Diana did a great job. I’m out of breathe watching her walk everywhere.
I lived in Charleston 50 years ago and just loved it. I would spend hours in the library reading old diaries from the plantations and history in the private letters and journals available there. I learned some new interesting facts and got to see the lovely city through new eyes.
Thanks for sharing this, Sheila! Glad that you learned something new today.
Getting ruined now by rich people building Starbucks
Oh I envy you!! 📚
Outstanding tour with historic details. Very interesting and enjoyable to watch.
Too crowed now, they’re killing everything that’s historical building new car garages and other big buildings downtown all the time.
My daughter just moved there so I’ll be visiting often! Loved my time there this past week. Thanks for this video!

Outstanding job, Diana!! I have visited Charleston numerous times and visited many of the historic homes and sites you described, and I learned a lot. Not only was it informational, but your style and anecdotes were entertaining, and your pride in beautiful Charleston was very evident. I am having my body cremated at death, and the ashes spread at White Point Fardens so I can permanently reside on my favorite place - forever Charleston! Have been to all 50 states, and no place in America captures my heart like Charleston! Thank you! I did not see the link to send a tip. Please let me know, as it is well-deserved - as good a tour as any I have seen for any city!
This Lady is very good at what she does she ❤Loves her job Bless
Absolutely fascinating….literally like going back in time with you. I’m from the Pacific Northwest and so I don’t know much about your area until now…thank you.
I am also from the Pacific Northwest and I lived in Charleston. It’s a beautiful place, the history, architecture are all just stunning. If you ever go and need some ideas let me know if I could help!
Lovely city. Met a friend here, in Houston, who’s from Charleston and the beauty she described is spot on!
Diana does a great job, the most informative video of Charleston. Thanks for the info
We were very impressed. Learned a lot, and felt like we were on the tour with her (just without the ocean air and exercise, that would be real nice)
The pandemic got me cryusing the web for travel tours. This city has so much beauty, and it is extraordinary that it is so well preserved. Thank you for a delightful tour. The knowledgeable discussion on the city;s architecture was exceptional. My mother and Dad spent their first two years of married life in Charleston when he was stationed there, ad she spoe often of irs beauty
We had a Tiffany lamp, and the shade was so glorious. I cannot imagine windows!
Glad we could bring back some memories.
Absolutely blown away with such an incredible tour. Diana, you were amazing. Your knowledge of Charleston is astounding & your love for it is so evident. Thank you for such a wonderful walking tour. I wish i had you as our guide when my gf & I visited a couple of years ago. 1:09:55

Great tour thank you from Edinburgh, Scotland UK. The ‘ largest home in Charleston ‘ that you pointed out “ the Colquhoun mansion”towards 55 mins; was featured in the The North and South mini series in 1986, It was ‘ George Hazards’ family home…..I watched the series avidly from Scotland as a teenager as it starred Patrick Swayze.. 😆

My home❤️ I was born downtown Charleston. Raised on James island. I take every opportunity to learn everything I can about my amazing hometown and I love walking my dog around the city. What a fantastic tour. Learned new things. Thank you. So in love with Charleston. If you’re wanting to visit, don’t hesitate.

Love it! Even learned a few things I didn’t already know. I do wish she went more in depth about the black history like Denmark Vesey and Gullah culture, but the tour itself was beautiful. And the suggested videos say Natchez, MS which is where my fiancé is from, so I’m headed to that video next! You’re amazing!

Great job, so informative! Thank you! Due to the Canadian wildfires affecting the air quality here in NJ, i am seriously considering moving to Charleston. I am a singer and artist and I hear the scene is wonderful there! Today the AQI is moderate there so hoping u all don't end up having to deal w/ the bad air quality as well! Thanks again!! :)

Diana, You got a good vibe going and great energy for walking Charleston. Really enjoyed the tour. I live in Aiken, SC and never go near Charleston because I don't like to walk. So, your tour was very inspiring. One suggestion: When talking about Palladian architecture, please know that Andrea Palladio was Italian, not Greek! I listened to all this video this young lady does a great job telling the history of the city. I'm almost 60 years old I was born in Charleston. My 16th great-grandfather from Scotland came to Charlestown. They left England and they were part of the original the 86 people that came the present-day Charlestowne Landing. Alot of slaves were sold at actions right where the great Wooden Ships would come in on the Cooper River especially in Adgar's Wharf area . For many many years to come this was were the docking of ships during this time. Later on United States government developed the Charleston Naval Shipyard and the shipyard had destroyers and minesweepers but the harbor is no more than 45 ft in-depth and could not accommodate bigger ships such as aircraft carriers still today for the merchant container ships they have to dredge the harbor were the Freighter ships come and go from Ports Authority both on the Cooper River and now the Wando River.

Pineapple spindle tops on my brother's home, built in 1914 or 15 which was built by a Steel Baron here in the South. Gorgeous home that they brought it to its original condition but were only the 3rd owners! The care takers home rest neatly at the back of the property. I enjoyed your tour very much Diana. I have always wanted to go to Charleston.
Superb! 👌 Learned a lot today. Will get myself some pineapple 🍍 tonight.
Wonderful! Are pineapples plentiful in Prague?
Glad you liked it! Did you spike your pineapple on your gate to show you were having a party or use it as a center piece and then rent it to someone else to use as their centerpiece? No? That’s what they did here back in the day!
Happy Travels😀
@@FreeToursbyFootHQ not really 😅We have a lot of 🍻!
