  • Join Savannah Georgia tour guide, Chris from Savannah Free Tours, on this 24-min walk through one of America's most charming and beautiful cities, Savannah, Georgia. Discover the 'City of Squares' and the beautiful architecture and cityscapes that make Savannah arguably the best city in the country to stroll through.
    Chris will take you from the riverfront through the various city squares, including the one used for the famous bus stop scenes in the classic film Forrest Gump. Savannah Georgia is also a special place for the Girl Scouts of America.
    You will be introduced to the characters that inhabited and developed this wonderful place. You will also learn about a duel between two prominent Revolutionary War figures as well as the house occupied by General William Tecumseh Sherman during his "March to the Sea" campaign. And yes, you will see the wonderful oak trees with their hanging ribbons of Spanish moss.

    Love this. Not the BS cute couple who come onto the city to make a buck off their review then move on to the next city as they "live their dream".

    known Chris, the tour guide for a long while. First of all, Chris is a Savannah born guide to the city. It does make a difference. Secondly I dig the way Chris presents a laid back experience (himself) and yet he is chock full of Savannah history and contemporary places to see, go and...chill. Thirdly, Chris is articulate. Dont forget to tip him!

    GA was initially established as an indebted colony 😳 I know I have been in debt for the 59 years I have lived here😂 The best is Bonaventure Cemetery, which actually, is not in Savannah...but Thunderbold , GA....DO NOT miss the ghost tours, or River ST.....Thanks for this🐾🦊🐺

    of course, honest Abe did start the civil war. Northerners did not want to fight; they were pushed into it & lured to join the military with $ during a depression. The founders understood that states could leave the union as some New England states had considered doing.

      No they weren't mike, there's literally 2 locations in the city where that happened, the cotton exchange and the old city market. happy to clear that up for you

      Pocahontas was married to a man by the name of John Rolfe, he's the one credited with bringing tobacco to Virginia, and she visited England with him. She was 12 during the John Smith she saved his life and never taken against her will

    • @evenmoney
      @evenmoney Год назад +1

      If you're really into food, these crazy times aren't the best as so many restaurants are chronically short-handed and that affects the quality. New Orleans usually has some of the best tasting food and even there, you'll occasionally get an average meal. Just a few years ago, you'd never get anything close to average because average doesn't cut it in Nola.
