even at my age and style level! (Professional but with flair.) Thank you, you are fabulous!
You're a genius. I don't have nearly the fashion sense or courage you have, but I love watching you make and model your beautiful creations. Thanks so much for videos! I hope you and the kids (who probably aren't kids anymore) are well & happy. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
The jeans jacket/blazer mashup is the mullet of garments … business on the left, party on the right. Your creativity knows no boundaries, and your enthusiasm is adorable. ~ ♥️ ~
“Omg! That’s so clever!” I’m over here gasping and shouting at the video 😂 your stuff never gets old. NEVER. You inspire me regularly & not just for sewing. Your confidence and individuality make me feel confident to be more individual (like I used to be before life dragged me down lol) you are a gem and a treasure. Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
Love, love, love your style, your vibe, your energy!!! Yes, yes, yes, Angelina!!! Thank you for being such an inspiration, being YOU, and sharing with us! 💖💕💝
I love, love, LOVE how creative you were with all of your designs up-cycling men’s shirts!!! I had to Upcycle several men’s dress shirts for a high school production of Les Miserable several years ago. The shirts needed to have big puff sleeves for the era of men’s shirts during the French Revolution. It was super easy and what I did was cut the original sleeves off where it was sewn on at the top, at the shoulder and around under the armpit; I just simply cut it close to the seam. Then I cut off the cuffs and saved them. I used white broadcloth to cut out a new, larger/fuller style sleeve, sewed a seam down the sleeve, leaving a slit to serve as a placket above where the cuff would be attached, then gathered it a little at the shoulder and attached it to the shirt. Lastly, I made a pleat at the bottom of the sleeve finished the edge of the slit/placket, and attached the cuff by sewing directly over the original topstitched seam on the cuff. Saving me from having to make a whole new cuff, buttonhole and sewing on a button.🤗 I must have upcycled, at least, a dozen shirts, as it was a pretty large cast! The shirts had been donated to the theatre department from a tuxedo shop that had replaced their shirts or had gone out of business. It was fun to be creative and reuse all of those shirts that we had on hand.🥰
My grandmother took men's dress suits and redesigned dress outfits for herself. She would make dress, skirts, shorts, tops, hats, purses. My mother God bless her soul , taught my sisters and myself how to sew. I'm not as good as my sisters and my mother but , I learned to take my time when making clothing.
Love all these! My body shape in old age and having big babies has me making more empire style. I love men's shirts and tshirts. Better quality material. I use as linings for jean purses too. I just bought multiple tshirts on super clearance at Walmart. I buy 2 of each color. Use second to make elbow length sleeves and V insets at side seams so I have fit and flare. I sometimes buy oversized, split and sew back with elastic casing at waist or empire line. I will try some of your other ideas.
I love the plaid skirt too . That’s literally something I’d wear all the time ! You are great ! I love to take things an make them into other things too . One of the neatest things I ever made was a crochet purse for my daughter out of strips of heavy fleece fabric which was striped like a Mexican type pattern an bright pretty colors . . It made a great heavy duty purse an very pretty .
Yes! Thank you for taking the trouble to share all these ideas with us! You are such a strong, beautiful woman, and so creative and full of joy. I love sharing your videos with my daughters. Thanks for being you.
Angelina, I’m watching this video again because it’s so inspiring!!! I ended up buying as many mens silky knit polo shirts in the largest size I could find and making my 8 year old grandson PJ bottoms, he lives in those pants year around!!! Thanks for the inspiration, Judy
Angelina! I absolutely love these types of upcycles. Because of you, I have gone thrifting and bought two men's shirts and a pair of men's plaid slacks. Can't wait to upcycle and see how they turn out. Thank you so much for your invaluable inspiration! 🤗❤
I saw so many I want to try! Thinking about all the great men’s shirts I passed on that could have worked for these upcycles! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
You sent me on THE most creative tangent with those sundresses. 5 for family members, 6 went to the homeless shelter at church. Now I'm about to embark on another one! I just love all these great ideas you share with us. Thank you so much!
Add the jeans too the center front or back. You've creative side a going now. I can the belted outline too my recycled cargo skirts one tan and one dark army green. I'm a plus and that can work for me. Thank you inspiring me too get started and sharing we all my friends.
