This series &the end of the Carolina series is starting to buck that narrative and these are the steps we needed to see. That being said Florida isn't going to play dead and I doubt their phased, beating them one more time is going to be difficult, twice is going to take monumental effort

Why is that stupid? Say Team A is on a 5 on 4 power play, and a few seconds into it, its opponent is assessed another minor penalty. Now Team A will have a 5 on 3 power play until the first 2-minute minor penalty expires, at which point it becomes 5 on 4. With the current rule, minor penalties are served consecutively if the penalized team commits them at the same time, but they are served concurrently if committed at different times. Why? There's no apparent reason for it.
