I tried keto. I tried carnivore for a very long time. And I had a health scare. I just think some of us thrive better with the foods we are designed to eat. Some thrive on meat, some thrive on keto. But I'm noticing since eating plant based I feel amazing! Thank you for your content!
I'm going to Walmart and pick up your book, Yahoo, thank you so much for helping God peoples eat healthy,God bless you for opening up my eyes about nuts.
Kiki, you are saving lives! If only everyone would watch your channel, lol! My weight loss path is as follows - I went on a starvation plan through my doctor at Kaiser Permanente that had me consuming processed bars and shakes made by Nestle that totaled 900 calories a day. It was traumatic to starve myself like that. My body dropped 50 pounds in 5 months and half my hair fell out. Once I transitioned back to normal food I gained it all back within a few years, even on a plant based diet. I’m extremely excited to be on the starch solution as I’m traumatized from starving myself and I’m so excited to be able to eat lots of food and lose weight. I’ve been following Kiki’s recipes for a month now and I’ve lost a bunch and feel great. I’ve noticed that added oil makes me sick to my stomach and gives me terrible acid reflux. It’s crazy how much oil is in our food and how much misinformation there is on it out there. Same as eating meat and dairy. Just ditch it and eat this healthy, whole food plant based unprocessed diet and you will feel great.
I would LOVE to hear your thoughts on processed grains while on their weight-loss journey-like a video style like this one. I love how realistic and informative this video was.
I am new to plantiful kiki but i already tried her cheese sauce and loved it. Want to ask my daughters to getvme her cookbook for mothers day. I am 72 and still striving to eat right and live long. Kiki can help.
I love you, Kiki. I’m not a Vegan, but I learned from your videos in your weight loss series that not using oil really help to you on your journey. I use all of your oil, free salad dressings, and they are just wonderful. Thank you so much.
Loved this. I am 57 and I am plant based and intermittently fast and I do my best everyday. I have never felt better in my body. However I don’t want to fear oil. Thank you for explaining this to us and caring enough to be here and help others. Have a blessed Mothers Day Week 🍑🙌🏻🧡Lisa
I just feel so much better when I exclude oil from my diet. My body is finally able to heal itself. The studies behind Endothelial Cell health and understanding it, is what’s helped me realize that oil has no place in a healthy diet. Especially when it comes to cancer and heart disease. But I do love me an avocado and some olives from time to time. Staying with the whole plant version is just hard to beat. The studies that a certain famous Australian plant based celeb tried to show me saying oil was healthy, just didn’t hold up, and unfortunately much was poorly done.
Love that you promote understanding of caloric balance and density. Yes, we want to eat for health. But if we eat TOO much of the higher calorie healthy foods, we still gain weight.
I was amazed to see that the oil sprays have 0 g of fat when spraying for the serving size- 1/4 second! Really helps with those chickpea omelettes! Thank you so much for explaining this concept. I’ve been up and down with my weightloss- I eat mostly wfpbno but I cheat - and when I cheat- it’s vegan meats/cheeses, vegan pizza, etc. it’s the oil! And I’m still really overweight - I’ve gotta get back on the ball- I started swimming and your recipes definitely help! 😄
I've been doing the same. I personally eat WFPB oil free for breakfast and lunch. Then have a cheat at night. And usually my calories were so low from breakfast and lunch I still lose weight.
Love your channel. Have been watching for years! Oh how I wish my husband would eat with me like this. Makes it hard to have to make 2 different meals!
I make the same thing for my family that I make for myself and those that wish, add their animal protein to it. Just bake a whole chicken every week and have it available at dinnertime
Thank you for explaining it's about the calories. A lot of people don't seem to understand that. I cringe when I hear people talk about carbs being bad. Simple carbs like cake and donuts aren't healthy but we don't need to throw out the entire category. For me, I count calories because then I know exactly where I'm at. Personally, I don't want to consume half a plate of vegetables. Yes, a couple of servings for health (that's half a cup of vegetables or 1 cup of leafy greens per serving) with dinner and a salad for lunch. So I try to eat healthy for those calories but if I'm having an off day and don't feel like eating vegetables, if I stay within my calorie goals, I will still lose weight. I'm 66 and set my calories at 1500 and it works for me.
