You do realise it is significant to frame those people as being rich instead of them being described as white, right? Even those rich black people have affiliations, allegiances, connections, contracts and are servants of white power. They'll use words like "the elites", "the powerful" and even "THE man" but those people always look like members of white society. I beg black people to actually not be manipulated to disregard truths white people CAN NOT accept. You are NOT white. Take the information regarding the passport, but it is NOT just the rich who have plunged Black nations into their condition, it is maintained by the mindful efforts of more than rich people....its simply that the rich just receive more from those efforts than the people themselves.

This policy is nonsense. The same thing with marijuana. Jamaica should have legalized it decades ago. Jamaica would have been one of the wealthiest countries on earth. But, what did they do? They waited until other countries legalizing it. Then Jamaica began to run behind other countries. That's BS. It doesn't matter what your research says. The fact is, Jamaica is one of the poorest countries in the world. That's in itself tells you that the Jamaica policy is BS.
Great content, so appreciative. I have always known the power of the Jamaican passport, that’s why 30plus years in the US, I still hold on to mine!! 🇯🇲🙏
@@darkfeminineconsciousness Jamaica knows allowing dual citizenship is critical. Most people want to work for the high wages paid by US employers and send the money back to Jamaica instead of raising the funds to start a business in the Caribbean. If they work for the government in the US for 20-25 years at age 55 they qualify for retirement income, their US coworkers will be jealous that someone can go live in Jamaica without restriction. Prehaps the money they were send to Jamaica has set up real estate and a business to guide Americans through the visa process, finding a doctor and other long term needs. If King Charles doesn't want Jamaica to go their own way, something will be done that will make it easier Canada, UK and Jamaica investments.

What you talked about in this video is the exact reason why I consider my Brazilian passport one of the most powerful in the world. It gives me the right to live and work in 9 other countries in South America and special privileges in Portugal (Equality Statute between Brazil and Portugal), in addition to visa-free access to the whole of Europe including UK and Russia + a number of interesting countries.
This is similar to the Chilean passport, which my ex-wife and her daughter have. They have no need for a passport in most of South America, and just a national ID is necessary to travel. The problem is actually getting the passport, which can be a pain in the behind.

Small but important distinction. A visa or visa exempt passport does not inherently allow one to enter a country. It only allows one to board a vessel destined for that country. Entry to the country may still be refused once the person has arrived in that country.

Wow Irie you done it again. This is amazing information. On this score respect to Jamaica on not being 'for sale' in that way. I have observerd over several years with my frequent trips to Jamaica the amount of foreigners that have chosen to come, live and work here despite all the negativity Jamaica gets . They see something here that many Jamaicans living abroad don't and many foreigners that queue up at passport office in Jamaica to get that extension to stay. Despite all the hassle and cost they do it and we take this for granted. Thank you once again Irene.

Same thoughts came to mind!
I started traveling at 18 and I traveled within the Caribbean because I didn't have a visa. The tickets were cheaper and it felt close to home so I wasn't overwhelmed. Best part I kept meeting other jamaicas 🇯🇲so it gave me a little confidence boost to not be too cautious. And have fun.
Lol cheaper? I paid 1000 dollars to go to a virgin island when I went to the US for 300

You came and fell in love with Jamaica it's people and the culture. You are so knowledgeable about the Island and we can see your passion for Jamaica. You are no longer a foreigner you are an honorable Jamaican it's a shame your country does not allow dual citizenship it must be a tough choice if you have to renounce your country's citizenship in order to get Jamaican citizenship hopefully you can have dual citizenship in the future....I am proud of my country and people for welcoming you and your family as Jamaicans representing our motto " out of many one people "
Thank you! 🙏 I'm very lucky to have the opportunity to live in Jamaica.
@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE Welcome to Jamaica!
The power is relative huh. I didn’t even know that I could travel to some Asian countries without a visa until I moved to Japan. Thanks for sharing.
Jamaicans were the first to travel to back to Africa...into Liberia passport free ..etc.etc..,over 100 years now..
To get to Japan, did you need a visa to get there or a transit visa to go through Europe?
@@Introvertsan you need a Japanese visa and either a visitor’s or transit visa from America, the UK or Canada because there are no straight flights from Jamaica to Japan.
@@ONEBIGIRIEFAMILY so once I get the Japanese Visa I would then need to apply for a transit visa, right?
@@Introvertsan after the Japanese visa, you can apply for the visitor’s visa, for the US, I know that the embassy will decide if they want to grant visitor’s or transit.
"The rich know how to use the law to get what they want"....truer words have never been said.
Agree, that is the trick!
Thx so much for this, I am a dual Cdn/US citizen who got trapped in Montego Bay 4 months when Covid19 hit, I am moving to Jamaica in a couple of weeks for at least the 3-6 months allowed by my privilege. #Mooji
I love my jamaican passport...feels good to be a proud citizen of Jamaica 🇯🇲. Thanks Irena as usual for an interesting and informative vlog. Very educational and useful 👌 narration on caricom and the jamaican passport. 👍 enjoyed your vlog.
I love you!! You're so intelligent and so knowledgeable. Thank you so much. I love my passport even more now. 😍😍🇯🇲
Let's hope Jamaica holds steady on this policy.

I would not typically comment on any YT videos but this is one I couldn't pass up.
It is so refreshing to see content like this. The timing of this video is perfect because I have always wanted to travel (my ambition as a young child was to be a pilot). It didn't materialize, but in recent weeks I have been considering travelling the world just because. There was a bit of doubt still and that is because I too had the misconception that a Jamaican passport was not "powerful enough".
Oh, boy was I wrong! I thank you for what you have been doing for Jamaica, land we love!

This is amazing 👍 Brazil is awesome!
This is similar to the Chilean passport, which my ex-wife and her daughter have. They have no need for a passport in most of South America, and just a national ID is necessary to travel. The problem is actually getting the passport, which can be a pain in the behind.
Amazing video, I didn't even know these things as a Jamaican. The government needs to emphasize this in schools.
