  • After winning the Wye Champs last week with a huge weight of bleak going 52lb 5oz, we caught up with Hadrian Whittle the day after to find out exactly how he put his match-winning weight of bleak together.
⚠️ Word of warning: Do not blink as you may miss it, he's that quick!

This is seriously impressive. It my well be a simple method and feeding pattern but to concentrate for the duration of a match catching this amount of bleak is amazing well done top angling 👍

7 plus fish a minute for over 4 hours is spectacular! Your line to hand skills are unbelievable. Awsome to see such big match wins on small fish. Really shows the importance to being able to adapt to all conitions being a natural match angler! Thank you top notch angling hadrian!

Thanks Hadrian, really enjoyed the vid, will get back out with the whip and have a go.
Took me back to the Trent in the 80's,
WE Used to use a matchstick as a float, count and strike after 3
We waded and put a long bib on that went into the keepnet, the fish unhooked themselves as you swung them in and would slide down the bib and into the net
Very rarely had to unhook them!
    🖒🖒🖒

Spare a thought and a prayer for jimmy randall who died this year 14/6/22 the greatest bleak fisherman i have ever watched using a 21ft bamboo pole decimated matches on the river lea with regular catches of. 20lb + of 25 to the pound bleak now these poles weighed maybe 5kg more when wet not like the ultra light whips and poles used today

We have no idea how he keeps count like this, but Hadrian manages to keep count in his head.

Would you consider using a fake maggot? This will surely save time baiting up.

Plastic baits are not allowed in matches.