Thank you Kiki. I have just ordered your book as a birthday treat for myself. I live in the UK so have to wait 2 weeks. I have been watching you now for some time and you inspire me along with the Broccoli Mum (another lovely soul). Roll on the 25th x
I just bought your newest book & have already made 2 recipes 😊. I've been following you just about from your beginning when you had to have ketchup & a wide variety of hot sauces! You've been such an inspiration & so much fun to follow! Just wanted to say, keep up the great work & Thank You! So very much!!
I bought your book over the weekend at Barnes N Noble. I love all the pictures in the book. I am a visual person and appreciate all the pictures. I've been following you for years and have made some of the recipes. My husband loves the ranch dressing, cheese sauce and he is not vegan. He appreciates no soybean oil is dressings and sauces. Thank you
Recently I purchased your new book. Thank you for all the easy, fast and delicious recipes. It changed my daily routine of cooking. Regarding dressing, I love the Southwest Ranch!
Thank you! This message is timely for me. I've been growing in my plant based journey little by little, and my next step is cutting back the oils/fats. I knew that going all in from the beginning would not be sustainable for me long term, so I have been making changes a little at a time. This is the encouragement I need for this next step :D
I have been following you for the past 3 years. I have all your books. Watching you grow is encouraging and motivating. Now is my time, I'm down 10 pounds! The ranch and cheese sauce is the BEST!
I am really frustrated with all of the different eating advice for weightloss that I am getting. I honestly just think everyone is different; either that or my thyroid is outta whack. Salad is not working, carnivore stopped working, low carb high fat (I think it’s working but my face is super puffy) and now I’m hearing even healthy fats aren’t keeping you lean their making you fat. Nuts & seeds are supposedly healing for the thyroid now I’m hearing that they cause weight gain. Never tried incorporating fruit because everyone says all sugar is bad. Dairy is bad because it causes mucus, seafood is bad but I thought we needed selenium? Salt is bad but then how do I get my iodine? Carbs and starchy vegetables are supposed to be no no’s and they cause inflammation. I have no idea what I am supposed to eat! At this point I think I’m just going to stick to water; warm, hot, and frozen versions of it. I even heard that water isn’t good to consume either because it’s full of toxins & chemicals.
For me, I am 55 years old and menopause has come and gone. Everything that I eat such as ANY oil or nuts are not helping my metabolism. I am morbidly obese so I NEED to watch what I put into my mouth. Years of eating the "free" tortilla chips at Mexican restaurants have taken its toll. I am NOT active due to my back injury so for me it is NO oil. If you are in weight "maintenance" and don't have weight to lose then maybe eating oil isn't a problem. But for me it is.
I Just bought mine from Amazon with a 22% discount for hard copy!! Couldn't find it at Walmart here in Syracuse New York....I'm super excited! Thanks for all you do❤
Your videos help me stay compliant, you explain things in a very real and factually correct way, thank you for sharing all that knowledge you've acquired!
I love your cookbook! I bought it on Amazon when it became available. I still use your blog because in the fall I adore your stuffed acorn squash recipe with apples and craisin.
This was really helpful. I really got in my head about the fat!!! There's so much fear based talk about oil and I got afraid of nuts and cooking spray. But a middle ground is fine for me because I'm healthy, just overweight. All my stats are perfect. Thank you for showing me how to enjoy the journey.
I definitely lose weight and keep the weight off when I completely cut out oil. I still eat a small amount of cashews and tahini, that I make hummus with, but that’s all. As soon as I start cooking with oil again the weight piles on.
Just picked up your new book! Great purchase!!! I will be reading it cover to cover this weekend! Happy Mother's Day to me ;) Thanks for sharing all you have !!!❤🎉
Grrrrrrrreat video Kiki!!! I'm new to this high-carb, low-fat way of eating, but so far so good. I started on your meal plan from your new book on Monday, May 1, and am loving all the recipes! The nachos... omfngeeeeeeeee, I can't even, they're sooooo good!!! I've always been a calorie/macro counter and would lose weight but always put it back on. I'm turning 50 in a couple weeks and just have absolutely zero desire to count them anymore! I'm hoping this lifestyle will be it for me. I'm an athlete and have been vegetarian/vegan for 12 years this August and have always been worried about getting enough protein to build muscle, so this is a whole new lifestyle for me!!! Now, with all that out of the way, I have a question for you or anyone else who can offer suggestions: My husband and I are out a lot in the summer on our motorcycles, which means eating out. I will be bringing small jars of your ranch dressing and cheese sauce, but any suggestions on what to order besides a garden salad??? Thanks to anyone who answers in advance!!! 🙂 P.s. and thank you so much Kiki for being a "sauce junkie"! Lol because so am I, I NEED sauce on everything!!! ;-)
you are doing fantastic!!! im so glad you found me! so I would order a baked potato if they have it and ask for ketchup or bring any sauce I want with me. you can also ask for a sandwhich with hummus and veggies or avocado and veggies, if they have pizza just order a pizza with veggies and no cheese:)
It would be so awesome if you came out with a fat free or majorly reduced oils frozen foods line. I struggle many days not being able to stand and cook. Or if you came out with your cheese sauce and dressings !! 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻 There is a market need for these healthy foods 😊 Great chat ❤
Would it be possible to hire someone for 3-4 Hrs a week to prep cook for you and maybe to shop for you? My old Friend used to cater her talent to People who weren't able to cook anymore. I used to be a Home Healthcare provider and did the same. Good Luck on your Journey.
