Good to see the new generation keeping the Dead Alive!
Transcendent, mystical, trippy, Mikaela's harp is like a sea of color washing over the tune. This band is awesome, seen them 3 times, never heard em do the Dew, this was a sweet treat, thanks Relix🌹✌.
Excellent dead cover sound
yes
Not really a cover... stands alone just fine..
Beautifully said
What a treat. Bonnie Dobson is smiling upon her song being so beautifully sung!
I just recently found out that Bonnie Dobson wrote this amazing song and wow. what a voice she had. Sill has.. I sadly had never heard of her . Mikaela and the boys here truly did it justice.❤
Morning Dew has been one of my favorite songs for a long time, I've seen the Grateful Dead perform it many times , always great, but Mikaela's haunting voice and harp take it to a new level. A real plucking treat. Thanks Mikaela!
One of the premier interpretors of the Deads music. Thanks Mikaela and company for keeping not only the music, but also the soul alive.
Mikaela is a gem
I'm in love with the sound the of these people Nothing left to do but smile
Mikaela and her band are truly terrific in their interpretation of the Dead's music!
It's 5:09 AM and this pops up on RUclips. Gonna be a good day.
Freaking Phenomenal 😎
So this what it sounds like at the gates of heaven. These guys need to tour. This is AWESOME 👌
The harp with the pedal steel is SO sweet!
Very nice! You guys gave Morning Due. A lot of honor, respect, and Heart! Never forget standing in front of Jerry. A New Years Eve show. At the Cow Palace California. You can hear it on the double live album. A incredible Morning Due!
Wow!
Outstanding ! When I turned this one on there was a tremendous crack of thunder and a freak hail, snow and rain storm hit my neighborhood... and I live in So Cal. ..Snow on the lawns the rest of the day...So this is a darn good performance in my opinion...Completely awesome band... Hoping it's not disrespectful to say the Harp Girl Rocks
i’ve rarely heard a guitarist capture so much of Jerry’s essence. Damn good job my friends.
Wonderful Version of a Timeless Classic Song.
Incredible. Mikaela's harp has the lightness of melody fill that Keith did on piano.
What a beauty.... Rendition of Dew is up there as one for the ages.thank you
Bonnie Dobson would be proud! Mikaela is a Treasure!!Happy Days!!
This is a very unique take. On the hunt for a harp player now if anyone knows another one. Listen to her do Bird Song, same channel.
Beautiful. Dark Star is another they do so well. How about doing a GD covers cd?
Wow. Gave me goosebumps the entire song
I can't wait to see her in San Francisco this April!
I found her on the interwebs last year and she blew me away!
What talent!❤️
San Francisco?? Wouldn't it be safer to go to let's say Beirut??
such a treasure to listen to your interpretation...thankyou so much....michele
The staccato steel drum sound she gets there in the interlude is just so tasty.
Beautiful, just beautiful: my favorite Dead song. Thanks.
Beautiful song, they do an awesome version!!!👍✌🦋💜🌻
Mikaela really did this beautifully. This is an interesting band.
Spirit elevating tunes, thanks much💫
I want her, Billy Strings and Oteil on stage together. With whoever they want backing them up.
Phil not oteil
Or the talented baseman here he delivers.
Mr Lesh for me Oteil is ok but Phil is Phenomenal.
James Casey on Sax!
Superb! Her voice is perfect.
Gorgeous rendition!!!!!! 💜🌺
Hauntingly beautiful. Well done!
OMG !THANK YOU
Fantastic!! Loved all the arrangements and you all play very well together. Then there’s the harp which just took it to the next level…Hard to impress me with a Mountain Dew cover but that version did. Safe travels
Great start to my day. Good morning fellow heads!!!
Good morning Brett!
So beautiful and distinctive. I'd wear that dress too.
Thanks Pete, Mikaela and Southern Star! ❤
Holy smokes what a great cover
Wow!
very cool version, thanks!!!
This is phenomenal
I'm in Love!
Very Kool band....blowing my 70 years old mind....love this band.
Please ask them to play some Vanilla Fudge
I need more harp!
Loreena McKennitt, Cecile Corbel. ❣️❣️
Grateful Dead version of this song was a cover from Jeff Beck's first album with Rod Stewart. Don't know who wrote it though.
A walkup so nice you had to play it twice! Bold and perfectly executed. So excited to see you play again in Sacramento in April!
what a f@%king treat this is!
Hoping she makes another appearance with Bobby&Wolf Bros in Syracuse.⚡️
Friends caught her in Utica a couple months ago. The Bobby& Wolf Bros Tiny Desk concert is great!
I like this
This 46 yo deadhead approves 👍
So does this 63 yr old one
Magnificent . Thank you.
It's actually a Rose Dobson song as I assume most of you know.. The Dead covered it as well. So did the Jeff Beck Group and Allman Bros. (Hourglass) among Beautiful version though.
@Dom Rapjak Bonnie DoBson 😊
playing the harp and a million dollar voice,.
Another treat from Mikaila Davis and her band.....covering Grateful Dead's "Morning Dew."
Mikaila should consider getting some music instrument/sound engineering advice about how better to microphone her harp artistry which sometimes gets buried under other electronic instruments in her band.
Ruth Underwood, playing under Frank Zappa band, had the same problem with her large, multioctave xylophone, which ultimately received a state of the art audio microphone system.

great job, Mikaela!
Nicely done....
this is nice.... good job guys
f^&*king great guitar work
Walk Me Out⚡
Amazing cover
very well.........................
☮️❤️🌞🕊️
Vocals are reminiscent of the original, Bonnie Dobson, not the Dead
Well there's a Dead expression in the overall performance, no question. But the Grateful Dead certainly didn't have female lead vocalists, so there's that. Not much harp either. I think it's a very adept synthesis.
I think that “it” would Be Incredable to “Cover Her” with “Good LOVIN’”!!!!!!
This was the only documented song that Jerry cried to on stage.
5-26-72
she needs to sing more 🔥
This song was written by Canadian folk singer, Bonnie Dobson, and the Dead were not the first, or even second artist to record it. A guitarist/singer, Fred Neil reworked the lyrics some
The British singer, Lulu recorded it in 1968. Nazareth did the more driving electric version in the early 70s
A more recent version was recorded by Robert Plant, and Bonnie emerged from retirement to sing it with his group. ruclips.net/video/zZXuuKwhVvI/видео.html
In any event, crediting the Grateful Dead who adapted this song for the first "Human Be-In" in San Francisco gives them more credit for this song than is due.
Don't forget the Allman Joy's version (greg and duane)
You forgot Jeff Beck’s band with rod Stewart on the vocals
Walk me out in the morning Fondue 🫕 💨💨💨 my honey 🍯
😎
So much better than the orig.
I'm stuck.
Technically it is NOT a Grateful Dead cover.....But I'm sure the corporate hipsters at Relix knew that
Starts out real nice, but the harp tends to clash with the guitar and the electronics of the band.. I'd like to hear an acoustic version of this.In certain sections the harp needs to be brought out more a clearer sound is needed. I think banjo would also be interesting to hear with the harp.
I dont care for this. Stop trying to relive tne past. It cant be done. Face it!
I don't hear that at all. I think that Mikaela and the guys blend seamlessly. Everything about this rendition is absolutely lovely.
Ya know?
Great band with her
I truly think this version is the prettiest I’ve heard yet.
