To answer your question, Logan is dying because his Adamantium skeleton has been slowly poisoning him since it was injected. Adamantium bonds with the materials around it, but it’s extremely toxic. It bonded with his bones but slowly entered his bloodstream and with age, it’s slowly overpowering his healing ability as he grows old. Not only that, but the Adamantium is the only thing keeping him from turning feral like his brother, although it does suppress his powers to a certain extent. There was a comic where Magneto actually stripped Logan of his Adamantium skeleton, only to find out it was the biggest mistake he could’ve made. Imagine the last scene of this movie except 10x more rage, and way faster healing.
You are 'mostly' correct. The part you are missing is actually easily overlooked. They put the mutant "cure" in genetically modified corn (or maybe just the corn syrup), so Logan has been steadily consuming the cure for years (if it was, indeed, in the corn itself, then the whiskey he drinks doses him even more since it's made from corn), so that has been effecting his healing factor, which allows for the metal to poison him more and more.
I’ve heard the main reason isn’t the metal in his body but a company poisoning the food supply around the world that stunts the mutant gene. Which is why there’s almost no new mutants running around
@@scottketchie5703the reason it has started is because Logan is old, while he has aged way slower than many he still ages. @TabathaTMartin I'm more partial to 'Beyond The Hills' since it's a reprise of the Logan and Rogue theme from the first X-Men film. Hearing it and realizing everything had come full circle was just an incredible sensation to me.
Thanks for the laughs Mell. This was me and my bestfriends favorite X-men movie. He passed a few weeks ago, taught me everything I know about marvel and was looking forward to learning more as the new movies came out. Thanks for the reaction Mell, seeing someone who loves this movie as much as I do helps ❤
The ending to this movie was heartbreaking. “Don’t be what they made you.” Just watching Logan live such a long life even longer than xavier and go through so much on top of that just to finally come to an end was devastating. Finally saying goodbye to X-Men was so hard. “So this is what it feels like.” 💔 Best Marvel movie in my opinion. PS: The part where you acted like you were Wolverine had me too weak 😂 The editing to your videos are incredible. Don’t ever change.
This movie had me bawling from beginning to end knowing that it was the culmination of every wolverine/xmen/Hugh Jackman performance/movie for me especially because I was the perfect age to grow up on and with these movies it's the same feeling I got from endgame with iron man it's just pure perfection
I am so sorry you were so upset at the end of the movie.! But I wanted to share how much I appreciate how real you are and how you do not hold back how films hit you in the emotions. It is truly appreciated how real you are and work so hard to make such enjoyable content. As someone that watches a lot of movies by myself when I am sick I truly appreciate your work to make a reaction channel so much fun and unique. Thanks so much for being so dedicated and sharing your true appreciation and dedication to films. It is great how you often point out different aspects of film making from film scores to even the CGI how you remind viewers to enjoy the film and not get caught up in old CGI or if it is not up to par for the time period in which the film was made. You are a real one my dude thanks so much.!🤗🙂🤗
so this is the same universe where deadpool is from? the last scene of professor not having a funeral but having Logan digging and making a grave for Xavier got me crying that hit hard in my heart just seeing your last student attending a private funeral
Still couldn't get over this is the first R-rated movie i ever experience in Theater, despite being a minor at that time i watch. It was truly one of the best movie experience, and if i'm not wrong one of the theaters in my country cut to black around the middle of the movie,i was kinda scared if i waste my money to watch a movie than cut to black at the end,but thank God it didn't happen in a Theater i watch and i watch till the end.
Wolverine, Ironman, And Batman are my top 3 superhero’s and seeing all of them die is crazy. That Daddy part gets me too because I wish they had more time together
Mello, I so appreciate you feeling your feelings in the reaction. I was crying right alongside you on this one. In the theatre I was bawling my eyes out so much and then I moved to the toilet to hide out and ugly cry what was left. This movie is very deep on a human level and a superhero one. I cried for the human layers that apply to us as much as I did for the chapter of Wolverine ending. I grew up on the XMen '92 series. Top tier movie ❤
For the adamantium, when he was younger his healing could fight the poisoning which is why its never been an issue, but all those years of his body fighting that and all his other injuries eventually it caught up with him. His healing was just too slow~
That’s nice also sad since Eric was his friend and in this universe is probably dead like several other mutants. Charles and Logan were the last of the original generation. Charles getting the hat in memory of Eric would be something he’d do.
