Mine failed after 1.5 years. It wouldn't shut off. I replaced it with a rescue but saved it in case the rescue goes out. At least I will have air as I am in So. Florida. I also put louvered panels in the A/C closet doors to help with static pressure.
Yea I’ve seen them fail like that also. Rare, but does happen. Good idea with the louvered door.

I have a dehumidifier running 24/7 all summer otherwise the air handler sweats and you can feel the dampness. Makes a huge difference. Probably keeps the handler from rusting too.

You could have just changed the module. The motor was most likely fine. I have done this many times.
They didn’t offer just the mod. Most manufacturers don’t even offer just the mod any more. Haven’t for years. Wish they did.
@@JeffsHVACAdventures True. I have found them on ebay and as old stock at some supply houses. However, when you don't have time to mess around with sourcing the correct module, your way is best and especially because you can guaranty the entire part.
You could rebuild the module too.
If you can get the parts and know how.
