It’s my head canon that Killer Croc mutilated Scarecrow, damaging his face beyond recognition, and beyond fixing, and he blamed Batman for what happened to him, He blames him for not stopping Killer Croc, So he worked in the shadows, not without leaving Batman to know that he will pay for what he’s done, and that he will be back.
If thats the case, why cant anyone accept their own faults? Batman I hate you and want you to die but if something bad happens to me, you better prevent it and if you dont I will blame you for it. Scarecrow blames batman cause his scrawny bitchass can't fight and couldnt defend himself
man good job personally i just play the games but people who look deeper into the games find things that are so important to the story of the game so ill give you a thumbs up for trying to solve or bringing light to the Arkham myths and mysteries
Ngl I kinda wish Knight expanded a bit more on Scarecrow’s motives on his plan aside from poisoning the city with fear. From what I heard, there is a theory that Crane at one point tried to place a bounty on Croc, but was unsuccessful, but I’m not sure if it’s actually true as Scarecrow never mentions or even said anything about the attack (it also doesn’t help that Croc was a eventual DLC side villain in Knight). They should of added a bit a dialogue at the end where Batman tries to explain to Crane that it was his fault for unknowingly entering Croc’s lair. Crane: All of this is my vengeance for you leaving me to die back in the Asylum with that…thing! Batman: It’s not my fault Crane. I tried to save you when Jones grabbed you. You should of known not to enter Croc’s lair, especially when near the water. If I hadn’t did what I did, Croc would of tore a good chunk of your body. You should be grateful that you’re even still alive. Crane: Grateful!? Because of you, that eyesore almost devoured me! I barely managed to get out alive! Look what it did to my face! Because of your actions, I have to live the rest of my days as an outcast, a shell of my former self, a broken man! Well now, my dark knight, I will make you, along with this corrupted city, suffer the same torture and agony as I suffered then… (Not the best dialogue, but something like that could work).
Wish this was what happened in that scene with Gordon, Barbara, Batman and Scarecrow (he could have even thrown Barbara off in anger thinking about what Batman said after Gordon shot batman)
The closest line we have to this is a line Scarecrow randomly says. "You left me to die at the Asylum. I will not show you such mercy." He believes Batman left him for dead, and the secret message from Arkham City proves that he wants payback on Batman for what happened at the Asylum.
Personal theory/ head-cannon: Crane's voice and appearance are drastically different in the two games. I think this is because after being facially disfigured and having his leg/torso mauled by Croc, and then somehow managing to escape, he dragged what was left of himself onto the Titan container in the bay, but he was otherwise fatally wounded and losing a lot of blood, so in a last desperate move, Crane injected himself one time with a minimal, concentrated dose of Titan, just enough to recover from the wounds. It worked, he survived, but it resulted in further permanent physical alterations, such as turning his skin pale-grey, turning his eyes a cloudy, dead-white, and altering his voice to sound deeper than before. That's my head-cannon on why Scarecrow looks and sounds so different in Arkham Knight..
you can see stitches on his right arm in knight where batman holds him up and his leg has like forest gump a metal thing that helps him to walk I guess and it seems his lips were ripped/bit off and his torso too how You said it.And his poor nose got ripped/bit off
@yusuf kiing Agreed, but that doesn't account for the voice change or the skin-tone/eyes. I still say to save himself from bleeding to death he injected himself with the Titan from the crate - a rationed, minimal amount, far less than Joker did, just enough to save Crane's life, but even that small amount further perminantly transformed his skin tone, eyes, and voice. Plus, that would explain why Hush didn't give Crane a new face- because there were no 'donors' who matched his new, leathery skin texture, despite evidence the two did business in Arkham city (Hush bought fear-gas canisters, so Crane probably at least approached Hush for surgery at some point) - Hush was probably already too occupied with his own surgical operation on himself too, but Hush might have still helped Crane build a new 'face' from his scarecrow mask, grafting pieces of it on instead of skin, or at least giving Crane the tools he needed to do that much to himself in return for business transactions. I suppose we'll never know everything that went down, nor why exactly Crane's so different from before because it was never fully written or explained, so this is my head-cannon for that.
The cockroaches in the containers are a reference too. In arkham knight there are those same crates on the stagg airships the you can rip open with the grapple.
It'd make sense if Scarecrow's toxin had titan in it. It'd be why it aggravated the infect Joker blood that Batman had when he was exposed to the toxin.
This is a perfect theory I always tried looking for crane in Arkham city after I found his base and his mask thinking I could find and defeat him but sadly that wasn’t a side mission
Maybe Scarecrow got his revenge on Croc by getting him caught and/or sent to the prison airship we see in the Arkham Knight DLC where Croc gets abused and experimented on. It wouldn’t be out of the question seeing as Scarecrow had connections to Stagg industries, so a prison would be light work
If he had killed Batman and won, he probably would've personally handled Croc's torture. The amount of sadistic shit he would likely do to him is way too graphic for an M rating.
I don’t know man… I always feel like scarecrow, hated Batman to begin with, always messing with him in the asylum, with those giant size hallucinations, I just feel the killer croc incident actually gave him even more pure hatred, I guess to start with scarecrow did hate Batman… I mean what villain of Batman doesn’t? But this time to scarecrow it became personal instead of just all fun and games in the asylum
I think his relationship with Batman boiled down to him being more interested in his mind and fears rather than the actual guy behind the mask. I mean if I was interested in people's fears, I'd be pretty damn curious to know what the mysterious bat guy that scares everyone is afraid of. But I agree it might've been more personal in Arkham Knight
