I've been trying for hours to start my van . With your video I had it running within a few minutes. The sensor was soaking wet with brake fluid and I only had to spray it with brake cleaner and it was working. Thanks

Had several days of intermittent misfiring followed by days of engine management lights and about five different faults reported by Diagbox. However Diagbox did not report a crankshaft senor fault. Local mechanic plugged in his generic scanner and the only fault was the crankshaft sensor. So he replaced it two days ago and all seems well at last. (fingers crossed)
I'm puzzled why Diagbox did not identify this fault.

We have a miss on our pug 307 1.6hdi engine which i know each engines have little discrepancys between all the models. Its a 57 plate 1.6hdi 307 and has had a miss for yrs but it would be one quick one and it was gone and didnt happen for ages in between it happening but now its doing it alot more, plus today the car wouldnt start twice which its never failed to do in 6 yrs. It dont get used much apart from it getting a good run to blow the shit out of the turbo. I have a computer which like they use in the garage, its got obd2 part but it can reprogram injector coding, oil reset, dpe regeneration and reset, doors you name it it will check the system. A injector one popped up awhile ago but was reset with our m8s obd2 and he reset the code so the light went off. It can read each injector while the cars running so could it tell in theres one under performing ? Plus where the injectors are theres like water with some black shit around it. I was told in one of the videos that if that happens its from the copper seal or ring at the bottom of the injector which can also blow the turbo. Much help or information woukd be really grateful to say the least.

I have a 2007 van version of this motor, and I have a similar problem especially at low revs. The engine runs fine for days on end then it suddenly cuts out. Its very annoying as it tends to cut out at the worst possible time after taking off from junctions ect which means I have to endure the wrath of other motorist when stalling the middle of roundabouts!😡 After a cut out the engine fires up right away. I don't have any problems at cruising speed apart from a occasional brief misfire.
The engine runs fine between stalls and starts normally in the mornings.
Ill order my sensor today and make it my weekend project.

Doesn't seem to just pull out the belt wheel seems to be causing an obstruction.

Is there a gap in the wheel that needs to aligned for removal ?

Hi , i have the same car with same engine , sometimes when i put it neutral for slow for lights or something else rpm idle goes below idle and makes sounds about to stall and vibration , but it doesnt stall . It doesnt make it everytime , sometimes but it happens especially in till get hot when temp is cold . Our mechanic said if it doesnt stall it doesnt big deal and it maybe idle sensor said . Do you have any idea or suggest ? Thanks .

I have the same engine on a Ford focus 1.6 tdci and when cold start the engine its like it misfires , i put new injectores on it and still the same problem, black smoke desapears after i changed the injectores but on cold start it still wiggles and misfires, is this the crackshaft sensor too?

    • @stefanm67

I honestly don't know but for the cost of the new unit, and the short time it takes to fit it, it has got to be worth eliminating. Let me know how you get on.
