i love whip fishing.. especially 5m to hand on rivers but.... i was on a bleak peg in a match once... and after 1 hour of windmilling bleak.. i just thought i Cannot do this for 5 hours.. and just checked a feeder out...... but good on ya .. .. .. all part of the fun of fishing
All the whips I use are carbon with solid flick tips, the slimmest are the Wilsmore Queen range, the others are all very similar. I carry a dozen whips from 1.5 to 4.5 metres. Sensas, Milo, Colmic, Preston all have excellent short whips in their ranges, look for a stiff responsive action look to pay between £40 and £100, I don't have any particular brand loyalty I use what I think are the best choices, my whips have been collected up over a few years. Can never have too many all are made up ready with rig attached, the winder banded against the whip handles.
Excellent instructional video Steve, as yes, R.I.P Steve Pierrepont ❤
Great demonstration Steve, liked the hook choice and treading the maggot up the hook
Great video. Like the tag on the hook knot. I wish someone would make a video about bleak fishing on the Thames as it is very different….
Another great informative video Steve, cheers.

Top Video Thanks for making it.
That's quite a collection of brands / whips - from Preston / Sensas / Daiwa. Can you tell us which specific ones you use and why, please?

@@SteveMaher-ft5xx Thanks
Great video, very informative. Does anyone know what brand and model the T1 hooks are that are shown in the hooklength box?
Haven't seen bleak for years(Thames Valley) if we'd had a bad day we use dap for the last 30 mins at dusk, cormorants ate them.😢
If they grew to 5 lb you'd never catch em 😮
What depth do you fish at
Shallow 18 inches ish
