Yes sir! I also remember the tanks being more white back then. Certain corals like Tubs Blue Zoa looked amazing under those spectrum. I was surprised by how brown the natural reef looks (I dove at mostly soft coral sites though, only been to 2-3 spots that was SPS dominant). Makes me feel like I should bring along a blue light the next time I dive. 😂
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account?? I stupidly forgot my account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me!
@Toby Wade Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I'm with you 100% on the whiter spectrum with softy/macroalgea tank, ive recently adjust my lighting to be warmer white on my softy/macroalgea seahorse tank. Really brought out the colours in everything especially the seahorses
My Remy weeping willow has also been closed lately. Thinking it might be in to much flow! Going to add it to my 20 peninsula and see how it does there.
Nice video, thanks for taking us on the tank update. I am wondering if it's a good idea to grab the mangrove shoots and stick them in the refugium of the bigger tank to absorb nutrients from the tank?
I have a 10 gallon AIO with two rainbow bubble tips, a mushroom leather, a small neon green finger leather, and a few bright, neon pink mushrooms. I haven’t done a water change in a few months at this point and it looks great. Don’t even need to clean the glass, because the copepods, snails and tuxedo urchin do that for me. Softies are definitely my speed for saltwater tanks, the stony corals are nice but I got so bored of trying to keep on top of alkalinity and magnesium and calcium etc. Softies just don’t care and thrive when left alone👍
I’d like to see a detail video on what and how much you dose this tank with. Review how you take care of it. I have a nano tank 15G and still new. Thanks
I know this video is a year old but I have to ask, what lighting is it you were using to grow the caulerpa prolifera? Is it 12000K reef lighting? I want to put that macro algae in my tank, but I'm wondering if my Kessil a160we tuna blue will grow it, or do I need to supplement it with a light that's suited for plants like 6500K. I'm asking because I read macro algae prefers lighting that's the spectrum plants like, yet it seems you have it growing under reef lighting.
I had a yellow tail damsel. May be my favorite fish still. I had a clown and a yellowtail damsel in a 15-20 gallon nano. Best of friends, perfect fish load. Ate everything.
I have a tiny bunch of it at back corner, I see some new growth but it is very, very slow. Thanks for the reminder, I probably should bring it out from the shade into the light to give it a better chance... (and you may be right about the Mangrove competing w/ the macros)
Love having 2 tanks for that reason. Most of our corals love our big tank but some (acans and candy canes) dont so we put them in our small tank and they love it.
Do enough research it will never be hard . Nano tank is every beginner start with . But others says bigger tank is more stable then nano tank . I started around oct last year . Just u need do proper research before starting one . Everything is good to go .
I started, and failed a 10g about 6 months ago, I am approaching a year of research, I think by the end of the year I could finally start a successful tank
Sorry man, were you able to learn something from what happened? All my tanks go through a few rough spots initially, but if we ride it out until they get to the 1 - 1.5 years mark, things usually turn the corner and for the most part smooth sailing.
I keep having all my soft corals die and I don’t know why, I can’t keep pulsing Xenia alive for the life of me, where did you get all of your soft corals?
Wondering why the pink nepthea is not more common. I would love one but not paying a hundred bucks plus shipping . Anyone selling one let me know. Thanks. Love your videos
Great update. Not sure if I saw that you were in Maryland in a previous video, if so, so am I! I would love to get some help with my tanks, so I can add more aquarium content to my channel. And you seem to inappropriately know what the hell you're doing!
Hahaha, ironic as the 135g is the tank with all the fancy techs running it. One thing the Mangrove tank has over the 135g is time, this little tank has about half a year more time to mature and build up a strong bacteria colony that'd help buffer any silly mistakes that I make.
I forgot to tell you I have an extra orange ricordia Florida for you (you mentioned in a previous video you wanted one). Let me know if you want me to ship it to you! Thanks for all the awesome videos :)
I'm going to be setting up a tank just like this. I love soft corals and macros, and I love whiter light. So you're not alone!
I love that little tank! It looks great who cares what the price tag of the corals is! I think it's dope and I love the updates bro.
Thanks LJ! Sometimes the power of perceived value puts a nice little rosy lens in front of our eyes. 🤓
Dude Nice Bananna! 0:33
agree the natural look is nice, its how i remember reef tanks growing up under halides and how they look while diving over shallow reefs or lagoons.

maybe you should do two videos every week, 1 for the little tank, and 1 for the big tank! we want more! =)
Glad you're enjoying the videos! I wish I could, at one point I thought about it.... but then I got married and the baby came. 😅
You probably dont give a shit but does anyone know of a trick to get back into an instagram account??

@Toby Wade It did the trick and I finally got access to my account again. I am so happy!
Thank you so much you saved my ass !