Real talk. Thank you for sharing your tears and vulnerability with us. There's just something beautiful and honest with how open you are, and it's so meaningful seeing my own feelings reflected in someone else when these movies really hit. I know you love the character, and I appreciate you showing this genuine reaction. I appreciated all the feedback and how raw it was. This is the first reaction I’ve seen of yours, and I enjoyed it a lot. 38:05 The Adamantium metal laced onto Logan's bones was implanted by the Weapon X program. The reason he survived the lacing was because of his healing factor, which has always been actively figthting to extract the metal out of his body but cannot. As Logan gets older, The healing factor has become weaker and the Adamantium is slowly poisoning him.
Spoiler Wolverine in Logan is the original from this world, in deadpool its not the same wolverine so not much changed except basically an alt dimension dude lives here now
I am a hugeeeee Wolverine fangirl. Been watching him and playing games of his and loving him since I was like 5 or 6. Watched every single animated show, movie, all that. And when this movie came out, I cried and cried when he died. But, to this day it’s my favorite movie, it’s so well done and even though it’s hard seeing the invincible Wolverine be so…vulnerable and getting hurt, feeling pain constantly, losing everyone he cares about, it’s an amazing movie. Hugh Jackman is a wonderful actor man
Dafne Keen played the perfect X-23. She is from a family of actors, directors and novelist. I had no idea she was also in Star Wars the Acolyte until recently.
Hey man, take it from a man that’s about to turn 50, no shame and crying in this case. Even though Logan is one of my favorite marvel movies, this is why I can only watch it once in a while. That final scene hits me as well.😔❤️
I know you mainly do movies, but a Wolverine fan film came out recently called Logan: the Wolf that you should definitely check out. It’s basically just a short film about an alternate Logan that’s a viking, and honestly it’s better than a lot of big studio movies today, you should seriously consider it! Keep up the good work dude!
Back in 2016. Before the release of X-Men:Apocalypse and following the success of Deadpool. Hugh Jackman tweeted with a pic of himself as the character showing the one admantium claw with the words "One Last Time". James Mangold, director of the previous Wolverine installment and 3rd film with Jackman was appointed to round out the trilogy. Using elements of the Old Man Logan comic storyline published prior to the first Wolverine solo film. In Days of Futurepast, history was altered for the most part of being a better world. But nothing could stop the unimaginable future that we see. Jackman as Logan in this film with what he faces is an inspiring performance and his best portrayal of the character. Caring for Xavier after an unforseen event, trying to be close with young Laura aka X-23 and battling these newer kinds of foes pushes the levels of what we've already known of this universe, that anything can happen, ready or not. The songs of Johnny Cash, influences of many 'Man/Child' coming of age stories, remarkable suspense/action and some of the most emotional moments ever seen in this genre. Making this Rated-R and a Hard R at that, was the best choice ever made to show this character in his element. This is one of the best film adaptations of an comic ever. Nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay (Academy Award, Writers Guild, etc) and winner of 9 consecutive awards. Ever after the trilogy's end, The path of Logan as an film made me feel like the X-Men film series was slowly but surely ending. Not changing for the better and just coming to it's close (eventually did).
This movie is so heart-breaking. It left an impact on probably every wolverine fan or x men fan in general i think. It makes me sad whenever i think about the fact that Logan has never really experienced what it feels like to have a true family. His whole life he just fought, fought and fought. Just when he found someone to call his own,he died. This man has never really experienced real happiness in his loooooong lifetime.
I love logan and the wolverine they are my favorite wolverine movies and show the kind man wolverine is. Even when he is broken he is always gonna do the right thing no matter what. He falls too much but he alway gets back up.
