So from all of us, a big "thanks" to the traveler in the grey pickup truck who pulled our Foresty Forest out of the ditch!
I should've got a photo with him. Really nice guy. I had only $40 cash on me, would've given him more. Thank goodness people stop and help.
@@forestyforest I'm surprised the guy took money to pull you out. I think most people up there would have refused payment and be happy just to help.
@@sophilerin509 that was kinda grubby actually.
I cried when i watched that part of the vid . And yes so glad he stoped.
you only had 40 dollars on you? are you mad?!
"What am I doing with my life"8:47. A hell of a lot more than 99% of us that's what!! Great video
Not me. I have a life, but it's not in the ARctic in a broken down van. But, to each his own.
too right. Im always motivated to go out after these videos. I luckily live right by a bunch of mountains. Maybe one day ill actually go hike em lol
Fuck yeahhhh
@@ArtGardenFoodExpressions quite the judgmental reply. I quit painting landscapes etc years ago. Much more fulfilling to spend time in outdoors instead of hours painting them. To each their own.
@@ArtGardenFoodExpressions congrats! You totally have a positive attitude, like I dont scream sarcasm.
In a long string of killer videos Forest has outdone himself. Nat Geo should be calling him saying, “ please make video content for us”. This vid has it ALL; danger, bleakness, beauty, cold, wildlife, bonkers weather, tension and of course the slow cooker. Anyone else would go up there with a 4 wheel drive monster truck and support team. Forest is slaying it right now.
Those drone shots tho, soooo good
Spot on Jack.
Jack Wardrop 🤘🏼🤘🏼
His original fat bike tour videos were awesome.
totally agree!
First time I've seen this channel and as a Canadian, I have to say, lol, this guy is soooooo Canadian!!!!
I'm American, and most of the channels I watch regularly or subscribe to are Canadian. Les Stroud (Survivorman), Rhykker (gaming), The Rational National & Christo Aivalis (politics), Canadian Entropy (dashcams) and My Self Reliance (living in the wilderness). The best channels are Canadian!
I'm from down South as well and i do so miss Red Green.
Oh, and listening to music on Sunday morning radio in Newfoundland.
Canadia is America's hat.
@@mushroomsteve I suggest checking out Steve Wallis' channel, to add yet another fun Canadian show to your list.
@@Stikkelsbær Thanks for the suggestion!
Everybody there to are the most friendly people ever. We did this trip from whitehorse in 2018 and when we stopped to take photos 18 wheelers would come to full stops and get out to just check if we were ok. This should be on everyone’s bucket lists of places to go
That’s amazing. Just put it on my list.
A good reason to go. I love love meeting nice people.
I couldnt even fathom that level of friendliness. Weird!
Come on, kids, gather around now. It's time to tell you the Legend of Foresty Forest. Once upon a time there was a man, a Canadian man, who boldly drove into the unknown with nothing more than a soccer mom minivan, a laptop, and an old slow cooker who would eventually become his most beloved companion.
Priceless... lol
Has he drawn a face on the slow cooker yet?
He and his trusty crock pot laugh at danger.
Joseph Lauren How about Zelda??
Then he had a catastrophic failure and the police were scared for him
Social Distancing the Canadian Way
Looks like he did shake the guys hand who helped him...tho likely with gloves on
Chris Kalberg he should have given him a big hug
Ha Ha well said.
LOL
Heck yes
I live outside Atlanta, Georgia USA. There are thousands of lifted, built Jeeps and Trucks crawling around suburban mall parking lots that will never even see .01% of the extreme-duty that FF's Chevy Minivan endures daily. Bunch of posers down here. Foresty bro, I wish you nothing but the best of luck with your videos and talent. I hope you one day become a household name and can live all your dreams to the fullest....although I cant imagine there are too many dreams left that you haven't already experienced. Kepp up the great work man. Good luck in the Tuk.
Agreed, wish he had a heavy duty vehicle that he deserves for what he does. Instead, he goes beyond putting those posers to shame by driving a "Mommy Van" to the Frozen Hell......I laugh when these city posers go over speed bumps very slowly, in order not to 'upset' their vehicle......
Here in Dallas, TX the same. Very small percentage of truck operators use a truck for its intended purpose - unless getting groceries or going to soccer practice requires a lift and LED bar.
best reply ever
Live in the metro area of Atlanta too, definitely agree. Also where and around where I went to high school I saw a bunch of lifted jeeps and trucks that never even saw mud.
@@hc130radio these guys in these jacked up four by fours are just trying to lift their egos. Wish they would adjust their head lights so they don't blind
When I watch this guy, it means that I'm chillaxing in my bed, enjoying his videos, and waiting to fall asleep. It takes huge balls to do what this guy does, he is fearless. He goes to places where most won't even attempt to go and deals with the elements, mechanical breakdowns, risks on his own.
This is not a place that i would see in my lIfetime and i am Canadian. Thanks for bringing us along!
carol T2 that makes 2 of us, watching from my living room in Montreal. Crazy.
From the US, this ain't gonna happen lol
The “I” should be capitalized, you should know that as a Canadian...