Idk if anyone knows but there is a scene or a voice line in Arkham knight with 2 scarecrow goons asking what happened to scarecrows face and one guard says,”I heard killer croc messed up his face “
After Arkham Asylum Crane definitely had to get medical treatment or performed it himself and went in hiding to make his fear-toxin even more potent. Stagg provided technical muscle and manufacturing capabilities in exchange for Crane getting rid of some of his rivals and promise of commercial adaptations after Scarecrow's mission is over. Of course both had plans to betray another. Crane also dosed himself with his fear-toxin to judge it's potency and those definitely did not make him any saner. As side-note Arkham Knight must have been planning his operation and stumbled upon Scarecrow's plan while preparing for it.
The only issue I have with this is that Crane didn't perfect his fear toxin. Stagg did. Stagg does state he was dissapointed with the effects of the fear toxin and in the subsequent experiments we first hear a man mumbling delusional, clearly affected but not much else, but then with Stagg's improvements the victim is absolutely histerical and screaming. It seems it was Stagg that improved the formula after all, and then this was compounded by the effects of the Nimbus Field generated by the Cloudburst.
In Arkham Knight Dr. Crane/Scarecrow’s bio says what happened to him. It describes that his face was indeed mutilated by killer croc and that is the reason scarecrow is seeking revenge during the storyline. The entire story revolves around stopping various villains with Scarecrow being the last one to stop. No spoilers as to what he plans for anyone who hasn’t played it but Scarecrow’s attack plan is by far the most clever and most dangerous and this is all because, he blames Batman for his disfigurement in the sewers.
The theory of Scarecrow surviving the attack by using a fear toxin against Croc makes more sense now. Killer Croc in one of Batman's death screens in Season of Infamy shows Croc wanting to kill Batman for leaving him with Scarecrow. The experience of the fear toxin was so traumatic for Croc that he wanted to take revenge on Batman.
Here’s my take on the post credits scene: I don’t think Titan was used in cranes toxin, I believe the end cutscene was used to inform the truest Batman players of 2009 who played all difficulties and got all endings; letting them know that Croc escaped, Bane didn’t drown and that crane survived. (Of course in city this lets the player know how bane discovered Titan). I don’t see how crane would need Titan, other than to maybe sell it to someone for money to focus on research, and I think croc doesn’t care enough/too stupid to know what it is. Crane probably used the money to fund the barge (at a marked down price since old Gotham was getting closed up to build Arkham city), at one point tossing away his old mask and the crows gathering it for a nest build on the bridge. His face was all he could salvage in my opinion(not plastic surgery), his vocal cords probably needed reconstructed explaining his voice change. Croc also damaged his leg, crane is seen with a leg brace in knight. Crane should’ve gotten revenge on croc for disfiguring him, not Batman for like making him lose focus or something. Knights plot barely connects with the other games, it’s beats from the last two are “joker blood poison” and “scarecrow exists”. I think they could’ve done better than making knight a huge checklist and squandering Paul Dinis amazing writing, he was really setting something up with hush, ra’s al goul etc…
All that just to say you don't like scarecrow Besides he probably saw it as Batman basically just standing there and watching Croc take Him into the water and how do you assume he would get Revenge on croc? Fight him, inject him with fear toxin? either way he would just get killed, besides croc is captured in a prison in Arkham Knight which is on water and surrounded by police officers so going there looking for Revenge is a suicide mission
@@sleepy8695scarecrow took over the stagg airships he could get the prison airship no bother. I’m saying his revenge on batman is misplaced since batman didn’t disfigure him, Croc did. The main point I’m trying to make is the bad writing in knight, how they didn’t make use of Dinis set ups very well.
@@bloxyboy2739. dude there's literally nothing wrong with the writing in Arkham knight and making scarecrow the villian is very good and a huge step away from joker being the main antagonist from all three games. also there's literally nothing in the game or story that said scarecrow blamed Batman for what croc did stop hating on the game just because it's not the same old shit we got from Previous Arkham games
I think that once crane got dragged under, he got mutilaed, and brought to the brink of death, but he used titan to stay alive and because of the massive high of titan, his demear changed to be calmer.
Anyone else see the bag of nighmare dust Scarecrow dropped and thought "Wait, you're just gonna leave it there, Batman? Right next to the sewer water?"
He got hit with a fucking retcon stick, that's what happened. Somehow being mauled by Croc, whom he doesn't even blame for some reason, turned his high pitched voice into a pleasant deep baritone.
@@ThatGuyChoco I'm not saying Scarecrow wasn't supposed to be the villain, what I'm saying is that they retconned many aspects of the character, such as his voice.
Good job man. You put everything in its place. If I remember rightly, we can also see criminals with scarecrow mask when Protocol 10 is activated and before we go to stop Strange, right?
He probably broke free at some point when Jones took him under, but at the same time was probably disfigured possibly by Jones' claws. Well thats how I see it.
That was actually because his condition that turned him into what he is gets worse the more stressed he is and by Knight he was being tortured for several months if not a year or so
@@bootyswiper7727Scarecrow's name can be seen at the Blackgate check-in and check-out paper at the beginning of the game, meaning he's been to the prison multiple times. Killer Croc new name is CROC LESNAR, cause in wrestling everybody scared to face Brock 1 on 1 & obviously Scarecrow is scared to run a fade with Killer Croc.. So he gonna blame Batman instead lol