This is definitely not only Wolverine but the best X-Men movie ever seen. Wolverine's death made me speechless in a sad way. That's because I grew up watching the X-Men movies and Wolverine is the best character of the franchise.
This was the last movie I saw with my mother before she got sick one last time and passed away.. it remains one of my all time favorite movies.. for our connection to the characters and the ride we had enjoying it and crying together at the death of our favorite marvel character…
I've put off watching this movie for years because I had been riding with X-men since I was 10 years old. It was like an end of an era for me . . . I think its time now.
That Mindblast at 23:13 and throughout it was so damn brutal. Logan, and I assume Laura as well, have the ability to resist most of Telepath's connections. But for other people, it's pure hell. Especially when some of the bad guys see Logan make his way to the room and he stabs them in the head. I feel as if they did not die, they were stuck in a constant state of death and life that lasted until Xavier was calmed down with the meds. That has to be so damn awful to feel but its so damn well played to see
Mind you THIS Logan is the same one we've been seeing. It may not be the same body but mentally he's the OG Logan from back in the day. So that means this poor bastard had to live through 2 alternatives futures of nothing but death and pain and nobody else remembers but him.
I remember when I first watched Logan in theaters, I was 12. I hated it, I didn't want to see Wolverine die. Now that time passed, I do really appreciate the movie. Of course I was more than happy to have Wolverine come back, in his yellow spandex.
Everyone talks about how heartbreaking the death of logan was, but what really is heartbreaking to me is how it tells you how the xmen died. During the seizure event in vegas, after they leave, the radio talks about how 1 year ago in a similar event, many people were killed at the mansion in westchester. This would have been the school for the gifted. It implies that charles accidently killed all the mutants he cared for all of those years. Its extremely sad
Wolverine is one of my favorite comic book characters. My top 10 favorite comic book characters 1. Deadpool/Wade Wilson 2. The Flash/Walky West 3. Dr. Strange/Dr. Stephen Strange 4. Nightwing/Robin/Richard "Dick" Grayson 5. Thor Odinson 6. Green Arrow/Oliver Queen 7. Wolverine/James Howlett/Logan 8. John Constantine 9. Beast Boy/Garfield Logan 10. Blade/Eric Brooks

Awesome brother. You helped me feel ok having feelings. Even your reaction I have tears. The scene when Logan dies and she's crying daddy... I have 8yr old twins, a boy and a girl... ya the tears flow Every Time. You got my thumbs up man 👍
I like that Logan is referencing the movie Shane. It's intentional because it gives more context. For those who aren't familiar, Shane is a western about a man who has given up his life as a cowboy, long story short he doesn't want to fight a bunch of bad guys and reluctantly does it. The ending is pretty good because it's an ambiguous one.
I own this movie so i dont know how many times ive watched this, every single time i cry at the same exact moments like ive never seen it. 41:35 He is 198 years old and it's always been poisoning him but his healing factor was always keeping it in check because it's not natural to his body and the metal is toxic like copper or metal poisoning in real life and now because he is starting to get old, old, the healing power can't keep up anymore because of his age
To answer your question, Logan is dying because his Adamantium skeleton has been slowly poisoning Wolverine since it was injected. Not only that, but the Adamantium is the only thing keeping him from turning feral, although it does suppress his powers to a certain extent.
The adamantium is poisoning him because his healing factor can no longer compensate. And his healing factor is failing due to the anti-mutant agent that Zander Rice and his people have been adding to the corn. Since corn syrup winds up in pretty much all food products these days, it's an effective check on the mutant population.
According to a comment I saw somewhere Magneto removed it from Logan in a comic and then regretted doing it. If I’m remembering correctly it made Logan bigger, faster and more feral. I could be wrong feel free to fact check me.

I'm very disappointed this movie wasn't nominated for best score.
I'm pissed that Hugh Jackman hasn't won ANY award yet for playing The Wolverine for over 20 YEARS NOW
Also the X-24 theme and the final fight music are the best parts of the soundtrack
That lil girl is a savage, she gangster AF. Love this movie bruh 🤘🏼😎🤘🏼
FR, Dafne Keen killed it at her age (literally)
Mello, I so appreciate you feeling your feelings in the reaction. I was crying right alongside you on this one. In the theatre I was bawling my eyes out so much and then I moved to the toilet to hide out and ugly cry what was left.