That fox has probably been starving all winter. He looked like he wanted a piece of that drone pretty bad.........
Vegan Nurse Sarah Yea that was sweet! 👍🏿
Coolest thing ever.
Sitting here in central Illinois trying to figure out why there isn't any toilet paper on the store shelves and giving myself a headache.
Then I hear a ding and it's Forestry Forest and another great video!
Thank you, it is just what I needed!!
Ikr everyone’s panicking about toilet paper it’s so weird 😂 better by some hand soup guys
Yup! I also can't seem to figure out where all the toilet paper has disappeared in North Texas.
Same here in Germany - the world is going crazy🤣
OMG you too eh. Why does everyone think that toilet paper is going out of fashion? If the world is ending you would think it would be alcohol flying off the shelves, or at least food... but toilet paper? Come on people.
Hey im in central il too
even to a canadian, you sound very very canadian, greetings from Vancouver Island :)
You need to build a special shelf next to the drivers seat. Crocky needs to see where's he's going. ✌️🇨🇦✌️
Bro I hardly laugh out loud, thanks I needed that
That's what I thought he was doing with the crock pot, because he didn't bungie cord it to the kitchen counter.
Omg yes!😆😅
Crocky? I thought his name was Stewy!
I love this dude, wanna do this so badly. This might be the all-time best content on youtube in my opinion
Only one way to make it happen. Jump ship and go. Throw the excuses in the garbage.
Liam Carroll Foresty and Erik Norman are the two best imo.
@recycler Why is it too late?
@@chrisallen9154 I don't have a drivers license yet, once I'm on my feet I'm going for it though
This video is pure magic, Foresty. Thanks again for bringing it into our lives - we all needed something to escape the madness that is going on right now.
@Lil B Fitness, Food, & Fun Me neither. So sick of it.
9:47 - "I talked to a police officer over there, and he's more concerned about my well-being"

Professional peace officers. Eh!
Im from the UK. Canadians are awesome. I've met lots traveling. Considering the countries close proximity to the USA the people are very different to our American cousins. Slim potato head and Steve Wallis just reinforce this with their laid back coolness. Can some one please explain to me how many Canadians speak french and from what parts of the Canada they would come from. Thx.
@@black_squall Thanks for letting me know that. I traveled with some french people and some Canadian people and they were telling me its a different kind of french. Old french ??
@@ballisticdan9135 there are millions of canadians across the country who can speak french, but fluency is more likely for those directly from quebec or north-eastern ontario. new brunswick is also officially bilingual with bilingual road signs. my cousins grew up an hour north of edmonton alberta out west and they went to a french immersion high school since their community was historically francophone. up on baffin island in the arctic .. there is a francophone association in iqaluit that hosts a fabulous lunch on fridays that is a big community gathering. the local late nite diner up there is also run by francophones so you can get your poutine fix.
officially you are guaranteed service across the country in either official language (all 3 languages in iqaluit), but in practice that is not always fulfilled. however, if you are fluent in both languages, you have a much better chance at getting into a government position, or with the rcmp (the cop referred to in the video was rcmp since they handle territorial policing on contract). so if you meet someone in government service, they are also more likely to be 'fluent' in french, even if it is not their mother tongue.
@@senatorhung Hi thanks very much for taking the time to explain that. Its really interesting from my perspective coming from England. We only have one launguage in England but as a United Kingdom Wales has its own unique launguage that I believe is spoken quite widely. Thanks again for the info.
I always come back to this video because it's so good, love the drone footage, the scenery, everything

Astonishing sights.Your guardian angel saved you from your small accident in lonely road.Thank you for your videos.Take care.Waiting for your new video.
"The officer is more concerned about my well being" LOL he is right to. A man in the van pulled into town asking for a place to park in the middle of the winter. I bet he was puzzled.
Also OMG you have been climbing all this time without an SOS device??? Balls of steel.
was about time he got that satellite text device

