Great overview. Agree 100%. We are lucky to own a slip in Anacortes to keep our boat. This past winter, we moved the boat down to Dagmars to do some routine maintenance (bottom paint, outdrive service, transducer upgrade, etc) It saved a ton of money on haulouts and yard time. To top it off, we rent our slip out over the winter for double what we paid at Dagmars. You never come out money ahead, but it sure felt like it. My only complaint is the freeway grime. It wasn't bad over winter, but when it came to spring and dryer weather, it became a chore. It takes some effort to keep ahead of it.

The sawmill nearby puts a lot of dust in the air. Having Channel Surfing ceramic coating makes it easier to clean.

Hi Martin, thanks for this video on Dagmars. The staff there have likewise been very helpful and informative. Right now we're in eastern WA, but next year plan to return to the Puget Sound area for at least a while and use Dagmars for the same reasons you mention, as we have the same boat. May I mention how we also enjoyed your accounts of your Alaska trip. Best of good fortune, Prentice

Thanks!! Let me know when you're in town and we can grab a drink together. This week just started publishing the last 1/2 of our SE Alaska Trip (the return trip from Petersburg, to Everett).

Dagmars does have a lot of perks for what you pay per month. If you want your boat on land, and I do, for the money I haven't found anywhere else thats close. You do have to watch the tides and the Train Bridge can slow you down but you just have to plan for that. We know several boaters that have left Everett Marina and cost was part of it. They do have a small Yacht Club with reasonable dues we are in and Snohomish Marine is on site. Our boat is too big to trailer so this works well for us.

I’ve been at the Everett Marina for decades and looking seriously at going to Dagmar. Between the frequent cost increases, the screwed up parking (because of all the construction), lack of dock carts, and a couple of stupid $40 parking ticket violations this month the Port doesn’t seem to care about us.The general consensus with us paying slip holders is the Port is more concerned with their development project and financial bottom line than the people who pay for it.

We really like Dagmars. No issues with parking, plenty of dock carts, pull your car up next to your boat to load it, or load it on the dock at the linear moorage with a dock cart. Thanks for the comments and for watching!

We are about to purchase a 2019 R27. I am asking where do you keep a garbage container on the boat for use in the cooking area? Do you keep recycle things too?

We have a round garbage can that we move around. It's in the cabin when underway, and out in the cockpit when stopped. When we load the boat, we strip off as much of the packaging as we can so as to generate less waste.
