At the start of ac season, test your capacitor and clean the condenser coil. You may never need to call for service if you do that every year.

That's a pretty big mistake! Careless installers - but also Carrier should block that overflow port from the factory.

These things are Junk! I have had fist set high side leak internally. Elitech replace unit. I bought a second set so I wasn’t without gauges. 2 weeks later these leak exactly the same. Now I’m using the replacement set from the first leak and now those are leaking. 3 sets all leak in the same spot internally. All within 2 months

@JeffsHVACAdventures I was using standard 3m merv 5 pleated filters on the A-coil(he said the evaporator coil was getting the cardboard/filter pleats that the filters are made of wet makeing more restrictoed air) And merv 1 on return door= merv 6... The air purifier is in the kitchen.😂😂 The company that installed the unit put a 5 ton A-coil evaporator with a 3.5 piston in A-coil then put a 3.5 ton condenser outside. The air intake is a 20 in x 30 in with blower (4 speed up to 4 ton HP/AC, 2.9 FLA, 1/3 horse power@ high speed 1460

Is this an air handling unit with fresh air? In my country i never seen ahu works on R410? It’s either split system or big ahu

I also leave in a mobile home so just asking What other type of filters can you put on the A-coil evaporator or is it just those metal mesh air filters. I have a big hipa air purifier next to the furnace so that should keep dirt down. I was using those 3m merv 5 pleated air filters for a month but my unit started to freeze up so my tech said probably just use those mesh metal filters Thanks

Mine failed after 1.5 years. It wouldn't shut off. I replaced it with a rescue but saved it in case the rescue goes out. At least I will have air as I am in So. Florida. I also put louvered panels in the A/C closet doors to help with static pressure.

I would disconnect the utility companies monitoring device. I had a similar device cause a short circuit in the low voltage circuit and blow my transformer. You might want to add a low voltage fuse on the unit. I would bet this is the cause of the problem you're experiencing.

Cap graveyard. At least they were simple calls and not those calls that have you head scratching I’ve had a tough summer as well nonstop calls working 60 hours a week. This is kind of the reason I stocked turbos because they give you universal tabs and I’ll stock the common sizes as well. Keep them coming.

Why not put in a safety instead of a plug? If the primary plugs again, then it will just overflow the pan and you will be back in the same situation.

Be careful bashing your installers. It looks to me like poor planning on the one sold the job. Cabinet size is too big for the space, return air coming up from floor below preventing emergency pan with out major design changes. As tech’s, salespeople we have the ability to speak with the customer, come up with a solution that fits their budget and schedule time to get it done. Installers are depending on us to do our part. They don’t have those luxuries. They have to take what we give them and make it work. With limited resources, training, time, and materials. Instead of putting them in a tough position and then bashing them about how it should have been done let’s make sure we are setting them up for success

Guys …. If you watched the Bosch Utube service videos … they would show you that the release screw would be the easiest way to release the bad board from the aluminum heat exchanger… My next question would be WHY did the good board become a BAD board.. did you ohm out the compressor, the fan motor, the PT??? Also I would have order the EAssembly part that is the corner metal part … w/ board already installed ….. Bosch does NOT have any recommendations on surge protection…. Thanks Fred C

My mom has a really small house and the HVAC company installed a system way to big. 1.5 ton would be perfect she's got to have at least a 2.5 ton. They under charged it so it runs longer. Suction line is never cold, only barely cool.

Mine looks like that after only 12-13months. Do you know what could cause that??

I've got a Bryant 4 ton aluminum evaporator coil from 1978, sitting right above an electric resistance heating coil. Still no leaks! The entire interior unit is original except for the fan motor which I only changed because the bearings were noisy from wear. I got in a new Chinese ball bearing 240 volt, 4 speed motor for $100. I only used the 2 lowest speeds. A new capacitor too.

Wow, 3 or 4 years old and leaking! I guess they don’t make stuff like they used to.☹️