Pretty solid theory, man, althought I believe Scarecrow didn't reach Arkham City right after the asylum, but got there subsequentialy when he heard the plans of it to become the prison it will be
A thing has to be said, what he did to his face was intentional, he wanted to abbandon the identity of Jonathan Crane to fully imbrace the Scarecrow personality
@@ThatGuyChoco there aren't many info about one the Arkhamverse wiki, but it basically says that during Croc's attack his face got mauled along side his entire body like the left leg (noticeable by the brace) and the damaged retinas, after he reached safety thanks to the titan container he seeked medications, most of the face was heavily damage, he also lost a lot of teeths and most part of his nose was also missing, that's also another one reason why he decided to fuse his face with his mask

Harley Quinn: No TRANSFUSED JOKER BLOOD business? That was the best part! And the worst part. The bworst. Deadshot: Sure missed a lot in Gotham while I was out of the game. Ain't sorry about it. Boomerang: Oi, if you ever heard a rumor about Scarecrow makin' me have an accident? NOT true. King Shark: There are so many villains in Gotham City! Much more than in Louisiana.
Minor correction: Crane actually went to Thomas Elliott, A.K.A. Hush, A.K.A. The Identity Thief for the facial surgery and paid in the fear toxin, which can be seen in Hush's hideout. What Hush used the toxin for is admittedly a mystery, but it is worth noting.
@kenthekid9992 admittedly, I've only heard it through other players instead of it being confirmed in the games, but the canisters of fear toxins in Hush's hideout is enough evidence for me.
So was just his face damaged or did he receive any other injuries like was his whole body basically fully degloved or something else that would be pretty bad
Scarecrow learned something in the asylum. He learned that whatever man is under that mask is protected by Batman. So now he knows he has to make Batman fearful as well. Which is why he keeps telling Batman that he will strip away his mantle as a legend and a hero and turn him into a pathetic whimpering child like kinda like how he was in the alley. But beca of the joker toxin he ends up killing Bruce, so Bruce dies in his mind to save Batman. And now Batman takes his vengeance for killing that boy in the alley and replacing him with The Batman. Scarecrow wanted to enact vengeance on Batman and the soul underneath. Take away their hope, but he ended up giving Batman hope, this time Bruce saves Batman and every little boy out their in fear they will lose everything.

