SUCH a peak Direct!!!! They announced so many crazy titles! I didn't expect for them to announce so many major things in this one direct but I'm all for it!! Your reaction to the Zelda game did not disappoint lol, I'm glad we can actually play as Zelda!!! Will be buying Day 1 for sure! I like how we both said it was like Wuthering Waves with the whole echos lol
THIS DIRECT WAS ONE OF THE BEST YET, PERIOD ZELDA PLAYABLE FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IM GOING INSANE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there was so much incredible stuff!!!!! at least three of those could have been the "one more thing" announcement BEFORE the actual one which was METROID PRIME 4 FINALLY AS WELL LIKE WHAT yeahhhhhhh lol, especially with copying the enemies as well like damn it's exactly the same hahaha
Donkey Kong Country Returns was also on the Wii, I played it a fair bit growing up too. Evidently at some point I did beat it, presumably when I was a kid, but it's the post-game and 100% stuff that is especially hard, even as an adult lol. Hate that I saw the name 'Mario Party Jamboree' and immediately made a Pannenkoek2012 joke to myself hahaha. Overall though the main takeaways for me were the new Mario & Luigi and Zelda games, honestly shocked to see both. I thought AlphaDream dying was going to be the end of Mario & Luigi in all honesty, but what has been shown looks very creative. And Zelda... it makes sense that it's more of a 2D/side game given how little time has passed since Tears of the Kingdom, somebody mentioned there being a new Zelda game without that context and I was very confused for a while before I saw what it was lmao. It's cool that they decided to stick with the Link's Awakening art style though, and Zelda finally being playable is excellent! Metroid Prime 4 is also pretty big of course, I'm not really into Metroid, but it was so long ago they announced it that I actually forgot it was ever supposed to be a thing lmao Love how casual Nintendo are becoming in dropping big announcements like these months before release haha. I'm still stuck in the era I grew up in and probably will be for my whole life tbh, and only really hear about news/Directs like this through other people these days, but it's always interesting when I do.
i'd love to go back and complete it one day! it's always that thing of games seeming so intimidating because you couldn't finish it as a kid, but then when you do go back to it it's like "oh wait this is way easier now" haha. you're right though those post-game stages got hands lol i thought the same thing but i thought it a bit too obscure to mention. it makes me very happy that we both thought of the same thing haha i'm so curious to see who's actually making Mario & Luigi, because yeah it can't be AlphaDream, it'll be interesting to find out! it just looks incredible, i've never played a game in the series but i'd really love to play this game when it releases. and yeahhhh Zelda!!!! i'm definitely the most excited about that, i'm still in disbelief that we're getting a brand new Zelda game. it's been such a long time since we got a more "traditional" Zelda game, although playing as Zelda herself i'm not sure how traditional you can actually call it ironically enough. it looks incredible, i'm so excited for that. i'm really happy for Metroid fans! i'd like to get into Metroid one day because the Prime games especially look really cool. maybe one day! for real, i went into this expecting nothing at all and we just got banger after banger. i get that though, nothing wrong with that at all! as long as you're still having fun with what you play, that's the most important thing!! ^^ also! it's nice to talk to you again, Hylia!! ^^
