Easter Egg Nr. 17: Familiar Faces
During several parts of the story is possible to meet some familiar characters.
Black Mask appears briefly during the first mission, together with Floyd Lawton (Deadshot), from the side mission "Shot in the Dark", and Azrael from the side mission "Watcher in the Wings".
Hush also appears early in the game, inside the church. He is the killer in the side mission "Identity Theft".

I remember playing on the PS3 and zoomed in on Hush's bandaged face. When I did that, I saw his eyes looking at me, that really scared young me.

Whoever did Black Mask's VA did an excellent job. You can really hear the fear and anger in his voice.
The scene in the church floored me. I knew Hush would be running around at some point after that.
I already knew about Hush, but I never noticed any of the others. That's what I love about the Arkham series, no matter how many times you play through it, you always find something new if you just look thoroughly enough.
Possibly my favourite game of all time so far. A masterpiece.
I've replayed these Arkham games so many times and every time I replay it I learn something.
That first moment in Arkham city, the pure anarchy, and all these famous characters thrown in like animals in a zoo, it really sets the tone for the rest of the game.
Wow, I had no idea Hush and Azrael could be seen early in the game!
And the dude in the line in the beginning is Deathshot? Wow! Completely missed that.

According to the batman wiki, "After hearing Adam's account of what happened to Elliot, the radio next to him will broadcast a story concerning Bruce Wayne's arrest and incarceration in Arkham City. Elliot will move his head suddenly and utter "Wayne" in anger after hearing his name, showing just how obsessed and vengeful Elliot is towards Bruce Wayne."
At the start of the game escaping the prison. You can even here the assailant saying "You won't here the last of Black Mask!"

Another minor detail is when you monitor Hush's reading after saying Wayne, it says he's nervous because he sees Batman.
My favorite detail about the Hush easter egg is that he starts groaning in distress when the radio mentions Bruce Wayne

Knew of Black Mask, Deadshot and Hush being in these scenes, but no idea of Azrael’s cameo. Azrael being one of my favorite characters in the Batman mythos, this is TOO. DAMN. COOL!

I knew about most of them but i had no idea that Azrael appeared so early. I swear i learn something new about this game every day.
Hush will probably be the main villain in the 3rd game. We'll probably see a lot of the same villains with Man-Bat,Ventriloquist, Maxie Zeus, Firefly, and Red Hood making appearances. Black Mask will hopefully have a bigger role along with Scarecrow and Killer Croc.

Azrael is the dude that you probably see randomly ether around the gcpd building or the museum, and some other parts if the map.
I NEVER would have known the Azrael made an appearance right there, and that little bit of Hush. Good eye.
in the comics, it was azrael who dressed as batman to defeat bane while bruce was recovering from the broken back

@thedoubledeus The last one is Hush, the killer in the identity theft mission. I think he started the process of replacing his face with the median at the church and all the "replacement" part's are in the organ box on his chest. Nice touch.
There is also Ararel watching over you at the beginning when Bruce Wayne tells Jack Ryder to take his advice. Not listening to his advice he begs out for Bruce's help as he is being beaten. For a moment Azarel watches from a rooftop before disappearing...
I can't believe I didn't catch that at the beginning!! Now I'll have to start at the beginning.

I get to admit I like the attention to détails in this game
Ive heard that the next "Arkham universe" game is going to be set at the time when Batman first met the Joker (even though Mark Hamil will not be returning). Im hoping it follows the Killing Joke story, including the paralysis of Barbara Gorden, her transition from Batgirl to Oracle, a falling out between Batman and Jim Gordon, and maybe even Dick Graysons transition from Robin to Nightwing, while also showing the rise of Supervillians from the early Mob-boss and crime syndicate enemies
Damn, the creators really put a LOT of effort in making this game. I mean, did anyone else see the video about Joker's secret message when Catwoman chooses whether to save or not save Batman after getting the loot? That got me mindblown! I'm still discovering new things about this game, even after having completed it 2 months ago. I hope there are more people who will create games such as this and know they aren't just all for the money.
i think only penguin saw a bit of that , and i think it's not impossible that he and his small group of thugs could've assumed that bruce just had some fist cuffs etc

Not that it's significant, but the black guy in the vestibule with Batman and Ryder is the same guy Strange threatens to inject in the neck at the end of the game.

Just a tip, but inside the church on the side where you silently take down the thug from the scaffold, look at the pane glass window. Saint George's suit has a lot of similarities to Azraels... Coincidence?

That was Deadshot in the beginning? Damn, I was wondering why the guy said BANG; I just never made the connection.
From what I can gather from all the easter eggs I'm thinking that the third game's plot will consist of Hush running around as Wayne and tarnishing his legacy, Azrael playing a huge role, Joker's child possibly building a legacy to follow in his father's footsteps, and the best part; for all us Crane fanatics out there, Scarecrow possibly playing the big bad of the game by spreading a new fear toxin via toxin laced cockroaches supplied by bed bug....oh god...that...that sounds hellish!!!!

I didn't know the thugs went after Ryder too. Every time I've played, they've always ganged up on me....not like I ever gave them a chance to hit him tho =)