I can only imagine what he looked like when he swims to shore with his injuries before seeking medical attention

That’s a very good explanation. No wonder why scarecrow has the undead like appearance whole time.
I think that once crane got dragged under, he got mutilaed, and brought to the brink of death, but he used titan to stay alive and because of the massive high of titan, his demear changed to be calmer.

He got hit with a fucking retcon stick, that's what happened. Somehow being mauled by Croc, whom he doesn't even blame for some reason, turned his high pitched voice into a pleasant deep baritone.
City was planned right from the release of Asylum, and you can find many hints for Scarecrow being the villain in the next game

Good job man. You put everything in its place. If I remember rightly, we can also see criminals with scarecrow mask when Protocol 10 is activated and before we go to stop Strange, right?
You are indeed correct
that’s just their attire ig for protection from the cold
It's not criminals with Scarecrow's mask. They're just dead bodies with messed up textures around their face.
My question is how did scarecrow escape from killer crock it was never explained in knight I wanted flashbacks with scarecrow
He probably broke free at some point when Jones took him under, but at the same time was probably disfigured possibly by Jones' claws.

I do believe Scarecrow used the titan to mixed with his fear toxin in Arkham knight.
No, Stagg is the one who made the brand new toxin. It's stated in the airship tapes.
crocs titan ending could also be canon too since in Arkham Knight he grew a tail and was more mutated
That was actually because his condition that turned him into what he is gets worse the more stressed he is and by Knight he was being tortured for several months if not a year or so

They do some arkham knight thugs talk about how crock tear apart crows face they never explained how he escape they pretty show why his face look like that
8:09 I WAS SO SURPRISED THE FIRST TIME I HEARD THIS IN GAME
Finally it’s been revealed cause I thought Killer Croc ate Scarecrow and this Arkham Knight Scarecrow was some new Scarecrow
Was that stated somewhere?
@@ThatGuyChoco there aren't many info about one the Arkhamverse wiki, but it basically says that during Croc's attack his face got mauled along side his entire body like the left leg (noticeable by the brace) and the damaged retinas, after he reached safety thanks to the titan container he seeked medications, most of the face was heavily damage, he also lost a lot of teeths and most part of his nose was also missing, that's also another one reason why he decided to fuse his face with his mask

Where does find this info
@kenthekid9992 admittedly, I've only heard it through other players instead of it being confirmed in the games, but the canisters of fear toxins in Hush's hideout is enough evidence for me.
So was just his face damaged or did he receive any other injuries like was his whole body basically fully degloved or something else that would be pretty bad
You know what else I think I know who that plastic surgeon was who further deformed Scarecrows face, Dr. Thomas Eliot aka Hush
My only grudge is that he’s voice changed from wessly and creepy to mature and serious.

Its impressive and lucky that he didnt loose his eyes with what Croc have done to him
Scarecrow learned something in the asylum.
