That's the part I'm missing as well. I just got my sublimation printer and have a bunch of cotton shirts while I'm waiting for my sublimation shirts to come in and I have all the other stuff I need to do this I just have no clue how to get the htv part. I do have a Cricut as well but I have never really used it so I'm lost.... Lol
White vinyl would work technically, but not good quality. It wouldn't look vibrant & I believe someone told me the image would eventually fade. The other possibility is using white glitter htv. Problem w/ that is most males don't want glitter images & some women don't care for it either
Hi, thanks for the great video. I’m new to sublimation so forgive me if this is a dumb question. Why do you need the clear vinyl. Wouldn’t it sublimate on the white vinyl already?
it's not the camera settings... that was given away by the Cricut ruler... everyone makes mistakes... I've done probably at least 20 shirts and cups backwards ;)
Does the long 50 second president shrink the rest of the vinyl that is under the clear vinyl? Could you just sub the clear vinyl in between parchment paper and then just press it onto the garment?
The vinyl is already tacked together at the point of sublimation so it will be fine. It is possible you could but that would be another supply for the process (parchment paper).
what I'm trying to understand is why you didn't just sublimate on the glitter alone? I'm also hoping the camera is what caused me to see your design backwards?
Yes, it was the camera....I will workn on that. I didn't sub on glitter because some of the shirts were for men and they were not acceptable to glitter on their shirts.
I just subscribed! Loved your design and clear instructions. Does the sublimation hold up with washes? Does it fade or disappear? I look forward to watching more of your videos.
I ordered the clear vinyl and did a test run on a scrap fabric, the sublimation paper gets stock to the vinyl, and the ink looks like it's peeling and not transferring...what Temp do you have yours set at? the shirt looked great BTW Thanks
Where did u ever find clear htv at?? I’ve been looking for it and could never find it cuz I had this idea of subbing on clear and wanted to check it out
Try the A2z heat press by Stahl's.. It's amazing. There's quite a few reviews of it online. Hope you find one that you love. Also, Walla heat press is pretty decent.
@@blendedimpressionz2024 yes I used glitter vinyl on top of regular black vinyl. I hot press the black vinyl and then hot press the glitter vinyl on top
My example was clear on white and only did that because I didn't want the color of the shirt to interfere with my image. Why did you press the glitter on the black?
I had used black vinyl so it would offset with the gold glitter. On my circuit I used the offset feature to cut the shadow using the black vinyle and placed the gold glitter vinyl over it so it would show a black trim/lining. It looked great until after I washed it. Only the gold glitter peel/came off.
If it came off in the wash, maybe you didn't have enough pressure or heat when applying it. Because I still have shirts I did two years ago that are fine. Also watch your vinyl vendors. Not all are good ones.
I’ve been studying and sublimating for a while it WILL NOT Sublimate properly on all white HTV vinyl… the clear and the glitter are the go to options if your not using sublimated blanks to work with
You can only sublimate on white if you are applying it to a see-through object since the ink will only show properly on the *tacky* side of the vinyl. This obviously will not work for shirts unless you are going for a faded/vintage look, which is what the non adhesive side will look like.

Sure! Let me find a design to work with and I'll show how to cut and layer.
Hello. Have you tried the printable htv? It is white, and printable. Could it be used instead of your white htv?
sublimation is permanent, printable HTV will eventually wash out
Is this really sublimation? It doesn’t look like it is absorb into the fabric. Looks like normal heat transfer layer after layer.
It’s is a cotton shirt and she is subbing ON TOP of the clear HTV
Thank you so much for this video💖
Where did you get your press and what size is it?
16x20 Pro World Inc
What is the size of your design?
Why is the design in reverse? Did I miss the explanation?
It is reverse because of how I had my phone when recording.
What temperature did you use? Didn't the higher temperature and time needed for sublimation do anything to the other vinyl?
The temp 350 for 10 sec. And then 360 of 60 seconds for the subbing part.
Sublimation 400 and 60 secs
400 for 60 seconds was too high and I placed the clear htv directly on the shirt 🤦🏾♂️