This movie is very deep on a human level and a superhero one. I cried for the human layers that apply to us as much as I did for the chapter of Wolverine ending. I grew up on the XMen '92 series. Top tier movie ❤
Awsome to see commentary that’s not just, “oh wow, dang, thanks for watching.” Phenomenal editing keep up the great work!
Aw that last scene Mello you and me both 😢 Loved your reaction commentary . Keep up your hard work . Until the next one 💜
For the adamantium, when he was younger his healing could fight the poisoning which is why its never been an issue, but all those years of his body fighting that and all his other injuries eventually it caught up with him. His healing was just too slow~
My personal head canon is charles picking up the fedora is in memory of eric.
That’s nice also sad since Eric was his friend and in this universe is probably dead like several other mutants. Charles and Logan were the last of the original generation. Charles getting the hat in memory of Eric would be something he’d do.
This was a great reaction, man. I’ve seen so many but yours is one of the best. Very enjoyable even if you’ve seen it before.
It's ok Mellow. I lost it when she made the cross an X too...😢😢😢
Real talk. Thank you for sharing your tears and vulnerability with us. There's just something beautiful and honest with how open you are, and it's so meaningful seeing my own feelings reflected in someone else when these movies really hit. You are a joy to watch, through the laughter and the heartache ✊
I love a true fan watching this. It hurts, but it’s so beautifully done even if it’s not quite legitimate canon. I’m glad that you saw the newest Deadpool Wolverine movie and it hit you. I know you love the character, and I appreciate you showing this genuine reaction. I appreciated all the feedback and how raw it was. This is the first reaction I’ve seen of yours, and I enjoyed it a lot. I almost didn’t finish it when I realized you had seen it before, but I’m glad that I did; also that it hit you a little differently.
Best review and commentary you've ever did on here bro. Obviously I haven't seen every video on your channel but, I've definitely seen pretty much the majority of your videos man but damn dude lol....I felt all of that bro. Real shit. I'm definitely a wolverine fan right with you.
38:53 she’s saying “look at it”. 😂 also love the way she said it
The final chapter in the Wolverine Trilogy, untill DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE changed all that.
And the fact that movie happen because Hugh Jackman watch the first Deadpool, and he can see what would it be like a Deadpool and Wolverine movie.
@@markeyiszraain't that the truth!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊
I mean, D&W takes place in an alternate universe, though it is technically canon
Spoiler
Wolverine in Logan is the original from this world, in deadpool its not the same wolverine so not much changed except basically an alt dimension dude lives here now
It’s not even the same Wolverine lmao what are you complaining about
I am a hugeeeee Wolverine fangirl.
Daf's fight in The Acolyte is one of THE best lightsaber duels since Luke/Vader in Jedi. Jecki was a BEAST.
I also like how you pay attention to things like the cinematography and the music while still being humorous.
I can't watch this movie without crying at the end. But it's good to cry, it's healthy. And for art like this, it means it really touched you.
Caring for Xavier after an unforseen event, trying to be close with young Laura aka X-23
and battling these newer kinds of foes pushes the levels of what we've already known of this universe, that anything can happen, ready or not.
The songs of Johnny Cash, influences of many 'Man/Child' coming of age stories,
remarkable suspense/action and some of the most emotional moments ever seen in this genre.
Ever after the trilogy's end,
The path of Logan as an film made me feel like the X-Men film series was slowly but surely ending.
44:43 that's the girl who does X-23's stunts that Daphne didn't do herself.
I love logan and the wolverine they are my favorite wolverine movies and show the kind man wolverine is. Even when he is broken he is always gonna do the right thing no matter what. He falls too much but he alway gets back up.
38:33 I think she's supposed to have said something like 'How do you expect me to talk to you when you're always yelling at me?'
