Just another redneck barrel boat - 12 - New day, New boat!

I tore down the boat and rebuilt the deck.
I moved the batteries forward and now 5 inches of the front is below the water line pushing water. Not good. I'll try to fix that next time. It did perform well enough today in spite of this. I'm thinking of adding 2 batteries, and changing the trolling motor from the 12v - 45lb to a 24v 86lb that I have. I think it is a necessity when you go out in big open water into the wind.
I didn't like the canopy over all. I might not use one from now on.
I didn't fish hardly at all any time I went out on the boat so far, so I am not bringing the fishing gear next time.
I was on the water for 6 hrs again today and the batteries were at 11.99v, not bad at all. Plenty more juice still in them.
btw, if I had discharged the batteries fully, it would cost 25 cents to charge them. Pretty good for a full day of boating. It probably cost me 15 cents for fuel today.
