@@ChewonVegan thanks, I lost a total of 40 pounds since my highest weight and I'm now at my target. For a few weeks I made it even more extreme with one orange squeezed after getting up, then exercise, afterwards whole oat groats (cooked once a week) with fresh mango or banana, for lunch whole starches & veggies, then stopped eating for the day after lunch. Drank only water.

KIKI you beautiful amazing creature! i was an immediate fan and subscriber from the very beginning, but i was a non-commenter for a while, just watching your vids and loving your style instantly, as EVERY SINGLE PERSON who hears you and sees you does! Kiki, your channel has really been helping me. I am a marathon runner who now struggles with my weight, since I turned 40. I slowly gained about 20 lbs when having my children, and I have lost it a few times through lots of exercise. But at this time in my life, I don't have time to train for a full marathon, and I have continued to carry pounds, even when running half-marathons! I have not been able to shake it off, even with calorie restriction and dedication. The 50/50 plate is absolutely making the difference! I am down 8 lbs, and I couldn't be happier. And cutting out oils and nut Butters has been huge, as well. Thanks for making this channel. It's very inspiring, and I really like your "what I eat in a day" videos. They help me to feel like I can get more creative, since I always got bored with the food before.

I never knew I could steam potatoes in the IP and I’m loving your cheese sauce. I’ve been a vegetarian for a long time but just kept gaining weight. I didn’t know what I was doing wrong and couldn’t lose weight for anything. With bad lab results and female issues, I knew I had to do something. So thankful I found you. Then I had kids and listened to everyone’s “opinions” about how my way of eating wasn’t fair to the baby etc. Well flash forward, I have all the same health problems you talked about in the video. I found you 6 weeks ago and have not faltered again. Even my 8 year old easily transitioned to vegan eating with 0 problems! Your food is practical and wonderful. Kiki, I just wanted to say that I am grateful for your videos! I have been wanting to make the switch to vegan for 6 years now, and I just didn't feel like I could do it. Not everyone in my family is wanting to be vegan with me, so that has been part of my struggle. Anyway, after trying some of your recipes over the last month, I feel excited about all the options that I have! I just felt too limited before, and your ideas and recipes and worldview have really helped me! So thank you!
OH, and your cheese sauce!!! AMAZING!!! I have tried another that I was underwhelmed with, yours made me do a happy dance! I served scalloped potatoes with that sauce, next to my family's traditional dutch oven cheesy potatoes with bacon, and everyone that tried mine loved it!

I love you Kiki and love this lifestyle! I wanted to tell you about these sprouting trays we use, I got off Amazon. I got 2 sets so we don't run out and can rotate, because my husband eats them right off the tray, but they are perfect for salads and save you so much $$, a seed packet lasts us for a couple of months and it's about $20, and we eat the sprouts Every Day. You can get broccolli sprout seeds which are a total superfood, off Amazon too. The sprouts take about 4 days to grow, you just add water, the kids love watching them grow. It's called the Kitchen Crop VKP1200 Deluxe Kitchen Seed Sprouter, | 6" Diameter Trays, 1 Oz Alfalfa Included. I just think you would really like them. That's it!

I started this way of eating 6 weeks ago after struggling with gaining weight since going vegan several years ago. I really appreciate how simple you make everything, I am loving your videos, however, I am having trouble - I have large meals, I eat til I am full, but as time goes on, I seem to get hungrier every day. I have been so hungry the last 4 or 5 days I am almost insatiable. I wake up starving even though I had a massive plate of potatoes and salad the night before (and sometimes fruit or cereal after that!). I think I have lost a very small amount of weight, but I am alarmed at how much I am needing to eat. I felt satisfied in the beginning and now I don't - and I am not skimping on meals at all. I think I have lost a tiny bit of fat round my waist (I can't weigh myself as it's too triggering for me) but I am eating much more food this week.

Great video Kiki, I found you about 2 weeks ago and found your videos really interesting. The information on healthy fats in this one is great, I have seen some criticism of McDougal recently about his 'the fat you eat is the fat you wear'. But from watching him, he does say cut out refined oils and just be careful with the amount of nuts and seeds etc. Of course you can overeat if you have a whole bag if mixed nuts, but having some in your diet is very healthy. Great video like i said, 😊

When making your brown rice, add a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar while cooking. It changes it so much.

It just gives it the slightest zing. Still tastes like brown rice, which I enjoy too. But, it makes it better I think. Same with quinoa. ☺️

The bacon seasoning is amazing! I put a little in beans and it reminds me more of "real" potaje de colorados! Thank you for your videos, I am totally binging on them rather than chocolate.

ANOTHER AWESOME VID! I love how you remind us that are bodies are made to heal and to focus on health, happiness, and self love! Just wondering, are you still having the 1oz nuts/seeds (and 1 TBSP ground flax + some avo) as per the advice from the books you showed (Your Body in Balance, Eat to Live, How Not to Die)? With gardening, hiking, and biking, you're SO active, fit, and strong! Thanks for inspiring outdoor activity...it's good for mental health too. Thank you, Kiki :). xo

Kiki, I love your channel and the inspiration. Also following Hannah and a few others. Just wondering why no one mentions Kimchi. Is it considered a processed food? Today for lunch I steamed up a plate of kale and topped it with kimchi (both organic) It was so delicious. Also, is air popped popcorn okay for a snack? Thank you for your videos 😊 Fran

Im a little confused. I thought by preparing food so far in advance would diminish the nutritional content? With precooking potatoes when reheating does this make them even more starchy?

As Dr Gregor always points out, there are numerous population studies that show a very strong correlation between vegetable consumption and BMI. The higher the vegetable consumption of any given population, the lower its average BMI. In many countries it’s normal to eat vegetables at every meal, even breakfast, and a meal would not be considered complete without a good portion of veggies. In France, for instance, it’s normal to eat salad, vegetable soup or crudités as a first course. They might have steak and chips as a second course but the veg course is considered very important.
