- In this Capcut Edit Tutorial, I document how I make a horizontal video vertical… www.videolane.com/horizontal-...
Hey, Adrian! How do you make a horizontal video into a vertical video in Capcut?
Easy! Let me show you how!
Open Capcut and start a New Project.
Select the horizontal recording and tap on Add.
By default Capcut will format the entire video based on the first clip you add.
Go to the main menu and select Format.
Choose 9:16 to make it vertical.
Select the clip in the timeline.
Use two fingers to enlarge the preview image.
Adjust left or right until your subject fills the entire vertical frame.
Note that you will lose some image quality.

This was so helpful. Thank you
Thank you so much! This was very helpful 😊✨
Love it. He goes straight to the point (doesn't go on longer than necessary introducing the theme like most youtubers).
Besides being practical and objective, he's also original and fun. Peculiar, a nice presence!
Omg thank you!
Quick and efficient
Literally clicked through to comment and like. Good work!
Thank you Adrian. Do you know how to do this in the Desktop app too? The Desktop app does not have the "Format" button :(
Thank you 😊 helped me so much !!!
I'm so glad!
Thank you so much this helped a lot

Is there a way to do this on the MacBook version? I don't have the same screen and cant find the Format function.

true saviour
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! PS. You're hilarious and it was enjoyable to watch your video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
i tried this and i didn't see the "Format" button next to "filters" like shown in the video, but then i realized it's not "format" anymore, it's "Ratio" click that and it'll take you to the format page and select 9:16
Thank you 😁
You're welcome!
Thanks. I tried it this way too but when I duet with someone on TikTok it became like a square video. When I tried to use this method to convert to 9:16 it does not show two people in the duet. I hope that was clear. Any advice? Thank you again for your video.
Then I will not enlarge the square video just to fill the 9:16 space. Leave it as a square in the middle so it shows everything.
Omg this was straight forward your the best :O
Great 👍
Best believe I'll be visiting your channel for all the editing tips I need 🥰

Nope
God doesn’t exist grow up.
May god bless your soul for making this video 🙏🏽
You are so kind
but how do you do it without sacrificing image quality?
No way... But maybe soon with AI
If your here recently format is now aspect ratio
can you make it without loosing quality? because I see a lot of tik toks of gaming footage in horizontal with good quality
When it comes to zooming in digitally there will be some quality loss. Unless we record in high quality like 4K resolution.
Is there a way to do this without losing quality?
Probably in the near future, when AI is able to improve the quality of videos.
what about moving characters?
Do you mean the animated text? That's one of the text template in capcut.
@@videolane no when the character or object is moving from one end of the screen to another. moving sequence.
Couldn’t find format
Try Ratio
Thanks! How do you apply it to all clips? Because I have so many clips and captions, I have to change each one individually. It is also hard to get the zoomed in aspect the exact same size and location as the previous one. Is there anyway to apply it to all?
When I have many clips, I will export the entire project in 4k. Then start a new project with the exported 4k video to make them vertical.
✔️👍
The format button didn't show up
Try Ratio button
@@videolane ok
Dude, when you do this, the quality deteriorates, you need a cropping method.
Perfect video! PERFECT! I’m gonna get so many views 😂
Choose.. VOMIT!
