I love that I can easily disable the loud beeping which announces the microwave is finished ruclips.net/user/postUgkxRDB_bcaZEIluKD5LMPVlvPAA2E1HbFNo No more walking up at 2 am when my roommate decides it's finally dinner time! Also, it heats food much faster than the microwave it is replacing. This surprised me, but it's great. The heat is even, and (so far) no problems. I only gave it 4/5 for small spaces, as I'm not sure I would agree to that. It fits perfectly in my kitchen, which isn't huge, but it would have been bulky in my condo. I am moving up from a smaller sized microwave, partly because popcorn didn't fit well in my old microwave. It will fit in this one.

When we got our first microwave oven nearly 50 years ago, my dad got a special hard plastic bacon grill that fit into a Pyrex oven dish. IIRC the grill could hold 4 slices easily, and as many as 6 at once with a little initial overlap. It made such good bacon that I ate a pound the first time I tried it. It was simple and effective, and most important it worked in early ovens without a turntable. I haven't found anything quite as good since.

You don't need a gadget to cook bacon in the microwave. You need two sheets of paper towels and a large microwave-safe platter. put down 1 sheet of paper towel, then 5 strips of bacon, and then put the paper towel on top to cover it. 4:30 later, you're done. Go longer if you want it crispier or shorter if you want it less crispy. AND it's flat, not folded.

Toss the paper towel after immediately removing the bacon. ALWAYS PERFECT!

Based on your review, I ordered the WowBacon. Received it yesterday and just got done eating my first batch of bacon. Yum 😋😋😋😋. Very easy to use. The hardest part was separating the uncooked slices.
Added note: The site said they improved the product; but, the only difference was that James' had clear blades and mine has pure white blades.

I absolutely love bacon that is right in-between crispy and chewy. This gadget seems amazing because I've tried cooking bacon in the microwave and the grease just goes everywhere!

You don't need a fancy gadget to cook bacon in the microwave, just a plate and some paper towel. Put the bacon between a few sheet of paper towel and cook on high for a few minutes flipping it over every minute.
    BOOM cooked bacon.

I've used the Wow Bacon for several years and it worked fine until the base became loose. Once I slid the base off of the cup I notice some water and grease in the bottom along with a foil. I guess it might be time to purchase a new one.

I like crispy bacon, but not to the point where it stops resembling meat. I prefer a little chewy over burnt.

I purchased this product after I watched your review. I must say that it works well for up to 4 slices of bacon at a time. However, I find it’s more difficult to clean the grease container than the paper towel on a plate method. With the paper towel method all I do it toss out the towels and pop the plate into the dishwasher. However, the really big problem is that you should never use this thing for smoked bacon because you can never get the Smokey odor out of the plastic!!! 😬

This is actually genius! No splatter AND you can save the bacon grease? I hate making bacon on the stove because of the mess. But in the micro, you lose the grease to the paper towels. I don't know about a Bacon Christmas Treee, but this cooker is DEFINITELY going on my Xmas list!

Plate, 2 layers of papertowels, lay bacon ontop, 2 layers of papertowels and into the microwave it goes. Perfectly cooked, every time.

I feel like this would be good for when you’re cooking recipes that call for rendering bacon fat, this would be a quick and easy way to get that precious bacon fat without using another pan. And it’s conveniently in a cup ready to pour!

@@oddbodly ZERO GREASE... THE BACON IS ENCLOSED IN THE COOKER... YOU PUT UP TO 6 SLICES IN.. PUT IN MICROWAVE UP TO 4 MINUTES.. TIME MAY VARY WITH HOW YOU LIKE MYOUR BACON.. AFTER TIMES UP TAKE IT OUT OPEN IT UP AND REMOVE BACON.. THEN YOU CAN POUR OUT ALL THE GREASE... REALLY WORKS WELL.

Also you can buy Hormel brand microwave bacon that comes in a black box. It’s actual raw strips of bacon in a vacuum sealed bag that you just pop straight into the microwave until it’s done to your likeness. The bag has a cloth inside that catches all the grease for you. $7 for a box of 16 strips. Definitely better than the pre-cooked microwave bacon, and more convenient than having to clean this gadget. Just throw away the bag when done. No mess.

As someone who likes bacon to shatter under light pressure, thanks for the 5 minute test.
I think personally I'll stick with pan frying, partly because it is easy to immediately reuse the hot grease to fry an egg.

I like my bacon shatter-crisp...near burnt. So that bacon would be good on a BLT. Regarding a Bacon Christmas Tree...I made a KETO style gingerbread house by decorating with meats n broccolli trees, cheese etc. It was a hit....but not a tree.

Hmm I think I might be interested in getting the Wow Bacon. While a little more complicated to use than most microwave bacon products, it looks like it can make it easy to save the bacon grease for later use. If you've never put bacon grease onto popcorn you are missing out! =) Personally I don't care about the fold it causes. I mainly use one of those bacon trays that has the T-shaped bars so I'm used to the fold. Not needing to cover the bacon with paper towels is a big bonus. With the bacon trays you absolutely have to cover it with a paper towel or grease will get everywhere! Thank you for letting us know about the Wow Bacon!

I couldn’t resist. Had to order it from Amazon. It says it cooks eggs too and the website encourages you to cook your bacon and eggs - all in 4 minutes. Wish James did the eggs. Can’t imagine the tree thing would be used for eggs?? This is going to be so less messy and quicker. No brained but 25 bucks is a bit pricey for plastic but we’ll see how it works out.

Interesting thing many do not know about bacon, it is already cooked and is edible as is, assuming you have good, high quality bacon. It is smoked and cured and should be safe to eat, but I have never tried myself. I like my bacon crispy. I see this product and my only thought is that it is quite a lot easier to just have a pan and cook bacon in it. less cleaning, less mess, and proper bacon. Best part is doing it my way I get rendered fat for other cooking needs also, bacon grease is yum also. I make gravy and green beans and all kinds of stuff with it, even fresh tortillas can be made with a little pig fat. NOMS!

Neat. I'm a fan, based purely on this video. Makes me wonder about those wavy looking dishes you see at thrift stores. The ones I've come across are a square.. about the size of the cooking pan that comes with most toaster ovens.. but it has a wavy surface with grease holes and had little pegs to separate the bacon. I wonder if it's similar to something you've reviewed.

Best bacon cooker I ever used and still use is the one that utilizes the three T shaped hangers that stick into the pan base that catches the drippings. I put paper towels over top of the bacon loaded hangers to catch splatters and tuck the towel bottom edges into the pan to catch drips.

for what it's supposed to do, this seems like a decent product in that the ease of keeping the grease/fat collected and no splattering in the oven is a big plus. if I could improve it, it would be to make the sides clear so you can see if the bacon is done to your liking without having to open it up... I still prefer cooking it in a pan, but this wouldn't be bad

Oh GAWD now I have to go cook some bacon cuz you made it look so tasty and that sparked my taste buds. I don't have your fancy bacon cooker BUT I can still do it the old fashioned way and I like it crispy almost burnt. Watching you cook and eat makes me hungry but worth it. (grins) PS thx to your reviews I love 'Graniterock/flintstone pans, best I ever used. (yabadabadoo)
