Congrats, Dari, on the one-year residency in Turkey! It's stressful to constantly move from place to place. Looking forward to more great content from you.
the video was very rich -never boring- in content and it provided multiple aspects of your experience in İstanbul at the same time to draw a full image of the things. I think it was one of the bests recently.
FOOD IS Still cheap for the USA, But... I know that this type of hyperinflation is a dostroyer of countries. It is most awful for the citizens of Turkey. Wages never catch up. Love all the food! Amazing! The opening shots near the water at magic hour, very beautiful.

Loved your new video, and congratulations on your year extension in Turkey. Just wondering, anything left of old Byzantium in the center of Istanbul besides the churches converted into mosques. Will you do a video on that?
There are some very beautiful cisterns, best known of them Basilica Cistern. Serefiye Cistern is also great. Istanbul Mosaic museum is also from that era, which was a palace. And the Hypodrom area has pillars. Still lots of things that i don't remember.
Another great video, Dari! Like you and Nick mentioned, Istanbul looks like a great city to visit; however, it may not be quite as ideal for those thinking of moving there if they are not fans of large cities. Still, there appears to be many pleasant, less-populated areas to visit within a short travel distance.
Dari, I like history a lot and Istanbul has a lot of history. I'm sure the villages throughout Istanbul must be interesting too. I guess with high fuel charges it may be too expensive to travel there. Interesting video and I'm glad you are doing well and adjusting to your new home.
I have been in Turkey for the last three weeks. When eating out, most of my lunches have been around 5 USD and most dinners around 8-10 USD. Yesterday evening I went to a nice restaurant where the most expensive items were 110 TL (about 6.60 USD). I chose pepper steak and it came on a platter with 3 sides. The only place I have seen 300 TL main courses like your Turkish friend mentioned was in the tourist area around Taksim Square. As an American, I am finding most prices much lower (60-70 % lower) than in the US. Gasoline of course is a little higher. And that huge increase in rent must be difficult because salaries will not rise so much.
Hi Dasha. I love watching your videos. They are beautiful and full of joy. I am glad you have a permission to live in Turkey for a year now. My mum wanted to go there on holiday like she used to. Hey Olga ☀️ I was able to withdraw few times liras from the Tinkoff Mir card (but I was not be able to pay from it in most of the places - succeeded only twice). There are ATMs where you can withdraw money from Mir. Well, at least in Istanbul.

Prices for food is not that expensive. For example a croissant in France costs more than 1$20 while in Turkey you get 2 for the same price. I think if people get a decent salary, it can be ok. The price of rent is too expensive in Istanbul it seems. Then I saw the total price, it confirms my point. In France you would around $38 for that amount of stuff.

My sense of price is that groceries in Istanbul are cheaper than here in Katy, Texas. Officially, inflation here is running at 8.5% but, if you calculate it the way they did back in the year 1980, the current U.S. inflation rate is 17%. Accounting is a very rigorous way to hide the truth. I don't think I would want to live in Istanbul because of the earthquake situation. Istanbul is located on the most active part of the North Anatolian geologic fault. Tension has been migrating from east to west along the fault. Hi Dari. The items you bought at the supermarket are still very cheap if you compare the prices in New York. For those items you bought, I would’ve spent about 30 to 40 dollars in New York. Greetings!!!

I am so glad to see you in this video as you seem a lot more relaxed and happy. Really pleased you have got temporary citizenship in Turkey, brilliant! Glad you are happy to get your 1 year residency. Nice to have a place to stay for a while. I am a small town person. Content for quiet and be alone. I understand your sadness about the Ukraine situation and being treated bad for being Russian. I am a Conservative US citizen and we are attacked and put down by the Democrats that usually just speak, but without facts. I can use facts and site real history. I enjoy conversations with different views when both people understand they may not agree. My family has history in the wars that shaped my country and WWII. Enjoy your time in Turkey and your youth. Keep the videos coming. They are as good as any other I have seen.
Congrats on temp citizenship! Hope you can use the extra time to find a permanent place to live and land a job you enjoy doing! Be patient, persevere, and good things will happen to you 😊 as they are already.
Hey Dari! Firstly thank you for putting me on your video! Thats super cool to see lol. Your friend’s interview from Istanbul was a little shocking to hear with the price differences from the past to the present. It sounds like extremely close to american prices. I heard that Turkey’s inflation has gone extremely high but that interview really did put it in perspective. It is scary that it is happening globally and not just only in one country at a time like how it has happened before in history. One of the things that ive learned from these past few years is that we all need to help each other. We all need to get creative and help each other. Im extremely happy that im able to help you out and hopefully you will get more students that can help you out too. If we are able to all come together we will all make it through this horrible situation together and hopefully we will become smarter and and stronger as a result of this. We are here for ya Dari if you need us. It cant be bad forever, and eventually this will end. Keep the hope we will beat this bad situation and look back on it one day in a better place. Oh by the way lol… ive got about two BBQs for the 4th of July to go to today and tomorrow so my homework is not quite yet done 😜😎 but it will definitely be done and youll be proud for sure! Have fun in Greece, see ya!

Yes congratulations on your approval for a one year stay in Turkey. This means i can continue to live vicariouly through you from the comfort of my favorite lounge chair while enjoying my favorite vanilla frappuccino!! Enjoyed this video especially talking about cost. Hope you continue to enjoy yourself. Im glad you have many good friends aroud you. 😘
Thank you Sally! Happy to show you the world 🙌🏼
Hi Dari. The items you bought at the supermarket are still very cheap if you compare the prices in New York. For those items you bought, I would’ve spent about 30 to 40 dollars in New York. Greetings!!!
I live in the US and I watch Turkish series tv shows dubbed into Spanish language and I love the Turkish cities they show especially the scenes by the sea ❤️. Thank you for showing more detailed parts of the cities. 🙂
Ahaha cool!
Inflation is crazy everywhere I think. Glad you are doing well in Turkiye.
I am so glad to see you in this video as you seem a lot more relaxed and happy. Really pleased you have got temporary citizenship in Turkey, brilliant! Watched your Georgia video and that was great too. Wild coloured nail varnish amazing, take care and stay happy (sorry about the economy but the same here in Shetland). Davex
Thank you David!
Inflation sucks! I live in So Cal and it seems like everyday prices are going up. Istanbul looks a lot different than I thought it would, I like it.
You are always a Delight to watch Dari..... It is very sad that one Man can cause such Chaos in the World..... I hope he goes very soon..... Take care and stay safe Young Lady... You are doing a great job here on YT...... :-))) xx
Thanks ☺️
You are looking very relaxed and at home in Istanbul, it's good to see you are enjoying living there. As for the prices, they are getting close to prices we pay here as well. I really enjoyed this video, you did an excellent job!
Thank you a lot 🤗
Thanks for your comment Daniel :)
На 12:08 , на двери советский плакат " Не болтай!".
Congrats on temp citizenship! Hope you can use the extra time to find a permanent place to live and land a job you enjoy doing!
Be patient, persevere, and good things will happen to you 😊 as they are already.
Thank you so much ☺️
Thank you so much Jeremy for your support 🥰