Can we just take a moment and admire FF's adventurous spirit? To even undertake that drive alone takes a lot of courage! Such beautiful scenery..thank you for bringing us along on a ride not many people will see in their lifetime!
It's beautiful from the comfort of my living room in Florida but danger always lurks around the corner for men & woman who have a pioneering spirit.Godspeed to him.
Agreed 👍
Re-watching in 2024...this is one of my fav episodes!
Whistling coming from the van...Plastic underside cracked from cold and a love tap from rock or snow ? ...for a prank What we done as kids was put a marble in my dads hub cap Drove all the way to work with it ..i'm sure he heard it But said nothing when he come home And minus the noise My brother that night go's to the living room table for his keys for his car...Dad crazy glued them together... I ran to the garage to check my BMX lol Stay warm !
I'm very introverted and I prefer to be alone most of the time. But watching this made me feel like if I did this I would feel TOO alone. Like if something happened it would be a while before anyone knew. Props to you Foresty..not only do you get to see the beautiful world we share but you get to see it in ways a lot of people can't or would never dare.
when he returns to the civilization he is gonna find our remains :D

Hands down my favourite RUclips video of 2020 so far. The Arctic beauty is something to behold. The aerial views, jaw dropping. You are a lucky man Mr Forest and I am thrilled to tag along 💚
Thank you Asha!
He should have a billion subscribers!
@@forestyforest have you considered selling some of the drone footage on stock video sites? I'd guess it can be an additional income. Good luck and love your channel!
Man Forest, I was really feeling your isolation in this one...a little ptsd from when I drove the alcan in November of '19, and got sucked into a mountain in BC.. but, like you, had a Canadian "angel sent from God" come to my rescue.... Canadians are my favorite people on the planet after that experience.....❤
I'm surprised Chevy® hasn't approached you for a sponsorship; you've taken that minivan through some pretty extreme conditions!
Seriously this is a good idea. Seeing a Chevy being put thru this much work is amazing. Most normal cars wouldn't last thru this crap.

Sorry for your loss, glad these videos are helpful in some way.
This stirred my memory. I was a librarian at the U of A Extension Library. I remember the boxes of books we used to send our patrons at the fire towers. They always had such interesting requests.
Sorry for your loss,he seemed like a cool guy.hope he passed some strength down to you.
I've always been fascinated with the northern territories and Foresty is giving me my fill!
This was one of the coolest videos to watch yet. I'd LOVE to make that drive! I bet young foresty sitting in geography class never thought he'd be driving up that road to Tuktoyuktuk!
This Guy is a legend.the whole world is going hysterical over Covit 19 and this guy is taking his hotpot to the top of a frozen wind swept mountain.Total respect from Scotland.the world could learn a lot from you.🤘
I'm not hysterical at all, but i do worry about the folks who are. Times are changing...
I often say the internet is both good & bad.but during these trying times there is only about 10 percent of the population that can still work.thank God forest can,and we can enjoy his pioneering spirit.

I'm watching this one again because it's just so exciting! I know Canadians probably just take all this for granted, but to know that I actually can access this by just driving to it is setting me on fire! 🤣 What an adventure. My Daddy was a truck driver, so I would probably get a CB radio to talk to the truckers, because they always have the best information on conditions and share that information with others. Plus you can follow them on an ice road if you're like me, never driven on one. Man I can't wait!! 😍
Great video!! My brother rode his motorcycle (1979 Honda Goldwing) pulling a trailer on the dempster highway to Inuvik in the summer of 1983. he crashed on the way home, damaged his bike but fixed it enough to make it back alive to California. his trip was a great story

Them drone shots are absolutetly beautiful. You have such a great way of editing your videos. Very enjoyable.
Amazing 😃
Holy smokes! I'm so envious ... I made it to Dawson City years ago in the summer, and that scenery looks even more amazing in the winter. Thanks for the video, good luck with the storm! For your next attempt at crock pot pizza, try cooking the crust by itself for an hour, then add the filling and keep cooking.
good advice for the pizza cooking.
I was thinking maybe cut the recipe in half
And cook the rest in a couple days with different toppings
Thicker sauce and less of it might help too. But those are good suggestions--cooking the crust alone for an hour and cutting the recipe in half.