THIS WAS FAN-TAS-TIC 🥳 I loved, loved, loved seeing all the things that we can make, you can get shirts so cheaply and give these a go, thank sooooo much 😀
If you are not making a lot of money doing this, you should.I did not think I would have gotten through a whole twenty-something minute video. My favourites so far are the off the shoulder top, peplum belt and plaid skirt. My gosh..Talk about creativity.I wish there was a video to give ideas on how to wear the peplum belt
You are Amazing 😊I have a bunch of old shirts from my dad and my father- in that have been sitting around waiting for a recycle. Now I can make some meaning pieces for myself.
I'm glad you realized the challenge in finding specific upcycles sometimes. I have scoured for hours sometimes trying to find a vid to show someone. There's so much inspiration in this vid!!
Cant believe I sat thru the entire video but I couldn't wait to see each piece. Wish I had your talent. Everytime I would think, oh that's my favorite, the next would come and I would think it again ! Loved them all !
Thank you for your ability to think outside of the box amazes me! The great thing about this is at Goodwill, the men's clothing is always cheaper than women's, so this is perfect!
I have been watching you since you were sitting on your living room couch doing thrift hauls. I like seeing this compilation of all these incredible makes.
My little sister loves pirate-y, billowy poet sleeve tops and I think I'm going to find a men's top and make one from your tutorials for her birthday on New's Years Eve.
Your #1 favorite is my favorite, too! I was watching and as you went through the dress shirts and was disappointed that shirt wasn't included, and then there it is! Such a cool shirt and the first one I ever tried myself. I'm a novice upcycler, but hope to some day be able to do the kind of things you do. I'm just learning to use a more modern sewing machine than my mom's old basic Singer. It finally died and I had to upgrade.
Can someone please explain to me why I havn't been watching this girl from the beginning? I watch RUclips every day! I watch sewing, crafting, art channels with DIYs here and there. This girl is amazingly talented! At least RUclips final uy suggested her and I'm subscribed now! Amazing! 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
I loved watching this compilation of these versatile ways to upcycle men's shirts, can't wait to make some of these great pieces. Angelina, you are such an inspiration. Sending you hugs and kisses on this memorable day.
I can't wait for the new season of Next Top Upcycler! Of all the amazing upcycles in this video, my favorite is the plaid maxi skirt. The pockets/ties idea is ingenious.
You really are an inspiration; your so gifted in what you do; I keep on at my husband to give me his shirts lol! I want to try some of your creations; but I can’t go to wild; I’m 62 and my grandkids would be mortified lol; keep up your good work! Sending you love from across the pond!xx
My favorites were 15, 11 and 3. Idk how to sew, but for number 1, I think I'd add maybe some denim down the sides and add a denim ruffle around the bottom. Or maybe some tartan fabric?? With the tartan fabric, on the sides, you could have it flare out kind of like a skirt underneath would. Or cut panels that were the same size from a blazer, the part that has pockets, and use that to add pockets to it. It certainly got my creative juices flowing, though, that's for sure.
My thick middle makes crop tops a no go, but they look great on you. I want to do some stuff with dress shirts and blazers now. Love your presentation style, too 😅😅
Every time I see that plaid skirt I get chills. I haven't done it yet but it's coming. I'm working in a certain colour group and I won't pay more than 5€ per shirt lol.
You have so many great ideas!! I love the blazer with the plaid fabric peekaboo and side frills!! All your ideas look expensive too not hand made! I’m looking at how I can lengthen a TShirt and make it cuter.. I think I’m going to use this idea
Listen she is so good at what she does and yes all were my top thirty maybe except for one or too but girl your channel is fire because you got the videos with the links and we all know the thrift stores always have multiples. And Men's shirts are the bomb thank you so much because if your not a size two this gives us so much room to have custom pieces.
I totally love your spirit and your creativity. I watched your 2020 upcycle and I was so, inspired I began upcycling everything in my closet and from my local Goodwill. Thank you for being Bold and fearless with your style!
Hi, new subscriber here. These video's are so much fun, i think I'll be binge watching. Another great idea I saw was a hoodie on top and a men’s shirt on the bottom… cut just above the bust. Very simple, very cool 💡😊👍🏼⭐️
