Our MY RWD is three weeks old and in our first week of ownership my wife had to drive it (alone) from the western suburbs of Melbourne to East Gippsland and back -- a round trip of about 800 km. Neither of us had ever charged an EV before but she managed it like a champ, assisted by the incredible Supercharger network which genuinely makes charging easier than filling with petrol. Plug and go, no messing around with apps or pre-payments or anything. We've since had a Tesla wall charger installed (available at Bunnings) which allows us to fully charge it overnight, and being the RWD version it has an LFP battery which wants to be charged to 100%. I honestly can't see us ever going back to an ICE car. We just need more rapid chargers!
Great chat, full respect, as a fellow Model Y owner for about the same time. Yes, there are many ways to EV, but having done Sydney to Brisbane in one day, the Tesla Supercharger Network makes Tesla the best way to EV across Australia. PS. Like the White Seats at the front and the Black at the back Bridie!
getting rid of the lexus SUV which is very high, for the Model y allows the dog easy access to the back. A nice interview; thank you. I have enjoyed those I have seen. I look forward to more.
Can agree with the car being ready before you are. Not long back from a 3300km trip Southern NSW/Victoria and used Superchargers exclusively. So easy these days
Love your work, Model Y for the win, never ever going to drive a ICE car again. Just did the Sydney to Gold Coast trip $55.40. Superchargers all the way.
Yeah the model Y is great for camping in without the fixed parcel shelf. Even taking all the gear for a tent campsite it a struggle in a sedan, I bring a 380W fixed solar panel for the fridge, lights and charging devices. I usually need to unscrew the rear seat backs as they don't fold flat and the parcel shelf is fixed in my car. Goal is to get a Y or something with a hatch. Don't see anything as good as Tesla right now with their plug and play charging network for road trips.
looked at buying a Tesla Y RWD s/hand this week. Awesome car, but my boss knocked it back saying its too flash for us.😢. My only gripe was the full summer sun through the glass. it was scalding hot. Apparently Tesla sell blinds that can be clipped to roof and hatch glass. DEFINITELY NEEDED in South Australia.
White front seats and black rear seats! i am regretting not ordering the white interior, now ill have to find a wrecked one and swap to a white interior for my model 3

Was the variant mentioned or did I miss it? I'm assuming a LR with only 3 stops to Sydney.
Hmmm I think you’re right. I’ll check.
It’s the RWD standard range.
@ Wow. Bridie's a truly economic driver! And thanks for these interviews - good information and great fun.
@@ElectrifyThisIt’s a RWD… the wheels have the black aero wheels
