Speaking of the Alchemist, Hunter’s dialogue after you complete the final task is hilarious. One of my favorite bits from Spyro 2: “Here, take this orb. I was going to give it to the Alchemist...but I’m a bit ANNOYED at him at the moment.”
Plus, my other favorite orb dialogue was in Shady Oasis after rescuing Grundy’s 8 brothers in stone by head bashing:
“Take this thing too...I’m too tired to carry it anymore.”
Probably my favorite Orb Challenge was helping George the Snow Leopard in Crystal Glacier - George was so cute.
My personal favorite Orb Challenge: Trolley challenge in Breeze Harbor. I’ve always loved that one and always have fun with that section whenever I play the game
I hadn’t actually thought about my favorite and least favorite orb challenges at all. When I have time, I’ll let you know. Great list Rebel!

@@ScummyRebel Which dialogue would you consider your favorite after getting an orb?
I was always confused at the Bell Challenge in Cloud Temples - not the challenge with Superfreeze (which I think is cool - no pun intended), but with what the guy says.
One minute he says after the two bells: “I suppose you want an orb for that.” But then tells about one bell left by using the whirlwind to access it.
Then....after that’s done and he thanks you, he instead says, “Here, have a souvenir from the Mystic City Gift Shop.” 🤨
That part always baffled me. Was the orb actually a souvenir from the gift shop? I’m not sure. What did you think of that, Rebel?
I didn’t pay enough attention current playthrough to remember any specifically.. I did say no to Moneybags every chance to hear his dialogue! Those are pretty funny.
As for the Mystic City gift shop line.. in the original they didn’t re-record that dialogue after renaming a couple levels, and Mystic City was the of name Cloud Temples until they changed it to, as it is a brother/sister level to Mystic Marsh! Pretty interesting.

I actually love the hockey challenge. I might be biased cause I’m a huge fan of hockey, but I thought it was pretty fun, although it was very easy. Great list by the way. You deserve way more subs!

Hockey fan too. Though the goaltender is annoying. Get too close when he has the puck and he’ll shoot it away as all goaltenders do.
Great video!! One of the only things that can bug me when replaying is that you can’t just 100% a level and move on, you have to go back to certain ones once you’ve unlocked headbash/climb. Having to redo shady oasis again gets annoying 🤣
Pleasently suprised not to see the trolly mission on here. I love it! Do you remember how hard the hunter challenge in Fracture hills was om ps 1?? To me it was the hardest orb in the entire game, even worse than the alchemist mission!!
My most hated missions
1) Hockey in Colossus
2) alchemist challenge
3) Draclets challenge (crystal glacier
4) The bombo challenge in scorch
5) catching the spark plug thieves in Mystic Marsh!
6) crystal popcorn
Man, I remember some of these being more frustrating than fun, too. The Alchemist run, the crystal popcorn, the trolley, the stolen spark plugs, the 2nd round of dinosaurs in Skelos, the Robotica Farms supercharge challenge, and Hunter's parasailing in Icy Speedway. I think if the camera was a fixed angle in the Crystal Popcorn Challenge it might have made it slightly easier (not any more fun, though).
I just wish the game would have saved your progress after you went through a level the first time. Having to backtrack to a previous level for a spare Orb is fine, but having everything reset in the level just makes things a bit more tedious (especially the Alchemist challenge). I'm guessing it might have been a technical limitation with the PS1 version originally, but I wished Toys For Bob would have added that quality of life option to Reignited.
First off, it's honestly refreshing to see a list talking about the worst orb challenges in this game and have the trolley not appear on it for once; I feel like people complain too much about how hard it is, when it's really not: I actually got it in one try my last time playing the game recently. I'll admit the trolley gave me some trouble my first time playing the game, but once I finished it the first time, I never found myself really struggling with it again, as it's just down to pattern memorization.
Secondly, I personally never had much trouble with the orb in Icy Speedway; I don't know what it is about it, but I haven't ever had as much trouble with it as a lot of other people seem to. The hardest Speedway orb for me is definitely the one in Ocean Speedway, I don't know why the first one is so much more difficult than the other 3 that follow, but I always have some trouble with it. What makes it difficult is that the course you have to fly through is rather convoluted, and some of the turns you have to make to get to the next ring can be hard to make, especially if you're rusty, as I found out the hard way recently.
Lastly, I completely agree that the alchemist challenge in Fracture Hills is the worst one, and is definitely my least favorite part of the level, which I personally like otherwise. But it's because I always remember that you need to do it a second time if you decide to get that orb your first time playing the level is why I always hold off on doing it until I can return with headbash, but mostly, I just find there's no good reason to do it twice if you don't have to
Here is a little hint for elcramist in fracture hills once you get the superflame affter spyro 2 completing 100% you can just flame the rock enimes and then the elcramist will just walking and you can skip 2 part of them
That is true, but the unfortunate part is that you need to have fully completed the game, orbs and all, at least once to unlock it.
So you still have to suffer through it...
What I wouldn't have given to have that super flame ability sooner...

I actually almost rage quitted on Crystal popcorn. Lmao.
Only thing keeping me sane was me telling myself, "focus on the crystals, not Hunter's cheating butt face."
I surprisingly didn't rage quit on the alchemist, probably because I had no idea what I was myself getting into, but I definitely had a moment of "screw this, I'm done."
When I heard you had to do it again with the head bash later, I was like, "Well imma go jump off a cliff now.."
It's actually pretty easy to complete Glimmer all in one go, 'cuz you can actually just jump to the ledge for the second gem lamp challenge from the giant gem on the ground. Discovered this as a kid before I learned about the double jump trick. Kinda makes it less necessary to put a ladder there in the first place, but part of me likes that you have options. Returning players might figure they could make the glide, new players will just come back later. If they just wanted to give you an excuse to return to the first level, it woulda been more fun to add a swimming section instead though.

I hated Agent 0! As a child his music and the noise it makes when he catches you scared me.

Ice crystal challenge is extremelly easy, for me the worst orb is headsmashing stone hippos, you come back to the level for that extremely easy mission

While the alchemist is annoying I was expecting it to be much worse than it was based on what I saw online. I think I completed it on my 2nd try. Was more annoyed having to do it again to do the skullbash.
Well, the alchemist is bad, BUT I had to defeat the ox of Metropolis without taking ANY DAMAGE, for a trophy, and was annoying, frustrating...
Is one of the most annoying trophies to get, is only under that one, where you have to defeat Gulp without taking any damage, and I did it without superflame, cause I'm the only one here who didn't know who could do it with superflame!