Walmart is sold out of your book. There was one left at Barnes and Noble. They’re going to save it for me and I will give it to my daughter who is a big oil user and struggles with weight.
Can you do a video on how you can plan your meals to ensure you’re getting all the nutrients needed? I love meal planning but overwhelmed with making sure I get what I need.
I'm like you! I cannot live without avocado! and I'm slim! I add avocado to salads sandwiches, dressings! the only thing that makes me put weight on is snacking on processed sugary things between meals! so I snack on fruits!!
Thank you Kiki, I have learned SO much from you on my journey. I am actually eating my veggies with 'your' cheese sauce while I type this 😋. With regard to oils, I do agree with you that they add unnecessary calories. However, when I cut out oils altogether it didn't work for me. My HDL is low, so along with exercise I do consume a very high quality olive oil which I do NOT cook with. I pour a little over my food right before consumption. Also, when I cut out all oils I was not able to fully...ehem...function so to speak.💩 Yes, constipation set in. Also I noticed my nails became very flaky, cracked and split. So while I agree with most of what you talk about, I do believe there are some benefits to olive oil, even while losing weight. The key is a high quality and quantity management. And of course, avocados and nuts are a healthy fat in moderation. Congrats on your book deal, it has been wonderful watching your journey from several years ago, your move to Fl and back to Colorado and now you becoming a big-time cook book author. It couldnt happen to a nicer person!
This was so helpful Kiki! I never knew that the fat we eat stores into our fat cells, maybe that’s my ignorance or I just forgot but thank you for this explanation. 😅❤
I just orderd your book, I am so happy I will get it tomorrow 🎉 (was not sure I could get it here in Sweden) love your videos becouse you are such an inspiration, and I feel you are such a nice, friendly and beautiful person. All my best! ❤
Wonderful video. Loves ya kiki. Your amazing and you just keep getting better and better!!! Have all your books and will be ordering your new one!! 💕💕💕💕👍🏼🎉keep up all the great work!!! So happy for you!!
I remember you saying you read “The Starch Solution” and how much you were praising Dr. McDougall. I’m learning as the years go by. I think the oil topic changes every couple of years- like Soy products. My oncologist tells me no Soy at all every year. It gets to be confusing for me. Also no estrogen at all ugh 😣 I need to get your new cookbook ❤ I’m definitely not counting calories 😊
Hi there, Thanks for the information, I just came across your channel. You mention that you eat high carb, can you share the macros your referring to please in terms of % carbs, fat, protein?
I love your recipe videos but even more so I appreciate this type of video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and CONGRATULATIONS on all your success with your new book!! What type of book do you have coming out next? I believe you said in the fall? Or was I mistaken? ❤
I appreciate you including the calorie counts. Some of the early WFPB recipe books have 600, 700, 800+ calories and it’s kind of gaslighting to tell people they absolutely don’t need to count calories. To all WFPB book authors, be upfront with the calories. No wonder I had trouble losing weight. It wasn’t lack of willpower. So anyways there’s my rant and I appreciate Kiki’s approach to this issue.
Gaslighting is an abuse tactic used to make the victim believe they have actually gone crazy and can’t trust their own mind… it doesn’t mean “downplaying” something related to diets…
As someone in the sciences, I think it would benefit many people to have a more in depth knowledge of the macro nutrients past what we hear thrown around (such as fat having the most calories and carbs being fuel etc). Fat isn’t just calories, it makes up your cell’s membrane. Healthy monounsaturated fats help keep the cell fluid and aid with hormone regulation (certain hormones are lipid soluable). Our brain uses fat all the time for insulation and protection. Point is, every macronutrient is important! Oil may be more processed and should be limited, but you do not need to fear it, because unnecessary stress is just as bad if not more than consuming too much oil.
