@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE Not quite. Think of the music market; the quality is often lower views and likes. Mass appeal stuff is 50 million views etc. The market for quality is small in anything. Life is Vibes, like at Laughing Waters. Your videos do well because they're great and real, authentic. Not saying to block out attractive women in bathing suits, but only include them not for views but if it's organic and right within the context of your video. E.g., Mayfield Falls. I love that place, love your video and oh, you happen to be swimming with your husband, nice, and then there's a few young women in some quick, tasteful, edited shots, worked in correctly. That's what's real, so you know it already and you're living it.

Jennifer did you know that the word Xamayca was not from the Arawaks/Tainos as we were taught. It was the slaves from Ghana named it that. It means "we are not going back" I recently learned that from studying about the slaves, Nigerians and Ghanaians whom most Jamaicans descended from. That word is in their language and it's meaning.

Another STUNNING and INFORMATIVE video! Irina, you are a gift to Jamaica and I/we thank you. I've learnt so much about my island home, I currently reside in the US, and when I visit I will be able to make better choices and decisions to what tours, attractions and excursions to partake in!

Love this place. I only got to see.part of it because we stopped in one spot for most of it whilst we had a cook out. But when I return I will do the full walking tour.
Love your videos. Watch them when I go visit my mum. She loves you. 😃

You know what I just realized about Irina? She interacts with the locals and she sometimes tries to patronize (the good patronize- not the condescending patronize lol) the venders whom she interviews or interacts with. Other RUclipsrs in Jamaica who were not born in Jamaica (even some who were born in Jamaica)- names shall not be called- have never given back, even when they use the people/places to make their videos. In fact, some of them don't even interact with the locals/try to engage them. You can sense that they treat/see them as lesser than! Some of their RUclips channels have become shows that show how ostentatiously and lavishly they live. And, no, I don't envy them as I earn U.S. dollars and am my own boss. I just don't want to see videos of how many cars, houses, clothes, shoes, etc. you can buy. I don't care! I like humility, especially when you started from scratch. Thanks, Irina for being down to earth.

Thank you so much for all the support! I think the main reason why some other vloggers would focus on themselves and ignore others is because their youtube channel is a personal vlog about themselves, not about Jamaica. They are the stars there and they like to keep it that way. Nothing is wrong with that, just a style of RUclips videos. However, in the case of "Jamaica with irie" channel - the goal is to showcase Jamaica, not me personally. Even though I still have to make vlogs personable and include personal stuff from time to time to make sure videos aren't "too official and boring", but the focus is still not on me, but on Jamaica, Jamaicans and all things Jamaican. Even the name of my channel is not my personal name, while most vloggers would use their own name for RUclips. Hence, this channel might look and feel very different from personal vlogs most people create.

@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE , I get that. I also know that people vlog about themselves. My concern, however, is when the vloggers quite clearly show an air of condescension/assume an air of superiority when they "interact" with the locals, or pass through the locals' communities. There are also vloggers who quite literally make money "interacting" with the locals, going into their communities and using the locals and their communities as content for their videos, but never support the people or the businesses in their communities.

Tourist have been visiting the blue hole since 88-89
It all started with the cruise ship members/workers they didn't want to go to dunns river falls because it was too crowded
And they will bring a friend every time they visit the rest is history from there