I went to your channel hoping to see a cool sea horse tank... no video [yet]? 😢
@@InappropriateReefer yeah sorry, that is all coming, the insta page also need updating 🤣 will give you a shout when done.
We love this tank! This is what we’re planning on doing with ours. Keep up the great work!
Thank you! live-plants.com is where you want to find the affordable macros and gorgonians. 😎
@@InappropriateReefer That’s awesome! Thanks for the tip. We shop at the same stores as you, but we don’t see many soft corals for sale.
My Remy weeping willow has also been closed lately. Thinking it might be in to much flow! Going to add it to my 20 peninsula and see how it does there.
I love leather corals. Looks beautiful!
Nice video, thanks for taking us on the tank update. I am wondering if it's a good idea to grab the mangrove shoots and stick them in the refugium of the bigger tank to absorb nutrients from the tank?
U gibs baby pats! I like pats from my dad 🥰🐶
that’s a cool natural looking tank
have you seen the sunshine chromis damsels? incredible color! the tank looks so good!

Was that $150 budget build series you did I can’t remember but wow it looks great
What powerhead is that in the back of the tank aimed at the finger leather?
What happened to your nudibranchs? How’s the aptasia issue?
Always loved this tank, beautiful mate 👍🇬🇧👌🇬🇧
Wow how do you keep the Xenia from completely taking over? I’ve heard it can go crazy
I’d like to see a detail video on what and how much you dose this tank with. Review how you take care of it. I have a nano tank 15G and still new. Thanks
Is that the XAqua InOut overflow?
How did u make your corals grow faster please reply thanks
I would definitely move the weeping willing toadstool. I know remmy keeps his in a decent amount of flow

Is the banana in your inbox or outbox?
Also, if you get a damsel, the yellow tail blue damsel are cool! They've got unique patterning and are sooo bright!
I had a yellow tail damsel. May be my favorite fish still. I had a clown and a yellowtail damsel in a 15-20 gallon nano. Best of friends, perfect fish load. Ate everything.
What happened to the Red Grape macro algae? Did it die off too? It's probably the mangrove that's competing the macro algae more than thr corals.

Looking good buddy loving the tank keep up the good work
What brand is the grow light?
Protein skimmer are no good for soft corals? My gsp coral doesn’t want to open up after I installed a protein skimmer on my 40 breeder
Nice job! The tank looks great!
Love having 2 tanks for that reason. Most of our corals love our big tank but some (acans and candy canes) dont so we put them in our small tank and they love it.
This has to be my in my favorite tanks on RUclips, I’m curious to know if you use protein skimmer in this tank or just the filter !
Hello! do you run activated carbon on this tank? right now i have macroalgaes with softies and I dont know if i should run 24/7 on just once a week
Helloo, how often do you clean the tank? And do you test the water parameters?
I will like to start a tank like this one that’s why I will like to know lol.
How hard is reefing for beginners, and is a nano tank a good choice to start with???
Do enough research it will never be hard . Nano tank is every beginner start with . But others says bigger tank is more stable then nano tank . I started around oct last year . Just u need do proper research before starting one . Everything is good to go .

@@InappropriateReefer yea I did, and I think I'll be better next time from it
I also love damsels. If I didn't already have a pair of clowns in my nano, I'd probably go with damsels

I love the tank!!
Cardinal is such a cool fish
What happened to the pipefish
Love this tank
Great update
Hi Gabe
@@angryowlaquariums40 hi bird.
The leather is called "Pink pulsing leather'.
Amazing tank! I'm gonna try to make something similar

Don’t forget that banana there, near the start of the video. Looks hidden. :-) great content. Thank you.
LOL thanks for the needed reminder, that was close!
Love the vids
This mangrove tank is becoming a hospital for corals that don’t do well in the 135 😂
Hahaha, ironic as the 135g is the tank with all the fancy techs running it. One thing the Mangrove tank has over the 135g is time, this little tank has about half a year more time to mature and build up a strong bacteria colony that'd help buffer any silly mistakes that I make.
Siphon from shot glass with feeder tube. Stick tube in and slowly release food. The whole reef will come out at once
You gonna try to get mango's from the tree???. Or try brackish water
So good
I Don't know I heard they grow better in a brackish tank !
I Don't know if it's true though. Maybe some one here knows ?
Banggais dont jump, never
It’s amazing how small they sell coral today. Frags are a joke and they get away with it. 20 years ago we would get full corals for those prices.
Hey
:) I'm early
I forgot to tell you I have an extra orange ricordia Florida for you (you mentioned in a previous video you wanted one). Let me know if you want me to ship it to you! Thanks for all the awesome videos :)
very basic haha, maybe lets stick to the large one xD
So Hot
Only Jake Adams have Weeping willow, all else is just fake.
Lol You must have just watched his podcast