Am I missing something? How is the ranch dressing "low-fat" when it's primarily cashews? The ranch dressing on the website says 2g of fat per 1 TBSP. That's a lot of fat for 1 Tbsp volume of food, isn't it?
Hi Kiki, this video was so clear and helpful. I have just ordered your Plantifully Lean book. In your plate building method, do you make sure you are including protein sources? Other Health influencers focus so much on tracking protein and a lot of them also suggests taking protein supplements. I would really like to know your thoughts. Thanks!
Kiki? I bought ur latest book before it came out and its absolutely wonderful! I love it! U did a great job! Im looking for that smashed potato recipe where u put the spices on the fries and then put them in a container and shake it up. Where is that? By the way, I made the cheese sauce and its soooo delicious! It only lasted me 3 days lol.
Kiki, I use a stainless steel pan to cook with, which of course involves oil. I've been leery of pans that are non stick because of the health hazard from some. Do you have a recommendation for a healthy non stick, good quality pan? Thanks so much!!
Any ideas on food replacement where someone is craving fat?? I don't crave sugary or fried food. I DO crave butter or full fat cheeses. Anything that I could do to break those cravings
I've been quietly watching for approximately 2yrs. Thank you Kiki. You've grown into an amazing teacher 😊

I tried the half potato and veggie plates and lost 5 pounds in 5 days, I added a teaspoon of olive oil to each meal
Buying your book tomorrow ❤
Bought your new cookbook, love it! Thank You!
I am LOVING your new cookbook!!!
Picked up my copy this past weekend and excited to dive in.❤
I remember you saying you read “The Starch Solution” and how much you were praising Dr. McDougall. I’m learning as the years go by. I think the oil topic changes every couple of years- like Soy products. My oncologist tells me no Soy at all every year. It gets to be confusing for me. Also no estrogen at all ugh 😣
I need to get your new cookbook ❤ I’m definitely not counting calories 😊
Thanks for refreshing my mind on things. You are so helpful and inspiring.
Thank you for the talk. I really needed that. I’d like to hear your thoughts to on having a glass of wine.
I’ve got my copy!!
Omg your hair looks so good!!!! Super healthy!!
Preach, girl!
Hi there,
Thanks for the information, I just came across your channel. You mention that you eat high carb, can you share the macros your referring to please in terms of % carbs, fat, protein?
Loved loved loved this video. ❤
I have your awesome book, and about to make the caesar dressing right now! 😂
yay! enjoy!!
I love your recipe videos but even more so I appreciate this type of video! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and CONGRATULATIONS on all your success with your new book!!
What type of book do you have coming out next? I believe you said in the fall? Or was I mistaken? ❤
Thank you, Kiki, the information you provided was really helpful to know.👍 😊❤
youre so welcome!
Thank-you for your great advice.❤
love this. entered the plantaplaooza. sorry spelling. can wait
What quality pan to use without oil
I bought ur book even though i have the other one ❤ love it
Thank you so much for your support!!
Am I missing something? How is the ranch dressing "low-fat" when it's primarily cashews? The ranch dressing on the website says 2g of fat per 1 TBSP. That's a lot of fat for 1 Tbsp volume of food, isn't it?
Yep, cashews are really fattening.
What about breads, did you change anything on them?
Hi Kiki, this video was so clear and helpful. I have just ordered your Plantifully Lean book. In your plate building method, do you make sure you are including protein sources? Other Health influencers focus so much on tracking protein and a lot of them also suggests taking protein supplements. I would really like to know your thoughts. Thanks!
Lol I'm on the stairmaster watching this video!😂😂 I'm wonder about the fat content of the cashews in the dressing Kiki?
I have learned so much from you thank you, you are amazing.
you are so welcome:)
You can swap nuts for hemp? Cool!
What oil do you lightly spray with? Avocado?
Kiki, I use a stainless steel pan to cook with, which of course involves oil. I've been leery of pans that are non stick because of the health hazard from some. Do you have a recommendation for a healthy non stick, good quality pan? Thanks so much!!
L O V E your book 🥰
Best video ever❤
Fit for life old healing book they ate veg starch with oil still lost weight
Any ideas on food replacement where someone is craving fat?? I don't crave sugary or fried food. I DO crave butter or full fat cheeses. Anything that I could do to break those cravings