This is definitely not only Wolverine but the best X-Men movie ever seen. Wolverine's death made me speechless in a sad way. That's because I grew up watching the X-Men movies and Wolverine is the best character of the franchise.
Gotta love a man that can show real emotion like this.
I look forward to your commentaries. Tank you for your content, you always make my day Mello.
Your editing is on friggin point!
This was the last movie I saw with my mother before she got sick one last time and passed away.. it remains one of my all time favorite movies.. for our connection to the characters and the ride we had enjoying it and crying together at the death of our favorite marvel character…
I love the shirt you're wearing!!
That has to be so damn awful to feel but its so damn well played to see
Thanks for being honest and saying you've seen it. I enjoyed watching it with you!
"Bad shit happens to people I care about"
The most gut-wrenching line in the movie 😢😢
Aww mello. Thanks for being so vulnerable. I’m crying with you!! 😂 😭
Bruh, the new intro and editing style are fucking amazing!
Thankyou for sharing your tears, that is why i watch your channel. Being real
I’ve only watched this movie twice. It’s great but I hate crying!
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
How can you not get choked up? It’s an emotional, visceral, and passionate movie. This is an example of why we watch films.
I wish more Marvel movies were R-Rated like this!
love these videos man keep em coming
Best Reaction ever!! Probs to You, This movie had me also. Reminds me of set it off everytime I see it I be about to ball
Dafne Keen's stunt double can be seen as herself towards the end of the movie. She is the girl wearing the orange hat among the other mutants.
My top 10 favorite comic book characters
1. Deadpool/Wade Wilson
2. The Flash/Walky West
3. Dr. Strange/Dr. Stephen Strange
4. Nightwing/Robin/Richard "Dick" Grayson
5. Thor Odinson
6. Green Arrow/Oliver Queen
7. Wolverine/James Howlett/Logan
8. John Constantine
9. Beast Boy/Garfield Logan
10. Blade/Eric Brooks
45:00 this was the best of the video for me! You are the 🐐 Mell! Never change, I’m glad ur one of my top fav YT reactors! I wanna buy Wolverine claws now lol
Awesome brother. You helped me feel ok having feelings. Even your reaction I have tears. The scene when Logan dies and she's crying daddy... I have 8yr old twins, a boy and a girl... ya the tears flow Every Time. You got my thumbs up man 👍
“He’s having a bad day” 4:22 - 4:27
- “ Shee, you look like you always havin a bad day
I like that Logan is referencing the movie Shane.
I love watching other people react to this movie and see them break at the times i do...and especially you with your awesome edits this shit cracks me up. I hope she has more in the work in marvel movies. id so watch a X-23 stand alone movie with just her an a few cameos lol
Logan - No Country for Old Men/Unforgiven
Joker - Taxi Driver/King of Comedy
I still remember MY first time watching "Logan"... It made me tear up like no other X-men movie
The editing on your videos never gets old 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thanks for doing this one! My week has been full of X men. Also Dark Phoenix was delightfully not as bad as the memes. That was some good news!
Don't feel bad bro. I'm a 46yr old guy and this movie always brings tears. My kids have seen their dad with tears watching this movie. Great reaction
Everyone is talking about metal in wolverine killing him. I always thought it was the corn syrup suppressing his healing factor.
bruh gtfo lmao. that was actually funny holy fuck lol
Charles Xavier's death hit me hard. It hit everyone hard at the Movies. Not a single dry eye that day. It broke my heart.
This got me in the feels the ending 😭
@@isaquinos_vlogs yeah you’re completely right. The adamantium is kinda like Tony’s reactor in Iron Man 2, it’s what’s keeping them alive but killing them at the same time.
@@ShoreFell thanks
This is the best stand alone marvel movie, period.
I aldo like the guardian movies but i cant bring myself to put them over this one
3:32 you in the car legit sent me it was so random lol
41:33 adamantium turns poisonous when it gets old. The only thing that was keeping it from poisoning Logan was his abilities. When Logan got older his healing abilities got weaker and the adamantium started poisoning him.
49:36 it’s 8am i’m eating bojangles drinking water and CRYING
